Ordered a banana cake with cream cheese frosting for Mom’s 80th Birthday was so delicious. Not to overwhelming with frosting super most flavor. Each complimented the other. All the family truly enjoyed the flavor. Some enjoyed thirds. Thank you so very much will going more often.

A great bakery with delicious treats. The chicken salad sandwich is really good and better than your typical deli chicken salad. I ordered a lemon pie here and while I was in picked up some additional desserts. My family loved the treats. The lemon meringue pie wasn’t as good as most places I’ve had it at, but I think it’s just not their specialty.

All I’ve had from this bakery is a variety of baked items. While they are all tasty, they are all just too sweet. Baked items can be delicious without so much sugar. After a few bites all I tasted was sugar. Next time I will try some lunch items.

Upper Crust made our wedding cake and it was delicious. Many of our guests told us it was the best wedding cake they’ve ever had. We were really impressed by the variety of cake and frosting options they have and we were really happy with the help we got. They spent a good amount of time with us picking out the right size of cake, right flavors that complimented the rest of our catering, etc. And the cake was beautiful and just as described. Wedding cakes are always expensive, but ours was actually pretty reasonable, especially considering how high quality it was.

We have been here a couple times. First off there desserts are amazing, coffee is good. My birthday cake came from here and it was amazing! I only gave 3 stars for a few reasons… There only breakfast option that wasn’t pastry like is a breakfast sandwich, one that quite honestly was not good. I was surprised. Serve real breakfast and I will totally come here. Parking is a total bitch and some of the servers are not friendly at all. We had a older lady last time and she was actually great. The time before we had a guy that was totally unfriendly and obviously had a cold, wiping his nose on his arm while helping us. My boyfriend had the Aztec mocha and it was delicious.

I’ve ordered cakes from this bakery over the past few years. Everything from service to product has been great! I live in the Bay area. I called the bakery last night(3÷17÷16 @ 8:10 pm) to order a cake, not realizing the store had been closed almost an hour. A guy answered and politely took my order. He then apologized that he couldn’t take my payment information because the store was actually closed and the register closed out. It was no problem for me and I told him I would call the store in the morning with a credit card. He thanked me for the order and said good night. Wow. An hour after closing… and he was still polite! LOL! Called this morning, spoke to Rachel. Another helpful and friendly voice… AND…she had all the correct order information from my call last night! Payment made, pick up time confirmed… can’t wait to taste this cake! Thank you! :-)

This place is great. You can get your food quickly to go or sit and enjoy a coffee. Great pastries! After traveling around the world and indulging in all that I could, I’d been craving some pastries. These ones filled my cravings.

Upper Crust has been a solid Chico establishment for a long time. They have amazing desserts and are known for their custom cakes, pies, and treats. If you’re downtown and need a quick little snack or a cup of coffee, head here. But watch out, sometimes this place has a huge line, especially during the peak hours.

My friend loves this store and decided to bring me here. Street parking is nearby and it’s strange that the maximum time limit is 36 minutes. Anyway, we got in line and immediately was helped. I ordered the salad noodle size small to try it out. The salad noodle was all right. It was cold and bland. I tried my friend’s quiche and it was much better. If you’re here, I highly suggest ordering the quiche. I wish that was the one I ordered…

Oh my word! Discovering this place has been one of the best things that has happened to me in Chico! During my first visit, I got the tuna sandwich with a side salad. It was the best tuna sandwich I’ve ever had. And, it was a huge serving that I couldn’t finish it! I bought a mini cheesecake to go, and it was delicious. The second time I visited, I got a coconut macaroon. They’re HUGE. I honestly couldn’t finish it. It’s more like a macaroon mountain! I also got a frosted snickerdoodle cookie. Though I’m not a fan of snickerdoodle cookies, it was heaven. Their Russian tea cakes are also pretty good. So, I’m sure it’s a fair bet that all their desserts are to die for. I’ve got their grilled cheese and black bean chili before. The grilled cheese is huge and the best I’ve ever had. Gooey cheese on focaccia bread — what more could you ask for? I’m a huge chili/soup person, and the black bean chili is on point. Get the cilantro-sour cream mix in it. It adds a kick, and I don’t feel crummy afterwards. It’s perfectly filling. As you can see, I’ve never been disappointed. It’s a great place to have lunch while indulging in their pool of desserts. I’ll miss this place when I move away.

I love this bakery! They have the best éclair dessert! The black bean chili and the sandwiches are really good. A good choice for vegetarian options.

My guy and I just stopped in for a quick snack — a chocolate chip cookie and an éclair for him and I had the deviled eggs. He said the éclair tasted better than he had dreamed. He also really liked his coffee and got another to go. We like the outdoor seating and music on their playlist.

Had an evening to kill in downtown chico. Decided to go to Upper Crust to eat and use wifi to do homework. It was a nice pleasant place. Asked someone who seemed local what was good: «everything» but he opted for the almond brownie so I did as well. Very fair price wise($ 4 for 2 baked goods) Would go again

I come here to have great quality food. It’s small with a great ambience about it, I recommended the UC grilled cheese. It is hot fresh delicious bread with amazing cheese. As well the black bean chili is actually pretty great. Always a nice play to read a book drink some coffee and eat a delicious pastry.

Found my new spot to indulge in pastries! Everything we ordered was so good. The ham and swiss danish was so buttery and flaky and perfect. The southwestern quiche made my taste buds so happy! The clam chowder was also good, they add bacon in it which is a nice little touch. When I ordered lemonade, I was expecting Minute Maid but instead I got it freshly squeezed! The fudgie cookie with walnuts is so yummy! The cookie is so soft and the perfect size! My little one was in line to buy a fudgie and one of the workers bought it for her. It was so sweet and it totally made our day! Delicious food and kindhearted workers. We will definitely be returning!

Upper Crust caught my eye the moment I decided to move to Chico, and I was so thrilled at the potential of being a regular, enjoying the same seat each morning while I had my coffee and worked on homework. It took two visits to confirm that I will never elect to purchase from Upper Crust again. I’d like to speak on behalf of both the service and the product: The service: I felt as if I were inconveniencing any given staff member simply by entering the doors of Upper Crust. In each experience, I was never greeted, which is not necessary but sure is nice. My real tiff was an audible snort was made by the barista when I asked where they kept their cream for the coffee, paired with an extremely uncomfortable stare, and a reluctant nudge toward the milk counter that I obviously didn’t see. Additionally, I didn’t feel comfortable asking any questions about the product as they urged me to quickly make a decision. I’d completely understand had there been a line, however I had no customers waiting behind me. The product: this is where Upper Crust earns their two stars. They maintain really beautiful presentation, and I very much appreciate the variety of treats they offer. I’ve tried: a veggie quiche, Scottish shortbread, and espresso macaroon. While each were fair product, I did feel that the prices were steep for what you got. I remember paying $ 4 for a shortbread cookie. With a serious attitude adjustment, I think this shop could be exponentially more successful.
