Lucky Dog’s Pub & Eatery

Lucky Dog’s is in a former Pizza Hut and retains the overall look complete with wood beams on the ceiling, but has been updated with paint and carpeting. There were four TVs in main dining room, so from most seats you could have a view of one if desired. They were able to construct a good sized bar where the pizza pick up area used to be and they offer pretty good daily beer specials. There was also a beer garden area offering outdoor dining.
The menu featured wraps, sandwiches, burgers, meatloaf, salads and soups. I ordered the oriental wrap with a spinach tortilla. I liked the addition of the water chestnuts and there was plenty of dressing but the grilled chicken was heavily processed and had that spongy texture. I wouldn’t order that again.
Mr. R had the meatloaf special which came with instant mashed potatoes and canned corn. The meatloaf was really good and I wish I had ordered that instead.

We all know that local places are often the best choices to go when travelling on business. Lucky Dogs is proof of that. If you find yourself in Chillicothe, IL, you must stop here. They have the usual variety of sandwiches and burgers, but one really stands out. The hand formed fresh Poker Face burger is served open faced, with swiss, sauteed mushrooms, onions, and au jus. Their homemade soup was a great starter.

Lucky Dogs is okay. I’ve had the burgers when I have eaten there. Burgers are decent but nothing to write home about. My husband likes it here, but if up to me we go elsewhere.

Came here with my brother and his girlfriend. This is a place they visit often as they live right up the street. I had the grilled cheese on rye and the unlimited salad bar. When my food came, I had potato chips on the plate when the menu said a choice of side salad or fries. The cheese was processed similar to Velveeta and the bread was toasted first then put in the pan. I’m picky about my grilled cheese but this was passable. The salad bar didn’t have many options but I was surprised to see they offered garbanzo beans. The locals like this place but I’m not sure I would want to go back.

Good food, great staff, and good beer selection. They carry the local Peoria Brewing Co. Beer on tap. Love the fact they are supporting local.
They have a good variety of food on the menu. Mostly bar n grill tpe food. Burgers, tenderloin, etc.
Many TVs around the room for sports fan and outdoor seating.
I had the chili cheese open face burger. Love the flavor of the chilli. Next time I think I’ll have a bowl. My wife had the grilled chicken n bacon sandwich. I had a bit of food envy. Chicken had awesome seasoning. I snuck a few bites :). I’m not in Chillicothe much, but will definitely stop in next time I come through

I thought the appetizer was great but when my food came (horseshoe), it was just okay. I would eat here again if I were to be in the area but I wouldn’t make a special trip all the way over there just to eat.
