Great selection and good prices on Carhartt and Dickies. Craig and Eric are knowledgeable and helpful. It’s a fun shop that always has new things.

The store has lots of useful stuff at decent prices but the manager is a complete a**hole! The other employees are helpful and friendly but the manager is rude and condescending. I would avoid shopping here based on his poor attitude and the way he treats his customers.

If there were zero stars they would get it. I am in law enforcement and have purchased BDU’s there for years instead on buying online to try and keep my business local. I wanted to try a new brand and the salesman told me they would shrink a bit after I washed them and if I had any problems to bring them back. I purchased them, washed them, and tried them on… still too big. Took them back and was then told I could not return them since I washed them. I explained the sales person told me to wash them and bring them back if they still didn’t fit. Manager came to the rescue (I thought) but he backed his employee (not original sales person) and would not accept return. I left the BDU’s there since I could not use them and vowed to no longer shop there. Original sales person was off for a few days I guess. Still being pissed, I called them and again spoke to the manager. When I told him I was in law enforcement and that I would share my experience with ALL my co-​workers, he offered to give me 50% off my next purchase. Gee, thanks, but no thanks. He added «yeah they look in real good shape» (no kidding) because I only tried them twice. Not to mention, why did me telling him I was in law enforcement matter? He should have offered the same to anyone. They got my money this time but never again. Guess online is better after all.

Great surplus store! Lots of new as well as used — and the used can be awesome! Also do some pawning, so there are other odds and ends for sale, like guns and used power tools. Reasonable prices. Some older stores fill up with junk and stay that way, this store does not.

Gates is the Heaven of outdoor supplies that you can stop at on a whim and find whatever you need.
And if you’re hungry after all of the shopping you’ve done there, you can go next door to The Roost for some good eatin’.
The employees are friendly and knowledgeable, so don’t hesitate to ask them anything!
