I had limited choices for Doctors I could see per my insurance and chose Dr. Gupta without knowing much about him. I saw him a total of three times, within a few months(way too frequent if you ask me for a PCP). Dr. Gupta is appointment happy; need a blood test? Appointment! Need a RX, Appointment! –Even though you were there a week ago! The last appointment I was there, Dr. Gupta’s phlebotomist didn’t show up to work that day. I responded that it was no biggie, I would go to Baystate to get my blood drawn. He became hysterical, and insisted I come back to his office to have my blood drawn. I knew then he only cared about $$$. If that wasn’t bad enough, with my insurance I needed a Dr. to sign off on a form that stated the patient denied smoking. –Me. He out right refused. Without his signature my insurance was going to go up significantly. He stormed out of the office before examining me and slammed his private office door. I was speechless… I found another PCP and never returned. To sum up, terrible bed side manner, condescending attitude, and he cares more about money than his patients. I had the feeling several times when I was in his presence that he was only«playing» Doctor. He wasn’t very knowledgeable, having to rely on his ever present medical assistant. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has been in trouble in the past and that is why he needs a chaperon, ALWAYS. My advice, STAYAWAY!!!
