I recently tried their blackberry wine. It’s delicious! Sweet, but not too sweet. The label recommended chocolate with it, so I tried and it was really great! I had the wine from a grocery store, but I will definitely be making a trip to the main site next time I’m in Chico(the in-laws live out on Honeyrun, lucky me!)

Their Honeywine is some of the best wine I’ve ever had. My favorites are Cranberry and Elderberry. Blackberry and Cherry are great with deserts. Every time I’ve been to their location, they’re very friendly, and never fail to point out their discounted bottles. I love that. I’m glad to see them distributing their wine around the area. I hope great things for this winery in the future! GOTRYIT!

I don’t normally write a lot of reviews but this wine is something that is definitely worth mentioning. I was given a couple of bottles of the wine as a Christmas gift and couldn’t wait to give it a try. The wine is not what you would expect but I love anything cranberry and my friends know this so, it was a pretty safe bet. The wine is remarkably crisp and delicious, not one of those heavy syrupy sweet wines. It is sweet but not overly so and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I definitely like it chilled, my only regret was that there were only two bottles! I hope I can order this by the case(you know… for gifts!!!)

I stumbled upon this winery not because I was looking for something tasty and alcoholic(which sounds like something I might normally do, especially while stumbling), but because I’ve been suffering from the worst seasonal allergies and was in search of local honey to help relieve my swollen eyes. One of the local natural stores told me to check this place out, and then I came to find out that it’s more of a winery now than a honey retailer. I bought a cute bear full o’ local honey from the natural store and could have just marked my mission as «complete»… But I read online that HoneyRun Winery offers free samples in their retail location, and I was totally having a case of the Mondays and thought a little pick me up at 3 in the afternoon was very much called for… Plus, I like supporting local businesses. I’m not as much of a lush as I sound. Really. I had to call and ask for specific directions, because I forgot to write down the address due to the aforementioned«case of the Mondays». It’s kinda hard to notice the storefront if you’re just driving around in the area — it’s in the industrial part of Park Ave near all the design stores. But seeing how this isn’t the kind of place you take a bus full of all your girlfriends to for your bachelorette party, I could easily forgive the location. Since I am new to honey wines I had to give them a taste. I normally drink Cabernet Sauvignon and it doesn’t really compare to these wines. They’re definitely sweeter, could probably be served on their own on top of some ice cream or something. They don’t have a bite like grape wines, and aren’t as complex either. I’d say the closest to a grape wine they had was the elderberry honey wine. I got a bottle of that, along with blackberry and cranberry. I figured I could easily sip on a glass of these with one of my famous fruit salads I make during summer. I give the business and salesperson 5 stars, but the wine 4 stars. The wine is pretty cheap and they take credit cards. It’s tasty, but definitely not a lot of «variety» in flavors. All fairly sweet and not dry at all, but hey they’re sulfite free!

if you are all about mead-type beverages, this is a perfect stop in the chico area. they have all types of honey wines, including blackberry, raspberry and elderberry wines! i really enjoyed the blackberry one, and imagined it would actually taste really great over vanilla ice cream or with dark chocolate. cheers!
