Kinetics Academy of Dance

My fiancé and I just recently finished our ballroom sessions with Jan and Ray. They were absolutely fabulous while teaching us the choreography for our first dance. My fiancé was not exactly excited about the lessons but he ended up loving them. We are definitely considering going back at some point just for fun! They were patient, helpful, and made a possibly uncomfortable experience fun.

My husband I took ballroom lessons from Janice and Ray. We learned the waltz for the first dance at our wedding. It was extraordinarily helpful to have lessons from a husband and wife team who could each show you the corresponding male and female steps. My fiancé was very nervous about our dance and so we took 6 lessons as opposed to their standard 3 or 5 lesson packages they offer. My husband and I agree that the lessons were fun and we may take a few– just for fun– again in the future. At our reception, while we weren’t at ‘Dancing with the Stars’ level, we danced our first dance perfectly and with confidence.

My 4 year old daughter has been taking lessons at Kinetics for about four months. We both have had such a positive experience there with the teachers as well as the front desk staff. Malia gets lots of group instruction that is creative and fun as well as teaching her the fundamentals of dance. Miss Hailey is super imaginative and has such a unique way of presenting dance with good choices in music and fun stories and props. My daughter takes gymnastics, swim lessons and is in a choir. Her ballet class is what she looks forward to the most. If you are a prospective mom if would not let some of the other less flattering reviews dissuade you. I have found Kinetics to be a very good experience for my daughter.

My daughter recently started taking classes here for a few months to try it out for fun. She’s 4. The owner is very nice and she takes dance seriously and has been teaching a long time. The students respect her and the other teachers as well. Brigit is another great teacher with experience. Our experience was over the holidays. It was tricky coordinating the CARD classes that we signed my daughter up, alongside the Academy’s classes, but that was eventually sorted out. The children’s Christmas shows were very professional and of course adorable. We stayed and watched the older kids dance as well. Once you decide to take your child on a regular basis, I believe they offer a discount if you sign up for monthly debit withdrawals.

The «Personal» apology I received was not until after I kept getting e-​mails from them asking me to sign up for more classes. I finally had it and sent back pretty much the same letter as what my review said. They answered, but it isn’t like they sought me out to say sorry. Also, I never was complaining about their policy. I didn’t mind paying, it was the attitude that got me so mad. I was in the middle of explaining how we would be moving to a new town and the response I got was give us money. No one ever told her good luck or anything.

The worst experience you could imagine. My fiancé and I went to them for dance lessons for our first dance for our wedding. When we arrived the first thing they ask for was the money in full and we started to discuss the dance we wanted to learn and he said he wanted us to try something else first. So, we went along with it and after a full hour of dancing to a completely wrong pace than our music was meant for, We went home. The following week we showed up for our second lesson and before starting we explained that their dance was all wrong for our wedding song and we showed them what we had in mind. The instructor was very nice and was willing to learn the dance and to give him a week. At that point his wife got a very bad attitude and was very rude that she made us feel very uncomfortable. He told us he would get back to us. A couple days later we received a phone call explaining that they were going to refund us part of our money. So, naturally we were very disappointed and upset at the same time. I called to discuss the refund with the owner and to my surprise she was very very rude and was told I didn’t deserve the refund I was getting. I explained to her that I felt I was being treated unfair because we listen to the instructor to try a dance that didn’t go with our song and then finding out that they weren’t going to give us our lessons and only part of our money back. She got very angry and said some very rude things to me. She kept cutting me off while I was talking and she was speaking in a very angry tone. She asked me for my address to send the refund and laughed and hung up. Very disappointed in the unprofessional manner in which the owner handled the situation. Do not waste your money or time on someone that is trying to take advantage of people in need of there services.
