Fantasy Game World

This is a local mom and son game store with comics, miniatures and more. Dolly is great and Scott remembers regulars as well as what games they play. It is a home business, but considering the deals you can get and the great hidden finds it is worth wandering through.

I love this place! The little old lady is so friendly and you can’t beat the prices! She had a good selection of older merchandise that I can’t usually find anywhere else, and I especially love the homey feel.

The store is small, but what it does have is at very great prices. The elderly woman who I assume owns the place was very friendly to me and the other customers. She gave me 20% off of the price on the back of the book, and two of the books I got looked brand new but were priced at 4 and 5 dollars! The store was really great!

I just came in here with my kids who are obsessed with Magic and Pokemon. The owners are very involved with not only what they sell, but what is done with what they sell. They have a lot of community gatherings there to play many different games, and personally follow up with the companies to see what kinds of events and tournaments are available to host and support. There was a game event happening there, and I noticed everyone seemed really nice and respectful. The two owners I talked to were very genuine and nice and upfront. I loved how they were not only very knowledgeable but completely unpretentious. I asked them a lot of questions, and they were happy to educate me. I liked them a lot right away. They’re just as into this stuff as the players are. It is hard to understand how they make a profit on some of their prices (go in and buy some booster packs; you’ll see what I mean). Great place.

Creepy place. I mean, unless you’re in to shopping in someone’s grandmother’s garage. How is it even legal to run something like this?

Fantasy Game World is the best place for hobbies and comics. Scott runs the hobbies portion while Dolly, who used to own «Dolly’s Dungeon» in downtown Chico, runs the comics.
