Fantastic bar… great prices, super fun jukebox, sociable patrons and the employees… AMAZE. What more could you ask for? Be there or be square.

I went here last night and it was an awful experience. The bar tender(blonde woman) was EXTREMELY rude to everyone around me. I’m pretty sure she was very drunk. I had three complete strangers turn to me and say«was she rude to you, too?» I was served not one, but two flat drinks. When I took the first one back the way that the bartender dealt with it was absurd. Didn’t believe me, tried a taste of soda, then put a straw in my own drink, took a sip, didn’t say a word to me, then made me a new(flat) drink and did not apologize. Awful customer service, awful experience.

A bar back was at the door last night, he decided to be extremely rude to me at the door. Couldn’t tell a real id from a fake one because he is a bar back and shouldnt have been at the door, because he cant read a real identification card. And he had a credit card for confirmation and still decided to be rude and embarrassing so he lost this bar 5 peoples business that night. Way to go bar back… hope this place tanks after that experience with him at the door

This place is a great neighborhood bar with awesome employees and great alcohol selection. They have bloody Mary specials on Mondays so I like to go then and get a stiff bloody. Yum. Bridgett is one of the best friendliest bartenders there by far and she is one of the ones that I hope to see every time I go back.

Favorite bar in town! For those like myself that want a cool atmosphere, quality liquor at the lowest price in town, and those that hate dealing with dumb a** fraternity bros like you deal with at Riley’s; this is the place to be!

45 minutes I’ve been here. One beer served. Why? Because the bartender is drunk as fuck and would rather hang outside than do his job. Worst bartender ever.

Walking past 5th& Ivy You’ll notice a lot of bros The nightlife’s sure lively But the crowd here really blows But walk a few more feet And I’ll bet my own toes You’ll think it pretty neat This bar they call Joe’s The inside’s quite modest The TVs show shows The ground’s covered in sawdust To soak up spilled beer that flows Is it better than the rest Of Chico’s bars? I don’t know But it’s absolutely the best At being a bar they call Joe’s

This place is tiny but great for hanging out with a good group of friends, the drink specials are great and the staff is awesome, plus who doesn’t like a bar with sawdust on the floor. Try the Bloody Mary it’s one of the best in Chico.

Best jello shots ever. Plus I had a hot bartender hitting on me. I love cheap drinks!

I love the sawdust on the floors; it reduces slipping, spilling your drink isn’t a big deal and it gives it a real rustic vibe. I dig it. Joe’s is a great place to grab a drink and play some darts.

at the time I wrote that, I did not yet know that the building that Joe’s occupied was deteriorating. Joe’s was closed, the building torn down and rebuilt, and Joe’s restored«exactly» the way it was before! Unbelievable how much it looks the same! Same feel, same look, everything. Way to go Joe’s! I just don’t get to there much, anymore.

I never got to go to this bar it closed when I turned 21 because it was getting remodeled. It reopened after I graduated. My Friends like it. There’s games and its a bar next to ivy an a good bar to go to if you don’t want to go to rileys

Wow, I can see how Chico got its booze-town reputation. My first time in town, I was brought here for a post-dinner drink. Good atmosphere: TVs on the wall, sawdust on the floor… nice. And the drinks were freakin’ cheap. Not only cheap, but huge and stiff. A Tangaray and tonic cost something like $ 6, and it came in a glass that would be too big if it was a water glass. Can’t argue with that! After a little while, the evening crowd started cycling in, so we made our way out. Gets loud and crowded, but if you’re in town to party, I could see this place being a blast. Plenty of other bars within walking distance too. Oh Chico… I guess the legends are true. Good times.

This is a great bar day or night. It’s casual with a «Cheers» vibe to it. You can sit at the bar and BS with the bartender and other patrons or at tables with friends. There is a covered outside patio that comes in handy when it gets crowded or for smokers. Don’t be turned off by the location, this is definitely not a frat bar.

Best dive bar ever. Best bloody mary ever. They always have some pretty good drink specials and their back porch is nice for the summertime. It’s been a while since I have been back to Joe’s but they have that golf arcade game, the sawdusty floors, and always a weird drunk chick that needs people to hold her up. This is the greatest place in Chico to end your night!

I never met a Joe I didnt like, and Joe’s bar makes no exception. Ice cold drinks, great service, good music and free peanuts! Definitely WAY better than Rileys across the street. In fact id rather eat the sawdust off the floor in Joes bar than go to Rileys any night… seriously if you have any self respect you will not go to Rileys. PS. When I say«good music,» I mean good drunk music. Also, there are a good handful of cowboys at this place, so if you have a problem with that, dont come here!

Best Bar in Chico by FAR. Love the smell of saw dust and the last call rush followed by a group sing along with the every one in the entire bar to «I’ve Got Friends in Low Places». Who cares if you like country or not, this is what this town is all about! Oh, and don’t forget to leave at least 10 min before 2, so you can sprint the 5 blocks to the 7⁄11 and pick up a 30 pack for the rest of the night. Boozing, Singing, Saw Dust, and $ 6.00 «double whiskey cokes» that could get a bull drunk with the sheer size!!! Go!!!

Joe’s Bar is good for several things: –Breakfast(Bloody Joes) –Dice on the back patio –peanut fights –erotic photohunt –32 oz. tecate –leaving without closing your tab –waking up with sawdust in your pocket Great on a good night, good on an okay night.

This is my all time favorite Chico Bar! It’s not just the sawdust and peanut shells on the floor, it’s not the fact that you can get a 32oz Tecate, it’s not even pushing past sweaty frat boys in the tiny ass hallway to the back patio past the bathrooms. I don’t know what it is, but I love this place. There is always that hella drunk chick in the back that people are holding up so that she doesn’t get kicked out. There’s always that loud annoying guy who tries to make friends with everyone. There’s always a miss-priss Sorority chick from some other school that can’t believe she’s at such a dive bar. It’s just a fantastic place to people watch. $ 3 Ginormous Beers ROCK! You’re never going to wait too long in line outside. It’s just a great time. Check it out!
