If you like those army packs that have noodles in them or those chow mien packs w/the already cooked noodles in a bag with water or whatever to preserve them, this place is for you! If not, you’re going to think the noodles taste sour along w/anything else that touches your taste buds. Waitress in a spaghetti strap w/tattoos and bra straps everywhere. The place was very dirty. Tables, workers, where the food was, etc. No smiles on the workers. ANDTHISPLACEISEXPENSIVE! Idk how because it tasted so bad… But it is. The eggdrop soup is like eggdrop slime. Dis. Gust. Ing.

Great food, however, the service was a bit unprofessional. The place was busy and only one waitress. Poor girl was running around everywhere! She was awesome but could of used some help. The manager was eating and left after he/she was done eating.

Went here with my brother and it was his first time at a Mongolian place. We enjoyed it. I love it that we can choose exactly what we want in our food. You really cannot complain. the only down fall is the price its a little too expensive for a small joint.

This place is love and hate… Was there yesterday for lunch(6÷25÷13) with my 3 kids. Food wise it was good, but the service had to be the worst I have seen. The place was not very busy the bowls to to load up with food we’re kept away and we would have to ask the waitress each time for a new bowl. Of course she never offered a new bowl. Also with the all you can eat, there is suppose to be soup with pita bread, it never came even after asking for it. Our drinks(water) were never refilled even after my daughter spilled her water and we had to move to a new table her water was never replenished, the waitress attitude not only to me but the other patrons is that she does not want to be working.

Bowls are way too small. Need to get that fixed. But they offer peanuts and an egg(although you have to ask for it.) That’s hard to find at a mongo place. Were out of multiple items. Waited around for them to replenish even staple items like onions and pineapple. Limited choices on the«juices.» I’d go back though!

Lazy workers. I came in at 9pm on a Saturday night and they were already cleaning up and getting ready to close. I asked if they were still open since they should be closing at 10, and the chef just said«uhhhhh –pause– you can eat here if you want». That should have been my cue to walk away. My bf and I decided to give it a try anyways. 1. A lot of their stuff were out and they didn’t even bother refilling it(beef, onions, garlic, etc) 2. My noodles had little chunks that were undercooked Needless to say, our server didn’t even check up on us once as she was busy chatting it up with her other coworker. Bad service + undercooked food? Never again.

Here I am again wondering whatever happened to customer service. Not sure what became of the old adage«The customer is always right.» Apparently, there is the owner’s «policy» that if some veggies or meat fall onto your tray, you are not entitled to it. This surplus goes into the trash. Nice waste of food. Interesting in that there is no mention of this at the prep station, only at the cook station. And when I question the cook, his response is «I can’t. The owner is here. Take it up with him.» Uhhhh… no thanks. I could just leave and take my business elsewhere. As stated previously, Firesword food is pretty good but way overpiriced. Dinner is $ 11.99 for one serving at dinner. I find most Mongolian BBQ to be priced at under $ 10 for AYCE. Do the math, fellow Unilocalers. And I won’t patronize an establishment where I am treated as if they are doing me the favor in taking my $ 15, after food, drink, and tax. No thanks. Back to Emporer in West Covina or Asian Garden in Duarte.

Went there today 11÷30÷12 to see what it was all about being a resident in Chino. Place appeared to be clean but could really not comment due to the fact I was taking my meal to go. Somewhat confusing with no pictures had to be explained by a staff member how they operated. Bowl size is extremely small for the price they charge. Staff seem to be young and learning as they go kinda thing overall the wait was acceptable. Basically boils down to being way over priced at $ 12.95 for a bowl of veggies(felt like a Communist being overcharged with a switch and bait trick)?! Never felt so robbed before in my life… should have went else where; But hey whats a guy supposed to do right. Will not be returning!

For a mongolian bbq place, they were pretty well organized at the bar. Long tongs make loading your bowl easy. Lots of choices of sauces, meats, and veggies. The chefs actually bring the bowl to you after you are done. They could use another stove as they were backed up big time. In addition, seating is confusing. We sat down at a table that seemed to be empty, only to have a waiter apologize and say that it might be taken. The seating organization or lack thereof takes a star off of my review. Tastewise its not the best one Ive been to but better than many others out there.

An all-you-can-eat Mongolian grill? What a novel concept! Too bad the execution was sorely lacking… I was looking forward to going here for my birthday after my girlfriend mentioned it. After we got there at 8 in the evening, the beef was just about out — however, the wait staff told us they’d bring some out for us in a bit. When we were filling our bowls, I noticed a lot of the ingredients were not replenished(in particular, the lack of green onions and baby corn stood out). It probably was just as well that we didn’t have the buffet option… When we got to the grill, we were asked if we wanted brown or white rice. Though we said brown, Kathy’s order came out with white rice — and no apology for messing it up, nor any offer to change it. As the cook who came to our table looked really surly, I told him I’d take the white rice as well(while mentally cursing him under my breath). Though the food turned out great — and while the Mongolian sesame pocket bread was delightful, we didn’t get the egg drop soup(we weren’t asked about that, either… hmmm…) — the wait staff’s attitudes kinda brought the experience down a notch. When we asked about getting a takeout container, our server said she would get us a couple. About ten minutes later, after seeing our server on her break without us getting our containers, we flagged down a different one. Four stars for the food, but subtract one for the service(and I wish Unilocal had half-star ratings, otherwise it would be one and a half stars), and this is a generous three star review. Maybe if we came during the day — when the ingredient table would be more full — and not at night, then perhaps the rating will be different.

Last night my mom and dad took me out to dinner to FireSword. I like Mongolian BBQ and looked forward to it. We got there and surprisingly, they were pretty busy for 7pm on a Tuesday night! We got seated and got menus and then the server brought us bowls. We got in the long line and made our dishes. The beef was pretty much out, so I asked the server if they could bring more out and she let someone know. A guy came out with a bag of beef and dumped it in the beef bin. I smiled and said, «YEA! THANKS!» and he just sort of ignored me and did not smile. I thought that was weird. But, okay. I made my dish, filled with meat, some veggies, some sauce, a little noodles and took it up to the counter. All of the counters were pretty messy. They could use some cleaning, but there really was not many employees. Just the female server and the young man cooking. I know there were a few people in the back… I’d seen the grumpy guy with the beef and then another guy had been at the grill briefly and disappeared and then there was guy who appeared to be a manager who appeared and disappeared. Once all three of us had our food cooked and we sat down, my pop was a little grumpy because no one had brought us any silverware. When he flagged the server down, she brought some forks, but no spoons, so then when they brought us some soup, he had to ask again. Plus it took awhile after each request to even get them. Weird. I was excited when I found that the meal comes with egg drop soup, because I LOVE egg drop soup. Ah, but not this one… I did not care for it. There was an odd flavor. Bummer. It also came with bread and with fried wonton wrapper strips. What was quite odd was that the manager asked for each item, «do you want the______that comes with your meal?»(soup, wontons, bread) I kept saying, if it comes with it, bring it on! The whole experience was just really odd. The food did taste good and the guy who was cooking it on the grill was friendly and genuinely seemed concerned that we enjoy and that we were happy with how it was cooked. I liked him. Overall, it was an okay experience. I guess the parents went there another time recently and had an awesome experience, so they were pretty disappointed. I went with no expectations, so I was fine. But, truth be told, I probably won’t go back. Just didn’t excite me.

Is it the best Mongolian grill in the entire world? Of course not. But it’s local, and the food is not disgusting by any means, so I am happy to patronize the place when I can afford it. I was a little disappointed the last couple times I went, because they were either out of the bread or out of the soup. And because both are so good, missing one or the other ruined my experience. I was also unhappy to sit down to eat one day and notice that there was a mess at the bar. If you’re familiar with these kinds of eateries, you know it’s kind of hard to avoid spills and slops while serving yourself. But in the entire half hour I was there, no one in the fairly empty restaurant bothered to wipe down the counter. Made me think about the booth I was sitting at and the table I had just put my hands on. As I’m a little bit of a germaphobe, I was a little grossed out. The staff is really nice, though. Kept my debit card safe and secure overnight when I was a dunce and forgot to put it back in my wallet before I left. Derp!

nice, modern décor for this clean restaurant. i can see why people complain about how the food bar does get messy because people do drop things over time. they should have a person who wipes stuff every now and then like at souplantation. a lot of complaints are about no hostess, etc. i could see how that would be a problem when it gets crowded. greeting by the young owner, he gave us two bowls which were bigger than i expected since Unilocalers were complaining about the bowl size. *man, people must be pigs!!!* take a look of what they have first before building your bowl. meats there were beef, chicken, pork, lamb. i don’t like lamb so i didn’t get any. didn’t really like the chicken sliced thin because after cooking, it became harder. i’d say your best bet is to stick to beef and pork. they have a variety of veggies, noodles, etc. many many sauces. the guy helped me with how many ladles of sauce to put in the bowl based on asking me questions of what i liked. i think if you stick to maybe…3 ladles of bbq sauce, 1 ladle of garlic, 1 ladle of ginger, 2 ladles of spicy(only about 5 out of 10 heat-wise)…that would be flavor enough.(i had a different concoction) you return to your table after they ask you whether you want white or brown rice. they serve egg flower soup while your food is cooking. my friend who usually does not drink egg flower soup said that theirs was actually good. your food arrives hot on a plate with the aromas of your creation. delicious sesame bread is also brought in a basket to go with your food. make your own burrito or eat it as is. pretty flavorful but it would have been better if the meat was marinated first. then again, that would make it more like korean bbq and not mongolian. putting ladles of sauce on doesn’t give it time to seep the flavor into the meat. for the friendly young owner, food, cleanliness, it’s a 4 star. i thought it was more expensive that i would have liked. but then again, i took home some food. 3.5 stars? well, there are no half stars * Unilocal! i’ve been askin for HALFSTARS since the beginning!!* suggestion: maybe there should be pictures with caption of several sauce combos. also pictures of what your bowl looks like afterwards. this would help customers decide how to make their own.

No good for me. Waitress didn’t greet us as we entered and the place only had about three tables of customers. Ordering was a challenge because the menu didn’t have pictures and the walls were bare. Maybe it’s not classy, but I think this place should have pictures of everything they offer. When we get Mongolian stir fry at the malls, my family of three can usually split 2 and have plenty left over. The waitress made us aware of the«sharing» price for guests who do not order their own entrees. She seemed annoyed that I asked. I noticed her ignoring other customers as they came in while she was busy writing something down on a piece of paper for an uncomfortable length of time. I think she just needs some customer service training. Food was the same as the mall chains. I think this place is confused. Trying to be a sit down restaurant using a food court concept. Pictures on the menu and the walls showcasing items you typically can’t get in the food courts should help. The menu descriptions alone were not enough to make me spend more money.

I am a Mongolian BBQ enthusiast. I was excited that Chino Hills was getting their own. Currently I have to drive to San Bernardino to get an authentic plate. I hope the owners are checking out their Unilocal page. This place will go out of business if they don’t change a few things fast. The place is obviously run by teenagers who don’t have a clue what Mongolian BBQ is supposed to tast like. Their sauces have no flavor. The final condition of the food tastes basically like boiled noodles and meat. They need to take their crew to an established Mongolian BBQ and get educated so they don’t go out of business. Hope they can make it! or turn it over to some one who knows what they are doing.

I’ve been called a lot of names in my lifetime, usually having to do with my ability to consume large quantities of food that could feed a small family. So whenever I happen to go to a mongolian bbq, I tend to get a little more than the usual bevy of insults. It probably has to do with my mission to make a stack of food so large that physics will eventually step in and go «NO! NOMORE! YOUSHALLNOTPASS!». The owners didn’t take too kindly to this, and instead of congratulating my effort to circumvent physics, they charged me extra. I understand that some appetites are larger than others, but they should at least inform customers when they’ll be punished for gorging themselves.
