Best food in chino hills. Favorite spot. Owners are very welcoming and nice. Food is very high quality and worth to visit. Will keep coming back often to support this restaurant.

I’m sorry the food was good but it’s outrageously overpriced. $ 10 for a salad??? My friend and I went to try this Lebanese place out. They give you a pitcher of water and the ambiance is nice. Very relaxing, the food is a good portion but I’ve had better for this amount. For two people it was $ 75, we got tandori chicken and Lebanese coffee($ 3.50 for a baby teacup), my friend got«white coffee». Honestly I wish I had gone to pizzita circle — great Mediterranean food for decent price. I’ve had wine, appetizer, salad and Meal for $ 75 that was just as good if not better. Sorry but not sorry. Don’t go here if your on a tight budget, I’m on a wedding budget and did not expect this to be my bill. All the 575 reviews probably checked pricing beforehand because I don’t see how a sane person would willingly spend this much for food that is good but not excellent upscale pricing. Your located in chino hills but closer to chino — bring prices down a bit. Also, service and food took forever to deliver our water, coffee and actual meal. They spent a lot of time chatting at other tables. Maybe because there wasn’t a lot of people or they felt because we’re young, we weren’t important — I don’t know… All that to give two stars maybe 2.5 if they had the option.

Where oh where do I begin? Can I just say I love it and be done? Would that be sufficient? Probably, but you wouldn’t know why. So that’s where I will begin. Being adventurous, but cautious(I do have stories from other restaurants when I’ve been adventurous that would cause you to gag), I did my homework on Mes Amis. What I mean by doing my homework was I practically read every single Unilocal review. Well not quite, I just multiplied several reviews by ten and called it a day. First, I highly recommend reservations. It’s a small, well decorated restaurant and table seating is at a premium. However, being blunt, I think that adds to the ambiance. I’m sure the food would still be outstanding if they were the size of a Cheesecake Factory location, but in all practicality the intimacy would be lost(as well as the elbow room). The intimacy and friendliness of staff was — and is, a big gigantic plus. For starters we opted for the«Mes Amis Journey.» The plate consisted of Pommes Frites(fries), Petit Kafta, Fattoush, Babaganouj. I’ve never had Lebanese food before, so I didn’t have any preconceived ideas about it. I realize to each, their own, but my taste is pretty flexible. So going in, I may rave about a dish and you may, for some unholy reason, not like it. There’s always Roscoe’s next door(smh). Pommes Frites: I can honestly say, I’ve never had fries made this way. They were delicious. I don’t even know what was on them, they were just goooooood. Trust me on this, I’m a french fry-ologist. Petit Kafta: These well seasoned, quasi-thick patties were so phreaken tender and tasty, I could’ve just ordered a plate of those by themselves(with the Frites!). Fattoush: The Lebanese salad was good addition. Flavorful. Babaganouj: I don’t do egg plant, but I do love saying the word«Babaganouj.» I ordered the Chicken Champagne. After artfully moving the cubes of egg plant out of the way, I enjoyed the slices/chunks of chicken in the champagne crème sauce so much so, I was taking my slices of bread and embarrassingly swiping the sauce off the plate. This is inappropriate, I know, but I certainly wasn’t going to use my finger or like a five year old — lick the plate. The Chicken Tanour(my date’s plate) was seasoned so exquisitely, I almost regretted ordering the Chicken Champagne. She was nice enough to share(puppy eyes always works!). The Hummus was, hands down, the best I’ve ever tasted — Aaaaand despite those that say«all hummus is the same,» uh, no. It’s not. *closes book* The service was great and personable. BTW, Mes Amis has a very nice wine list. I kept it simple and ordered something I was familiar with. But I do want to try a Lebanese wine and will do so on my next visit. I’ll upload some pictures in a little bit.

Can’t go wrong with any items on the menu. LOVETHISPLACE! What a little gem! I hate writing a review because I actually don’t want to attract attention to this spot as it’s a hidden little gem. But credit ought to go where credit is due. If you haven’t tried Lebanese/Mediterranean food, get out of your shell and give this spot a shot. Let your taste buds explore with all these different spices and flavors! The chicken is always a staple sureshot win. Never dried out, always tender, juicy and so flavorful! They just opened up another location in the Upland/Montclair/Claremont area. This is also a fabulous place for a date night, without having to battle the LA crowds! :) They also have belly dancing events, check their website or call for more information.

This is the best restaurant I have been to in the area. Food is very good, presentation is A+. You can have an elaborate dinner, a tasty(and fairly priced) evening meal or very affordable lunch. Try a mezza or three, I really enjoyed the Mamaganouj. Lamb and chicken has always been good. Extra credit if you enjoy it with a Gavroche. It is clean, friendly and the service is professional. Parking is not a problem. What’s not to like? Someday I’m going to save room for dessert

This is a beautiful place in a wonderful location. It’s well light and the service is very attentive. The menu is overpriced and there is an abundance of pressure to buy.

Mes Amis sells most of their entrees in the $ 10+ range but after my experience here, I would have to say that the prices are quite a steal — with Mes Amis, you not only get delicious food, but food that is beautifully presented and served by very friendly people. I had the Shish Taouk sandwich, which is deliciously well marinated and seasoned chicken set atop well-sauced greens and a flatbread. Since the«sandwich» was too large to be wrapped, I ate with a knife and fork but that didn’t stop me from savoring how wonderfully each element of the sandwich worked with another. I also had Rose Water Iced Tea(has free refills), which was slightly sweetened floral tea but was absolutely refreshing to have during lunch hours. It’s also strange to talk about the complimentary flatbread with the hummus dip with such praise but it deserves such: I’ll never see(or taste) hummus again the same way, especially since having it served with meat or pomegranate seeds. Mes Amis also has a colorful interior and it serves as a welcome change to the clean, yet bland outside, look of the shopping plaza — it screams festive without being overbearing. Even though Chino Hills isn’t exactly known as a food haven, excellent establishments like Mes Amis are starting to turn the tide — although I can’t think of many Lebanese establishments in the area, this one is a must for anyone looking for just great food.

Finally made it here after having it bookmarked for years and I live close so no excuses really. Service was excellent, patient and answered all of my many questions about the menu. We went with 4 of the small plates, cauliflower, koefte, falafel and the meat filled pastry. All 4 were very good, great flavors, beautifully presented. Portions are small so order up, we had no problem eating the 4 small plates as well as our entrees. My husband went with the special of the day lamb sliders and they were tasty, as well as the fries and magic sauce, it really is special and sets the dishes apart. I had the fattoush salad, also very good, light and refreshing, though I would have prefer it chopped like it is usually served instead of with a ton of cherry tomatoes, but the dressing alone made the salad worth ordering again. In all the prices are a bit high and the portions small, but the quality and flavors they serve along with the care and love they put into each and every dish is well worth the price and a must if you have not been here before!

First time here and the food was amazing! We made reservations for a party of 8(including 2 kids). Family friendly. We started with appetizers. In addition, we ordered a couple of appetizer platters to also share with everyone. Fried cauliflower, pomme frites, hummus, beef empanadas, and falafel were great starters for the night to share. My husband and I shared a beef shish kabob entrée that includes rice, hummus, and a side salad. Yummy and fulfilling. They didn’t have a kids menu so that was challenging in deciding what the kids would eat. We ended up ordering the petite Kafka(little beef patties) and fries with their magic sauce on the side. I sandwiched the kafkas between two slices of pita breads. They loved it! My kids also liked the beef empanadas. Although we were full, we couldn’t leave without ordering desserts. We shared some Baklava and Ashta(vanilla flavored Lebanese ice cream). Delicious! Excellent customer service. Our server was very accommodating with our large group(it gets a little crazy), but offered prompt service from when we first arrived to ordering. She also made the effort to frequently check on us and see how the food was and if we needed anything else. We will definitely be back again! Thank you Mes Amis for the fabulous food and service.

We ordered the mixed grill and the falafel plate… the flavor was unparalleled, but the portions were quite lean… regardless, we were able to get away ordering just the two entrees for the three of us. The fried cauliflower appetizer was amazingly delicious and I recommend it highly! The staff were very attentive and helped make our visit a very comfortable experience. … we will be back.

This place could be the best introduction to Lebanese food. This restaurant has all of the key elements that make me want to come back for more. Friendly staff, unique menu, and super delicious, fresh food. First impression of walking in this restaurant as a person who doesn’t know anything about Lebanon, I felt this Moroccan, desert vibe.(excuse my ignorance of Lebanon) This restaurant is well-decorated with many ornaments like hookahs and art, Arabian music(yes, a good break from annoying pop music on the radio), along with the appropriate shade for lighting on a hot Saturday afternoon. I really appreciate how the host was trying to find us a cool spot since the kitchen was nearby and the restaurant wasn’t exactly well-ventilated with A/C. Certain items on the drink menu that were refillable were very helpful to keep cool like the pomegranate iced tea, which I would recommend. Pomegranate Iced Tea was not sweet, felt healthy, good tea flavors with the pomegranate after taste, and delicious. Menu can be on the pricey side(even more pricey during dinner), but the food is promising. It’s fresh and definitely has a home style, made with love feeling. For appetizers, I’m a fries kinda guy and I love the Pommes Frites. Not soggy, thick amount of potato(none of that super skinny and just crisp). Who needs ketchup when you have their magic sauce! That sauce is quite special, I mean I like Animal Style and all, but this sauce is good too! I also really enjoyed their daily special, they served this beef stew apricot with rice, carrot, and orange. There were lots of good flavors going on in this dish, it was sweet, fruity, savory, meaty, salty, sour. It was hitting a lot of marks and none of the flavors were overpowering each other, all in harmony. Overall, very nice place to eat in Chino Hills. I’m definitely coming back to try other items on the menu.

A wonderful dining experience and top notch service. I called at dinner time because they reopen at 6pm and made last minute reservations for same evening. Seated comfortably at a nice table on back side of restaurant. The place is not very big so it can fill up quick. Nice thing is the tables are not stacked on top of one another. Good mixture of families and couples. I studied my Unilocal friends’ reviews before walking in. Glad I did because the cauliflower was out of this world. Never had anything like it. It was so good that I ordered a second serving. We started with an appetizer plate, the Phoenician Journey $ 22, which comes with the same amount of fried cauliflower as an a la carte serving, $ 9. Ordered a few beers. After looking over my receipt this morning I think they gave me one free beer(or forgot to charge me for it. I’m a half glass full person). We were in a rush bc of a movie we were headed to watch so I gave my card without looking at check. I will return the good karma to someone. The waitress recommended that we share a meal because the appetizer is plentiful. I’m glad I listened to her because it was a lot of food. Decided on the Mes Amis mix kebab, $ 35. Comes with three meats, chicken, steak, and lamb. You’re able to substitute kafta, ground beef patty for the lamb. The kafta reminded me of the best tasting meatloaf. By the way never had the best tasting meatloaf, if you know a place let me know. The mix has plenty of food on it. I tasted the rice but it was just rice. Everything else was wonderful. The hummus was so good. They give you plenty of pita bread as well with appetizer and main course. I thought the beer like Almaza was overpriced at $ 7/bottle but at least it’s less expensive than a sporting event, fair, or concert. The service was great! The servers were so nice and explained things to us and answered all of our questions. Overall, not too expensive. Roughly $ 100 for 2 and left $ 20 tip. I cannot wait to go back and try some more good food. Check the hours before you go. Happy eating!

1 star to thank the waitress for not letting us waste our money here. Yay. I was here with my family on a Friday night. It wasn’t busy and there were a few tables open, but we still had to wait about 10 min to be seated. Once we were seated, the hostess went through the same routine of wine of the day and gave us the drink menu. Since it was just the drink menu we were quick to figure what we wanted and were just waiting for the waitress to take our order. Several minutes passed by and NONE of the waitresses acknowledged us. If it was busy I can understand, but it wasn’t. And one of them just stood there staring at the kitchen. I felt discriminated as the two tables of white people(what a coincident) next to us being served while we were left alone. We then walked out of the door after having wasted about 30 min at the restaurant. I can’t speak for the food as they never gave us the chance to try it. As for the service, there weren’t any.

This is probably one of the best places to go in Chino Hills. The food is great, the ambiance is great, and overall experience was great. When you walk into this restaurant, you are transported into another world. It feels more like a fantasy or make believe world. That is how fully immersed you are into the restaurant and how well they decorated the place. To add to the great ambiance, the food is just as good. Being my first time, my girlfriend and I tried to get the options that carried the favorites and had the most options. For the appetizer, we got the pommes frites and a couple beers. The sauce on the frites is to die for. I don’t know what it was, but we devoured the bowl. We then shared sampler plate that came with the 3 meats, chicken, beef, and lamb. The plate is just a good looking as it is tasting. The plate also came with Pita, Rice, Tomato, and other items that I can’t pronounce let alone spell. The plating was excellent. It definitely gives anyone a great night out. Service is awesome, and overall experience tells me that I am will visit this place once more and more and more.

We had another delicious experience at Mes Amis. Five words: lunch lathered with magic sauce! Mes Amis is located in an interesting business center on Pipeline Avenue in the city of Chino Hills. The location has been open for several years, which makes all of very lucky. To prepare us for our entrée, we ordered our favorite starters: Fried Cauliflower with Magic Sauce and the Pommes Fritas which is also massaged with Magic Sauce. Quick Tip: The Magic Sauce is for sale. The cauliflower was fried to perfection, and the fritas were cooked perfectly. Although both of these starters are very filling(especially for lunch), you must order a well-priced entrée. This is the second time I had the Chicken Shish Kabobs with rice, tomato, and hummus. The lunch portion is very large and significantly lower priced than the dinner price. Each time I have had this entrée, the chicken was cooked in a way that did not require a knife(AKA moist). If you choose to order the appetizers described above, you could actually share the entrée, but we never do. If you are an iced tea fan, they have a hand full of options, which is refreshing. The service is as good as the food. Our servers have always been attentive and appreciate the customers’ presence. If Mes Amis reworked their dinner prices a tab, we would visit even more often!

Discovered this place while I was visiting Chino for the first time & thanks to Unilocal pictures, their food captured my eyes immediately — A+ on presentation. I was highly pleased in finding this spot randomly & my girlfriends were not disappointed. The ambiance of this place feels like you are definitely in the Middle East with a stylish/elegant taste & the music had a serene charm. Everything was appetizing from the abundance of spices to the savoriness of each dish. What I enjoyed the most was the lamb plate(tender & flavorful) & fried cauliflower(the Magic sauce! Enough said). But, I thought the beef empanadas were okay. the seasoning was slightly overwhelming for my taste. The grill chicken on the open-face sandwich also tasted dry to me, I was quite disappointed on that. The man here thanked our table for the pleasant visit & checked to make sure we enjoyed everything. Awesome service. Will return again!

Celebrated my birthday early this week and came here on Saturday for lunch. We arrived right when they opened. Our lovely waitress actually walked in the door with us and she immediately greeted us and shortly sat us at our table(group of 4). The music and décor have you feeling like you’re dining in the Mediterranean. Had the rose water iced tea to drink. For our mezzas, we had the sweet potato fries and the sambousek. The fries were my absolute favorite appetizer(even better than the regular fries I had during my last visit). Chef Sammy’s magic sauces really shine in presentation and taste. The Sambousek is an empanada, Lebanese style with ground beef and other ingredients. The texture has a unique nutty crunch, yet maintains the perfect bite of an empanada. Didn’t realize how small it was to share for a group of 4 though. For my entrée I had lamb tenderloin grilled shish kabab. Plate comes with rice, hummus, grilled tomato and zucchini, and onions on the bottom. I devoured my plate. I don’t know what kind of rice they use(yellow colored) but it’s great and different from your standard white, brown, and asian fried rice. The lamb was cooked perfectly. I was left wanting more. Pita bread is also provided. For a lunch size plate, this is huge in comparison to other Mediterranean restaurants. Yum! The Verdict: Service: 5⁄5 Our waitress was attentive and always had a smile on her face. Chef Sammy personally came to our table to deliver our Mezzas. Food: 6⁄5 I’m going to have to come back here again. I just love their lamb. Price: 5⁄5 You get what you pay for(better than dinner pricing too).

This is the BEST, fancier place to eat in Chino Hills. A true gem. Sammy, the owner and master chef is the sweetest, loves to mingle with his customers. Very cute décor. Adorable set up to take pictures in the entrance. Perfect place to take a date with mood lighting and soft traditional middle eastern music and ambiance. I’ve come here on special occasions a number of times. A bit pricey if you get drinks, appetizers, main courses, and dessert, but worth it! I’ve love everything that I’ve ordered this far! Last time I was here was for Valentine’s day, my date and I ordered rose water champagne, chicken tanour, lamb rack, and white coffee. Sammy made the rice red because he knew it was a vday date. Waitresses were very attentive too. Overall a great experience, 5 stars!
