AMAZING! I have been dying to try Rallo’s West, and I was blown away by how good the food is. It’s very difficult to find this kind of cuisine. Chef Klishis is hitting home runs! For a starter I had the Escargots, accompanied by the Fresh Squeezed IPA, and it was just incredible. My main course was the Pork Belly. Best pork I’ve had in my life! The meat was so soft it just fell apart, and the skin was crispy and delicious. I can’t wait to get back there and try the rest of the menu! The atmosphere is warm and inviting and people were having a great time. The vibe is upscale casual and the the staff there(Jen and Rick) were super attentive. I love Rallo’s West!!!

Food: I came here with 3 other colleagues for Friday dinner with reservations. Even though most entrees weren’t vegetarian on their menu, the restaurant accommodated the 3 vegetarians in our group. For example, they removed the pecorino from the pizza and substituted the shrimp with mushrooms from the«shrimp and grits» item. The thin crust pizza was paired with a small green salad sitting on top. Not bad, but I still prefer the margherita pizza from Grana. My colleagues also got their red wines, which they liked. Ambience: Quiet, dim, and neat. They lit 2 candles at our table before we started our meal, so this would be a great choice for not only group dinners but for date nights too! Service: Attentive and consistent. My water was refilled regularly, and our orders came relatively quickly. Pro tips: 1. If you’re staying at the Hotel Diamond and don’t want to eat at Two Twenty Restaurant, this is conveniently located one block north of the hotel. 2. There’s plenty of street and garage parking within walking distance from this restaurant.

I’d love to love this place. We definitely needed a wine and apps spot that understands wine, who doesn’t cater to the college crowd. The wait staff, the quality of the food, seriously spot on. But damn. the prices discourage me from returning! A surf n turf combo, with smaller-than-average proportions, priced at $ 40? At that price we thought it would be big enough for two. It wasn’t. Ouch! If I return it will be for a glass of wine and I’m eating elsewhere.

My new favorite place to dine in Chico. Went in last night and we were seated right away by a very friendly server. I had the house red, which was delicious and we ordered the popcorn of the moment(truffles, with truffle oil and truffle salt), which was fabulous. Unlike many restaurants the server did not pressure us to order our whole meal at once which I appreciate, she allowed us to time savor and enjoy. We ordered a three item cheese plate with the Gouda, barely buzzed and prosciutto, all of which were wonderful, just enough cheese for the two of us. The boyfriend then ordered the flatbread, which he loved. I had the shrimp and grits, absolutely perfect. Portion sizes are perfect in my opinion, enough food to make you feel truly satiated but not so much food that you leave feeling overwhelmed. I’m really glad Rallo’s has become a part of the Chico food scene, I will definitely be back very soon!

I was so excited about trying this place, I saw their menu before it opened. My husband and I ordered a beer & glass of wine, the waiter made great suggestions. We ordered the pork belly, it was a little fatty(which I knew it would be) and the greens were delish! Next time I’m going to try the Maryland Crab cake or duck confit! Nice to have another wine lounge downtown. Came back again on NYE& had the best service. I also tried the duck confit and it was mouthwatering! This place keeps getting better & better!

Yum! Great addition to Downtown Chico. My husband & I sat at the bar for drinks and apps. The food is awesome! We had the insanely good truffle Parmesan popcorn, salted almonds, and boquerones. Everything came out hot and fresh made. I’d expect almonds to be pre done, which is fine, but these were hot with chunky fleur de sel salt. We’ll be back to try some entrees… The crab cake sounds amazing! And the cheese & charcuterie selection is impressive.

Just what Chico needed. Great wine selection and good house wines as well. Though I was tempted by the craft beers on tap, I was happy with my unoaky house Chardonnay. They also have several tasty California reds I tried during my first visit here. Cheese and charcuterie options to die for. Best in town. Seriously. I can recommend the truffle cheese, pâté, and prosciutto(will be returning to taste the others). The fresh veggies are pickled by the chef himself. Their onion soup is a savory twist to the original, with five onion varieties and short ribs. The flatbread pizza and pear salad were also incredible. Quality, local ingredients! This is a huge upgrade from the old Tannins that used to be here. Lenny and family redecorated using gorgeous upcycled wood and metals. The ambiance vibes nicely with the food offerings and friendly service. This place is great for tapas and a glass of wine at the bar and also group parties or intimate dates. Love the versatility and the fun atmosphere here.

The décor was warm and inviting; the wine was superb; the meat and cheese plate was fantastic and full of flavor(plus it had some super tasty pickled vegetables); the truffle popcorn was beyond belief yummy; the duck with lentils and hanger steak were both terrific. I loved every bit of my experience here and will be back for sure. I can’t wait to try everything on the menu!

Unique local twist on wine bistro theme. The charcuterie selection was exceptional. The atmosphere is complimentary of downtown Chico. The staff is well trained… which goes a long way in Chico. The wine list is not vast but allows you to experience great wine with out breaking the bank. Great date night.

I was really impressed with Rallo’s West. I sat at the bar an enjoyed a local Petite Sirah from Bertagna, Son Kissed Vineyards. I was able to talk with the owners, Lenny & Jen, a brother and sister duo who brought their family’s Baltimore legacy to Chico, CA. They have quite an assortment of local wines and a very unique menu. We started with a blue crab dip appetizer and followed with three entrees. The first was the Smoked and Braised Pork Belly with Quail eggs which was the fanciest & tastiest version of East Coast ham & eggs. Next, was my personal favorite, Cajun style Shrimp & Grits. My boyfriend, duck hunter & cook extraordinaire, had the Muscovy Duck Leg Confit. He was amazed and said, «this is fu$&ing good!» Finally, we finished with an Eggnog Crème Brûlée. It was absolute to die for. With Lenny in the kitchen & Jen choosing wine, you can’t go wrong. This is a family restaurant eager to please & introduce your palette to tastes outside of rural Northern California.

I had to walk by the Rallo’s West menu every day for two weeks before getting the chance have dinner. I’m happy to say the food lives up to the very exciting menu. We started with the charcuterie. Our waiter was a great help suggesting his favorites. Yum! And not something you get elsewhere in Chico. For entrees I had the pork belly, my wife had the duck confit. Both perfectly cooked. I’m very excited to go back and try other selections. The prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of the food. A happy addition to Chico’s best restaurants.

Had a really nice experience at Rallo’s. The menu is very unique for Chico, They have escargot, shrimp and grits, dunk pâté and other items not found often in Chico. I’d highly recommend Rallo’s if you are looking for a quiet and unique dinning experience.
