Usually this place is great but it was terrible today. Service was slow and awkward as I brought clients there for lunch. We had to constantly as for water refills, the waiter, who looked and acted like a gang member, was just doing his own thing. At the end myself and one other person at the table started feeling nausea. I do plan on going back again, I think it was more of a bad staff day then the actual restaurant. I do hope service gets better cause the food is usually pretty good for American thai food.

Hands down best Thai food in Chico!!! Service is nice and they don’t come to the table too often. The Tom kha soup is wonderful and the green curry is delicious! Fast service and nice location, I recommend this to anyone who wants Thai food!!!

This tiny little restaurant can easily be missed. The location is fabulous though– close to campus and in the middle of downtown. The service is wonderful and quick. The food is amazing and tastes like heaven. My wife and I love Thai food and this restaurant definitely hits the spot. Very vegan friendly!

So glad my husband and I stubbled upon this place. It was amazingly good. They had a huge variety of food to choose from and everything we ordered tasted great. I been trying to look for a place that serves MANGO SALAD and sticky purple rice mango dessert (been searching for years traveling from MICHIGAN to CALI) and they have it here. I cant wait to come back

Best spring rolls in Chico. I ate here with my family and my daughter couldn’t stop eating the hot and sour soup, even though it was hot for her. I order the Phở and of course it did not disappoint. Service was quick and friendly, considering my son spilled an entire glass of water upon our arrival. I also really enjoyed a Thai beer called Singha. I’ve drank a lot of «Asian» beers, but may have found myself a favorite. Overall, I’d give this place 6 stars if I could. This was the first time I’ve been here, but I’m DEFINITELY coming back soon.

This place is great and its in a prime location, you can eat great food and enjoy downtown Chico! I have never been disappointed here. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Best thai food in town with shorter wait time compared to cocodine or thai cuisine. I go here often, and they are very friendly. They always serve you with a little bowl of sweet, sour, and spicy soup. I love the eggplant dish, the pad see ew, and the red curry. Never disappointed. :)

Thai Basil is an inviting restaurant with great service. Their food is nothing but amazing. I recommend their Pad Thai and various curry dishes. This is a great place to take a few friends and spend lunch. They are only open for lunch and dinner. They are closed between the two, so make sure you check their hours before going down. Friendly staff, great food, lovely downtown location.

This is one of the best Thai restaurants I have ever been to! I came here for lunch and dinner. All food was delivered timely. Everything was flavorful and prepared perfectly. The Best in Chico!

A small little spot that could be easy to over look.
Came in at at 1pm and you could tell they get hit hard for lunch. They quickly cleared a table and sat us down. The staff was polite and nice.
I ordered the red curry with beef spicy. The food came out quicker than I expected which was nice. The spice doesn’t disappoint. The only thing I’m taking a star away for is that it’s a little watery for my taste and it was a little skimpy on the beef side. The vegetables were very fresh and it was very tasty.
The Thai iced tea was very good.
I’ll be back to try other things that’s for sure.

Bought the Pad See Ewe because why not? Asked for it to be spicy and they delivered.
The first thing I got when I was seated is a nice, warm soup of various spices. Upon finishing the soup, my Pad See Ewe came at the right time and comes with a dipping sauce and an eggroll. The eggroll was good and the Pad See Ewe is great. Water is nice, cool (not too cold and not warm), and yadda yadda. It cost me a total of $ 8.55. Quite blasphemous, I know, but I do not jest. It cost me less than $ 10 for good Thai food. If this isn’t tempting you to try Thai Basil, then oh well.
Will I be back? Definitely. I’m a lazy college student not wanting to walk more than 10 minutes to get food, so kudos to the strategic location.

Good. Quiet for a Friday night but food was fresh and piping hot. Pad Thai is pretty good — savory. Ordered it with medium level heat, and that’s good for me! Peanuty, spicy, savory and saucy but not runny. Definitely coming back

Best place for Thai in all of Chico.
The cook was nice as hell!
We talked about Bay Area stuff after he’d made our lunch and besides being an amazing chef, he was on point with politics and such. What more could you want?

I ended up with the yellow curry and I’ve forgotten what my friends had but it was amazing as well as was the Thai tea. I’ll definitely be going back sometime soon.
My only complaint is the lack of air conditioning or airflow of any sort. I know all too well that Chico is hot but I can’t imagine working in a hot kitchen when it’s 95° in the shade outside let alone sitting there and eating.

I love Thai Basil! Not so sure it is actually «authentic» Thai food, but it is very good. I would recommend the hot curry plates to anyone, sooo good!
However, be careful on ordering other plates hot, my boyfriend ordered a hot garlic plate and was struggling.
Good food, good price, good location… I love going here!
