Empanadas To Go

Best empanadas I’ve ever had. Everything about them is good. Perfect amount of filling, perfect dough ratio, plenty of savory and sweet options. This is purely a to-​go place, if you couldn’t tell by the title. The empanadas average $ 2 each.

The meat ones that we enjoyed were the carnitas. I would definitely go back and purchase some more of the sweet empanadas. Dulce de le leche were so yummy.

As promised, I did return.
I was in the mood to gorge myself with something off-​limits according to my alleged dietary restrictions. Empanadas. Fried empanadas. With meat. Is it terrible that I like their fried ones better?

I discovered my new favorite is the Saltena. Yum! Saltena and Criolla are my favorites so far. I kind of feel like a glutton after eating all four of these. They definitely were a success for my belly!
I rarely drink soda, but I grabbed one of those Inca Kolas out of curiosity. Not bad for a soda. Kind of like drinking… bubblegum. Totally getting that again.
I offered up the suggestion to the girl there that they should offer those yerba mate teas as well. I’m pretty sure there are plenty of people who are curious to try it, but are too intimidated to buy the huge bag and the fancy tools that come along with it.
It’s also a good idea to call in your order ahead of time.

This place is a teeny hidden gem in Chino. I tried a baked empanada, and a fried one; go for the baked ones!
I recommend the saltenas and the criolla!
They are getting pretty pricey though (the meat empanadas are about $ 2 now). I would recommend getting at least 3 empanadas if that is all you will have for lunch!

My husband and I tried this place after we Unilocaled «best empanadas.» Since this was so close we decided to give it a try. I ordered over the phone for pick up and when I got there 15 minutes later they were ready. They were very nice and professional. I ordered a chicked empanada and my husband had the steak. Let me just say Im glad we went. Both empanada were packed with meat and flavor. We will definitely be going back soon. The only negative thing I have to say is that I wish they were bigger but thats only because Im a foody… lol
