A few people told me I was too critical of their pricing practices. I am happy to defend my passionate response. If you cannot trust a business to be fair, honest, and reasonable in their pricing, what can you trust them to do? As a Veteran I also take issue with them flying an Americana Flag that has holes in it! It is rude, demeaning and against the law.

Got my Sig P226 there with helpful recommendation from the staff. I also have the family membership so I go there at least once a month. Staff is helpful and facility is clean. I shoot my handguns there and my 22lr rifles. I prefer going here than the free shooting range in Oroville.

I had a great experience at Safe Arms. My friends and I went to Safe Arms on Saturday, 2/1, for my birthday and we had a great time. The staff was knowledgeable and very nice. It was our first time at Safe Arms and our first time shooting a gun, and the experience was all we hoped it would be. I would recommend this shooting range to anyone. My friends and I will be back again soon!

Returned to Safer Arms on our next visit to Chico. Range fees have increased but are inline with most facilities. Staff continued their professional and pleasant customer service. They were busy but had both sides open which meant there was no wait to shoot. Will continue to return.

It’s the only choice for indoor shooting in Chico which is too bad. The staff are somewhat knowledgeable but not personable by any means. I’d shoot somewhere else if I could. The prices are high, you can’t shoot your own ammo and they don’t offer breaks to large groups like police departments. When you’re the only game in town I guess you can get away with it.

It gets 2 stars simply cause its the only regular indoor choice for 50 miles. Staff loves their elevated status and while they know a lot about firearms-its hard to get past the«looking down» at newbies. its a good indoor range with better noise protection than ive seen other places. prices okay I guess. There is the range at upper park but hard to figure out when they are avialble and its a club so you have to join them to use it. for prices-I would just as soon goto Big 5 or Reno if I had to buy something.

Out of all the gun stores in chico this is the best.(unfortunately). Which is sad to say. I only say that because other stores only have a couple of guns and no inventory. They don’t have a great selection of gun and the ones they do have are over priced. Example: I have many hand guns but i was looking for a polymer one. I went to safer arms to rent the ones i was interested in getting and I was charged 97 dollars to rent 2 gun and 2 boxes of ammo. I already had targets and eyes and ears. Thats a lot for 2 boxes of 9 mm and rent to guns. I would recommend to make the drive to Yuba City(after making sure they have what you want) It is a bit of a drive but it is better then giving your business to safer arms Where they are over priced and have O. K customer service.

This place is pretty cool! out of the gun stores in Chico, I have to say that this place has the most knowledgeable staff, the few times they don’t have an answer they will find out and then get back to you. As far as ammo goes, sure this place is pricy, but at the moment this is the only place in chico that you can rely on finding ammo at. Guns are actually priced competitively. Worth checking out! I have made at least 4 purchases from this place… happy every time!

I recently got addicted to firearms and target practice. Every member of the staff I’ve met at Safer Arms has been amazing. They’re all very forthcoming with information, knowledge and even a few random stories. They never make you feel stupid for asking a «newbie question» and are happy to show you anything you’re curious about, from stance, to grip — improving your aim, cleaning your weapon, etc. I made my first purchase here and now regularly shoot at this range and I’m always treated like a valued customer. Great staff, great selections, nice indoor range.

Checking in was really easy. My dad, his friend and myself all went here and had 2 lanes. The place was clean and I had fun, so 5 stars. Not a single issue that day. It just sucks that I can’t shoot the AR-15 here, but I didn’t expect to be able to.

Went in for some practice on the indoor range — not crowded, ventilation was good, they have heaters to keep it warm even with lots of cold air cycling through from outside. Staff was friendly. Cost was approx $ 27 for 2 people, 2 lanes, a few targets, 2 of the lead-cleansing hand wipes. More expensive than shooting for free at the clay pits — but it’s indoors and you can change targets whenever you want. Guns & ammo seem to be available at MSRP — no big discounts, but if people only buy from discount dealers online, there will be no local gun stores left. :(

The staff are friendly and helpful. The process to check in and rent a lane is simple and quick. The lanes are a little narrower than I wish they were, but kept up nicely and have a good-sized bench. It would be nice if they had more seating, like a few stools or something. Lots of types of targets to choose from. I have been here a couple of times and have had good experiences. The items in the store seem a bit overpriced. I don’t shop there. It’s a nice place to get some target practice! :)

I took my son and two of his friends for a great afternoon of range shooting. We are«newbees» and the staff at Safer Arms was great. We obviously needed to understand both gun safety and use. This was a special event for us and rather pricy. Even though pricy it did give us the opportunity to see if this was an activity we might enjoy. They have excellent membership plans that lower the per visit cost if you decide to regularly shoot. Recommend!

This place is the only indoor shooting range in Chico, shoot(no-pun-intended) maybe in Butte County. It could be a 4 or maybe a 5 star if it was cleaned up a little bit, not so pricey on items, and the staff had a personality.
