Esplanade Furniture

I bought a beautiful dining room set here. I love it! The guys were very friendly and I received excellent service. They even delivered it that same day!
They have some beautiful and unusual kitchen tables made out of gorgeous woods. Amazing.

Oh how we love this store. Customer service is wonderful. We recently dropped a huge wad of cash on a new bedroom set and it is worth every penny. Solid and well built, even arriving before the 6 – 8 weeks estimated time of delivery. The guys who set it up went above and beyond and were very professional. Don’t waste your money on the inferior Ashley Furniture garbage. We love this local business and will continue to patronize it.

Recently, I paid Esplanade Furniture to build a TV Stand using the specifications of a design by Stickley. The end product was beautifully constructed. However, the stainer was not given the correct instructions nor did he see a picture I specifically asked the craftsman, Rick, to follow. As a result, the water-​based stain on cherry with walnut did little to enhance the nature beauty of either wood. Instead of highlighting the woods, it colored them a pale blue verging on light gray.
The three conversations I have had with Dann Moser, the owner of Esplanade, over this mistake on their part, unfortunately, have caused me to give his business a very low rating, but not because of the quality of the construction.
Rather, it has been the confrontational manner of both Dann and Rick when I have asked them to correct their error.
Because the TV Stand was built to correct dimensional specifications but not to the correct staining instructions – that is, to match as closely as possible the colors in the photograph I provided – I asked that the wrong staining be corrected.
They either are not able to do so or are unwilling. Instead of refunding the full amount because it was not stained properly, and, as a gesture of good will on their part, building a second TV stand unstained so that I could take it to a business elsewhere that has provided me with good service for over 15 years, both Rick, the craftsman, and Dann were less that professional in their conduct and language.
Rick seemed to value more his stellar reputation as a builder, a reputation he deserves, than correcting the error and thereby validating Dann’s claim that his business has been built on excellent customer relations.
Regarding customer relations, in his most recent call to me, Dann Moser used the «F» word, called me insane, and said he never wanted to speak to me again. I don’t intend to be in touch unless the refund he said he will send is not received by me in a timely manner.
Other than Dann and Rick, the other employees of Esplanade Furniture were very courteous. God bless them.
It is perhaps worth noting than when I told Dann’s secretary that I intended to contact the Better Business Bureau and she conveyed that message to Dann, he scoffed at the BBB.
In fact, Esplanade Furniture is not registered with the BBB.
For those of you reading this review, please keep in mind that Dann Moser is a good salesman, but he is of the school that equates bluster with confidence and will try to overwhelm a customer with his homespun view of himself and his customer relations. As an example, he claims that in 33 years of business, he has had only 3 customers who have given him such a hard time as I have. While certainly possible, it is highly unlikely that any business, no matter how reputable, would be capable of such a record over such a long period of time.
Caveat Emptor.

We got a bunk bad for the kids the other day the service was very good and professional and the bad was delivered and put together in one hour.
