I can’t decide if I love the food or the atmosphere of this restaurant more. Bruxie is in the middle of a large shopping plaza, yet the open concept, half-outside restaurant makes you feel like you’re in a hipster café and not next door to a bunch of chain restaurants. Bruxie is a chicken and waffles restaurant, plus some other breakfast items. The chicken and waffles are DELICIOUS. The chicken is soft on the inside, crispy on the outside. The waffles are good, but not good enough that I would eat them plain. Extra syrup on the condiments counter! They serve a dessert waffle with lemon custard and fruit on the weekends. Compared to the chicken and waffles it was a little disappointing. The fruit were fresh, however the lemon custard was a little too overpowering. The waffle would have been good on the side as a dessert, but for it being the same price as the chicken and waffles it was not satisfying nor filling. The Irish fries were good, but too heavy for it to be a breakfast item for me. Bacon bits, sour cream, fried chicken and french fries? Do you really think that will sit well in your stomach at 10AM? The restaurant is a family friendly, with lots of younger children. However, it was cute enough and open enough that screaming children were not an issue at all. Come here on a nice day(wait, when is it not a nice day in LA?). The seats are all«outside» and you’ll enjoy the fresh air.

Mmmmm, finally went to get their Pesto Chicken waffle sandwich, Carolina Pulled Pork Sandwich, a side of fruit, and Arnold Palmer. I am a fan of their Lemonberry dessert waffle and their Salmon Lox waffle sandwich from the original location in Orange, CA, so this was a nice surprise to find so close to work! I’d skip the fruit cup as it was not worth the $ 1.99. I thoroughly enjoyed how the flavors of the Pesto Chicken tasted, but thought their Carolina Pulled Pork sandwich was a bit too much on the oily side. I do like how their store is designed, but would love if couples wouldn’t sit near my BF and I and make out like no one is next to them. How annoying, right? Please do less PDA when you’re sitting at the huge table with other people. Other than that, I’ll definitely be back to this location to try their Chicken and Waffles on a Wednesday!

The good: the menu offers a variety. It never occurred to me that there could be so many variations on the classic combo of chicken and waffles. The price is cheap too and I liked their soda. The bad: They call themselves gourmet. You serious? One of the waitresses asked if I was done with the salt and pepper dispensers. Subsequently, I proceeded to look around at the other tables. I found out that my table had the only salt and pepper dispensers. For a restaurant to call itself gourmet and not have dispensers for each table is disgusting. My waffle was a little cold upon arrival as well. This is clearly aimed at people who just want to try something gimmicky — it won’t have a lasting impression. I don’t feel compelled to come back. I could seriously make this at home and I consider myself an amateur cook.

love how workers greet you when you first walk in they have menus on the wall and on the side of the restaurant for you to see before making the decision of what kind of food you want when I went in during the superbowl weekend they have poutine specials that was available for that weekend only ended up ordering the egg and bacon one and you ALWAYS want to make things into a combo since its cheaper and you always need something to drink with your waffles love how they are generous with condiments. they range from hot sauce, waffle sauce, ketchup, wipes, napkins, real raw honey, and etc there are plenty of seating inside and outside. you order and get your pager and they will bring the food out to you. workers also go around to ask how things are and ask if you need refills. customer service is always great here and i will definitely go back when I crave the waffles

Jesus Mothercluckin’ Christ!!! I just got their fried chicken and waffle skillet and WOW it blew my pants off and it flew all the way around the world and back onto my lower half. They tenderized the chicken breast so it’s not the nasty dry texture like KFC or your regular«I put it in the oven» chicken rubbreast. Their butter is sweet, but not so sweet that you’ll puke. Definitely worth it for this item!

MUCH better the second time around, so glad we gave them another chance! Service was on point, lines moved quickly, our food came out quickly as well and was tasty, cooked and presented well, fair prices and portions. I had the greek salad and added tuna, love that you can get it fresh and not premixed drenched in mayo, a light and tasty meal, liked the herb waffle accent which was a perfect for the tuna. My husband had the chicken skillet and loved it. Very good quality chicken, fried perfectly, though it would have been nice if it came with a whole waffle like the sandwiches to balance out the ratio to the chicken. We shared the chocolate filled liege waffle, two minis for $ 5 seems pricey, but they were very dense and filling, it’s really hard to eat much of them, not a huge fan, though the chocolate they used was great and i liked the idea. They really stepped up and I am impressed how much we enjoyed our brunch here yesterday!

Bruxie is a great alternative to your typical fast food burgers/sandwiches as they use waffles instead of regular bread buns. One would think that it is weird, but it somehow works in a tasty way. Tonight, I ordered the bacon avocado burger cooked to medium. It was simple and good, as it had applewood bacon, lettuce, avocado, some«special» sauce, and a beef patty. Nothing super special, but it’s good for the price. I didn’t order the Irish nachos tonight(cause gotta cut lol), but those are always good with your sandwich. I can’t speak for all of the Bruxie locations, but quality has been consistent between this location and Huntington Beach. It’s worth giving it a try! :)

Ok first and foremost, great helpful staff that makes this place feel not like a quick order fast food place, they acknowledge you by name and also are very helpful like a sit down place. Everyone was so friendly and worked like a team. The follow up was awesome. Now on to the food, we had the Rosemary chicken and waffles which I would have to say rivals a very high end places I’ve eaten in regard to detail of a fried chicken crunch and flavor. The waffle was tender and crisp only minor thought was it stuck to the paper on the basket as I sank my fork into the bite and wouldn’t lift off. The syrup wasn’t overly sweet. We also had the has and egg waffle served on weekends and it was off the chain! Great flavor and hit all the notes of flavor for me and left me wanting more. Desert was the lemon curd berry waffle. All I have to say is the sweet tart ratio was right on and lip smacking good. Like totally asking for the punishment of tart and the rush of sweet flavor to balance. Makes my mouth drool as I write this.

You’d think that by stuffing stuff in a waffle it’d make for just a really dry sandwich, but nah. It was good. Like, real good. Instead of a typical sweet waffle, you’re getting a nice crisp waffle that holds everything together really well. Food came pretty quickly and the staff is nice and friendly. :) I got the smoked salmon lox, can’t really mess that up and it was pretty tasty, my friend got a tuna sandwich and it must’ve been good because that was probably the first time I’ve seen her ever finish her food so that’s good news. But aw man them Irish fries. Like seriously it was just so good. That was the highlight of everything and I was kinda mad at myself for not finishing it or at least taking the rest home with me. I’m just a sucker for good cheese and I don’t want to be one of those people that obsess over cheese, but I am one of those people that obsess over cheese. And then with the bacon and green onion like that’s just the holy trinity, like a first class seat to flavor town. I don’t know, I was just expecting like a typical chicken and waffles, but those fries just have me feeling some type of way.

The Chino Hills location is at the Shoppes at Chino Hills, next door to Barnes and Noble. Parking can be difficult, if you want one nearby. Bruxie is a new take on a waffle and a sandwich, but the waffled used at Bruxie is not supposed to be sweet or savory. They’re airy and crisp, so you can use it in place of bread for sweet or savory sandwiches. On the restaurant’s Facebook page, Bruxie has been advertising their Chicken and Waffle skillet, and it was being offered only at the Chino Hills and Santa Monica location. Stephen and I drove up to the Chino Hills location with the purpose to try their skillet. Originally the skillet was offered after 4:00, but thankfully they changed it to being offered all day. I ordered the skillet, while Stephen ordered the week’s special: the Carnitas Torta. The Chicken and Waffle skillet was $ 3 more than the traditional chicken Bruxie, but I discovered it was also a much larger serving. The skillet had 4 pieces of boneless buttermilk chicken, however only ½ of a waffle. The chicken also had a slight kick to it, and it was infused with rosemary and other spices. Unlike the chicken Bruxie, it was meant to be eaten with a fork and knife, as syrup is drizzled over the chicken and a dollop of butter is on the waffle. The Carnitas Torta was a Bruxie with Slow-Roasted Pork, Black Beans, Cotija Cheese, Fresh Guacamole, Shredded Romaine, Chipotle Mayo and Salsa Fresca. It has a slight kick to it, but was another great choice. Bruxie serves up other savory items including burgers and breakfast. They also have sweet versions with the Banana Foster as one of my favorites. There’s also their dairy treats like their Wisconsin Custard, and coffee drinks.

I think this place is hyped up more than it should be. Their chicken and waffle combo is honestly not that great. BUTSTAYTUNEDFOR A SURPRISEATTHEEND(or you can just skip down). The chicken isn’t breaded and fried like anything we haven’t seen elsewhere; it’s all very standard. What they could’ve REALLY done to impress me was improve on was their waffle, because the waffle wasn’t very crispy, and got soggy soon after I drizzled syrup over it. TBH, Roscoe’s has way better chicken… but their waffle still isn’t up to standards. Either way, I haven’t found the perfect chicken and waffles place in SoCal yet. BUTBUTBUT, don’t worry, because they redeem themselves with a special item that I’ve never had elsewhere. It’s the nutella and banana sweet waffle. STOP. I know what you’re thinking. «Seriously? I can make that myself!» NO. It’s all about this special sweet and sour sauce that they spread on the inside of the waffle that is just the perfect compliment to your sweet waffle. IT’S DELICIOUS. I’d go there just for that dessert waffle.

After wanting to try this for long time, I finally had Bruxie for the first time. The concept of their menu is unique – replacing the buns and bread from burgers and sandwiches with waffles. This is definitely a place to go if you are craving some good ol’ fried chicken and waffles. There was a line out of the door when we went! That goes to show how good it is. You order it and pay at the front and it’s self-seating. We tried their savory waffles – buttermilk fried chicken and waffles, California pesto chicken, BBQ angus burger, and buffalo bleu chicken. The waffles are really light and crispy. I liked the BBQ angus burger and the buttermilk chicken and waffles the most. I ordered the buffalo bleu chicken, but I am sad to say that buffalo chicken and waffles don’t really go together! In my opinion, the spiciness and the sourness of buffalo sauce were mismatched with the sweetness, butteriness, and savoriness of the waffle. It’s disappointing because I like both waffles and buffalo chicken, but it’s more disappointing that they just aren’t a good match. I ended up eating them separately. You must get the maple syrup for the waffles! It makes it so much more delicious. I also liked their waffle fries. It is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The service was fantastic even though it seemed like a fast food restaurant. When we found a table, the workers immediately cleaned the table for us when we informed them that it were dirty. I want to come back to try their dessert waffles!

— Locale Destination — It’s on City Center Dr and Grand Ave in Chino Hills. It’s in a big shopping plaza, next to «Berns and Noble». Ambiance: It’s a lot bigger than the one in Orange. Kinda like a contemporary garage like feeling. Simple. Service: Very friendly, attentive. Parking: Plenty yet it was hard to find(probably due to the Christmas season). — Gluttony Expedition — Lemon cream & berries(dessert waffle): Waffle: kinda crispy and hallow, not so «soft» I usually like about«waffle». Very thin and small. Tastless. I don’t see anything«gourmet» about it except for the price — $ 6.5, I’m not kidding. One bite and I was over. Total let down. I’m a lot happier with 6 frostys at «Wendy’s» than this. Cold(probably it’s supposed to be cold. But I prefer«waffle» to be warm) and not so wow waffles is a total rip off. Lemon cream: It was drizzled kinda messy. It was a hint of «sour» lemon flavor, but nothing wow. Kinda cheesy and I don’t feel any quality. Berries: They put a few pieces of raspberries… Looking very sad. I think the total package was a big failure. Definitely not worth the price. Waffle fries: Good. Nicely cooked thick fries. This is the first item at Bruxie that made me think it was tasty. Belgian hot chocolate: Not bad but wow. Not so sweet, which I don’t mind. It didn’t have the depth, but it was alright. — Conqueror’s Deduction — I don’t get the hype of «Bruxie» at all. The waffle itself has a lot less quality than even the one at Disneyland. Actually the Mickey mouse waffle(when it’s fresh) is surprisingly great. Crispy outside and soft inside. I don’t like too much sweet syrup on my pancake nor waffle, though you mostly need it in order to eat it. The Mickey mouse waffle actually tastes great by itself. So this waffle at Bruxie doesn’t do anything to me. It almost reminded me of the frozen waffle… Crap. I also don’t like the waffle sandwich concept. It’s not a good combination for me. The waffle here is far from impressive, the chicken was as bland as the one at «Chick fil A». Very bleh. The word, «Gourmet» is almost false advertisement to me in this case(except for the price). I don’t know why this place is everywhere. I can’t be into this. I don’t mind the fries, but not anything else. This makes me think I shouldn’t listen to others for the suggestion of food…

Initially, I really didn’t have high expectations for this place… because I’ve had chicken and waffles before and it was a disappointment. But I came anyways because of the high reviews, my bf really wanted to try it, and it was on the way to palm springs. Upon entering, we were greeted with a high energy cashier who took our order. I ordered the chef’s favorite, eggs and hot pastrami. My bf ordered the most popular item, buttermilk fried chicken. Both were great choices, but I personally liked the buttermilk fried chicken more. The syrup glaze on the fried chicken made it very mouth watering, and I like sweeter things. And the most important part is that the waffle is not hard like a rock! It was actually lightly toasted, enough to give a crisp when you bite into it and not get your mouth all scraped up.

How overrated this place is! I was excited to see waffles everywhere but it’s what it looks like, mediocre. The waffles are basically like eggo waffles you but frozen in the store, not bad but not amazing! The basic concept: waffle sandwiches. Interesting idea! Piqued our curiosity but we may have hoped too high. I got the smoked salmon of course and the boy got the chicken and waffles. His wasn’t crispy and was basically just drenched in oil, making his waffles soggy. He didn’t love it and even though I’m not a meat eater, it didn’t look good at all. Not seasoned well enough and it looked drastically different from the chicken and waffles that comes in a skillet and only offered after 4 p.m. or something absurd like that(someone I guess asked for it and we saw it). My smoked salmon was less than mediocre. Overall it was quite plain and not enough smoked salmon flavor and I didn’t realize it was going to be accompanied by dill cream cheese. I need to read more because dill is not my favorite and everyone seems to think it’s he BEST herb on smoked salmon. My expectations were too high because I was hoping for a classic Belgian waffle topped with great ingredients because let’s be real, Belgian waffles are the only way to go! This assessment might not be complete and comprehensive just because we may have ordered the wrong things(and everyone around us seemed to have sandwiches that were tripled in size and looked more delectable), but if you’re in chino hills and looking for an interesting place to dine for breakfast or brunch, you should try this!

A friend and I went to this Bruxie location soon after they opened on a Friday because we were in the area. I’ve never been to this location before – I’ve been to other Bruxies, but I’m usually never in Chino Hills – but this location is nice and relaxing. It’s in a shopping plaza so there’s plenty of parking. Because we came soon after the restaurant opened, there were hardly any customers and we got our prime choice of seating. I think the longest part of our entire breakfast process was choosing what to order … there are so many things to try on the Bruxie menu! It’s always hard for me to deviate from the breakfast sandwiches that I know I love, but I usually try to get something different each time I visit a Bruxie. My friend and I had a great breakfast experience here – it was his first time visiting a Bruxie – and I’ll definitely stop in again if I’m ever in the area. Here’s what we got, as well as what I want to try next time: «Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Waffle»: This delightful combo features seasoned, fried chicken breast, chili honey and cider slaw. The all-natural, hormone-free chicken breast comes marinated in the eatery’s buttermilk brine and is served in between slices of that signature light, airy and crispy waffle. My friend loves the chicken and waffles from Roscoe’s, but he liked this breakfast classic. His sandwich was pretty similar to mine … mine just had more bleu cheese. But he said the chili honey was really good and the slaw complemented the chicken perfectly. The waffle had to be the crowning glory, though — he couldn’t get over how airy and fresh it was. «Buffalo Bleu Chicken»: Since I love bleu cheese, it was only natural that I would get this waffle combo. I was a little nervous about that buffalo sauce, but I ordered it on the side so I could drizzle it over my entrée at my leisure. This concoction featured fried chicken, buffalo sauce, crisp vegetable slaw and bleu cheese crumbles. I loved the tender pieces of fried chicken and the bleu cheese crumbles were sufficient. I love the strong flavor of bleu cheese and they don’t skimp on those cheese crumbles. The buffalo chicken sauce wasn’t too strong for my liking – much to my relief – but I still preferred getting it on the side. Definitely would order this sandwich again. «Carolina BBQ Pulled Pork»: I was tempted to get this sandwich, but I had tried one of the pulled pork ones before, so I decided to get something new. But, because I love pulled pork, I’m sure I would like this sandwich(in fact, I think I got it at another location but it wasn’t a regular menu item at the time). It includes slow-roasted pork, Carolina BBQ sauce, melted cheddar and cider slaw. I loved this sandwich because the pork was succulent and flavorful and the BBQ sauced added the perfect zing. I usually don’t like slaw, but in this sandwich, it complemented the savory pork perfectly. I look forward to getting it again one day. «Country Sausage & Egg»: Because I love sausages, I look forward to trying this breakfast sandwich one day. It comprises country breakfast sausage, melted cheddar, a farm fresh jumbo egg and mayo. Definitely sounds like a great savory medley. Let’s face it … anything with a fresh egg already has my stamp of approval. «BBQ Angus Burger»: Bruxie is always coming up with new menu items, and this burger caught my eye. Since we were going to have breakfast, though, I figured I would save this heavier menu item for a future lunch visit. This burger includes Carolina BBQ, cheddar, romaine, a secret sauce and onion strings. All 1⁄3 lb. Angus beef burgers are all natural and hormone free. I love the smoky flavors of BBQ; plus, this burger comes with onion strings inside it! «Buttermilk Fried Chicken Cobb»: It’s hard not to get one of those waffle sandwiches when you’re at Bruxie, but if I got a salad, this would be it. This features a classic California Cobb with warm buttermilk fried chicken and ranch dressing. All salads are made with fresh farm produce, scratch-made dressings and are served with a Bruxie waffle crisp. I do like cobb salads in of themselves, but I’m sure this one tastes even better because it’s got that buttermilk fried chicken with it.

Tasty sandwiches on a waffle. I love that concept. This location is located in a very popular/crowded shopping center in Chino Hills. It’s clean, and the layout is very nice. I especially like the patio. Its good for people watching. I couldnt decide what to get so i ended up with just a plain cheese sandwich. Blah. It was good but so simple. I ended up dipping it in syrup. Mmmm. The waffles are fluffy instead of crispy and buttery like i prefer. If it was a Roscoes style waffle on these sandwiches, they would be amazing! Nonetheless its worth a try. We had good service, and they make a strawberry lemonade arnold palmer thats pretty tasty.

Another over hyped up place. I know chicken and waffles is a hell of a combination, but I’m not sure why people rave about it here. The service was exceptional, they’re quick and friendly. A very busy place but they keep it clean. As for the food, the waffle sandwich is mediocre at best. I think a frozen waffle would have tasted better and have better texture. It’s soggy and bland. The chicken while it looked dry surprisedly wasn’t, and even still it was just decent. The syrup is the best part of the sandwich but I didn’t come here to smother my food in syrup. Along with the sandwich it come with some other fillings like cabbage or something. Whatever it was, it didn’t do anything for the sandwich, and it just made my impression of my meal worse. The waffle fries and chicken taste better at Chic Fil A. The Cream soda here is good, the rest is all hype.

Yessss waffle sandwiches!!! I came here for brunch and the bacon egg and cheddar sandwich hit the spot. I asked for my eggs scrambled since they usually come cooked over hard and it was great! The waffle was perfect. Not too hard or too soft. Putting the maple syrup on the sandwich elevated it even more! I also ordered the waffle fries which were good but nothing special. The strawberry lemonade was super sour for my taste so I diluted it with so much water. The restaurant is very causal and lots open space which also means lots of flies to swat away while eating. Good service and the prices were just alright. I would definitely come back here to try something else like the burgers or dessert.
