I’ve eaten at a lot of Cracker Barrel’s but I’ve never really been a fan. The food just frankly isn’t anything to write home about. I’m not sure why today was different but I ordered the Oldtimer’s Breakfast with scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, hash brown casserole, and biscuits n’ gravy. Everything was delicious. It was busy here today probably because of high school graduations happening today so it was loud. Our servers were ok but forgot half our table’s order so we had to wait a few minutes more than everyone else. Im not saying that I’m a fan now but at least I found something that I like here.

A total disappointment, the food was inedible, ordered the sample platter, got steak fries, corn as the sides, the corn was not drained so the fries were wet and all the food on the plate was cold, the dumplings were uncooked in the middle and in a white sauce that tasted like glue, the country ham was so tough it was like chewing stale jerky, the biscuits were not even hot enough to melt butter, this was at 6pm. The food was a major reason I will not return to any store in this chain.

HEYCBMANAGEMENT, WAKEUP and close at 9 if you can’t help your customers who show up «late» at night. Here only because everything else other than fast food is shuttered after 9PM. It’s 9:10PM& nobody at host stand, had to wave down a server who plunked me down w/o offering a drink. Waited 5 minutes for nobody to come, so I gave an inquisitive eye to a lady lurking in the kitchen and she waved over some kid who hastily started over to my table then got cut off by the only other server running the floor(and who ignored me up until this point) saying«I got him» to the kid(throttle down the dominance, will you?). Ordered two specials, this what turned out to be a disgusting«cobb» that had cold mayo slathered chicken chunks, with CANNEDPEAS, and overkill ranch. I figured I would eat some dessert at the same time and got the special lemon cheesecake french toast with strawberry dipping sauce which was OK until I realized the egg inside the FT was not even cooked, it was raw. Dominator Girl then asks how things are and I say«since you asked, the FT is gross, it’s not even cooked» to which she replies, «Oh, I haven’t tried it yet» and walks off. No apology, no offer to fix. Then, as I try to pay my bill, another sweet Japanese couple in front of me say they’ve been there 5 min and haven’t seen anyone. I then lean back into the restaurant and ask the server how to pay and just then a girl pops out and helps us with our escape. She asks if everything was good, I tell her«no, not really» she asks why, I repeat uncooked FT story quickly, and she says, «oh I’m so sorry» while taking my cc and doing nothing about it. I’m not a Barrel aficionado, but every other experience has been home-down fine. This was a genuine exception of bad food and clueless customer service.

We order Cracker Barrel to go periodically, and out of the 15 or so orders we’ve gotten over the past 3 years, they’ve only gotten the order correct once or twice. The main problem is them leaving things I’ve paid for out of the bag. No biscuits, I order mashed potatoes and gravy and they leave off the gravy, sometimes I get something and I have no idea what it is and why it’s in the bag. It’s as if there is no process in the back for handling these orders. One Thursday I went to pick up an order at 930 pm and waited until the lobby until after close, and they had forgotten me in the lobby. They locked the place up and I was wandering around inside. My suggestions to management would be to monitor what these kids are doing. It’s obvious they don’t care, and that’s a problem.

I love this place. Breakfast all day and the name keeps away the rift raft!

Visited for a late lunch on a Sunday… We had about a five minute wait before we we were called and led to our table. It was a few more minutes before someone came to our table to take our drink and dinner order which was another girl trying to help out our waitress. A few minutes later our actual waitress brought us our drinks, my son ordered a water and I got a strawberry lemonade. My son ordered the French toast and sausage and I ordered the ribs, macaroni and cheese, sweet potato and cole slaw and of course biscuits. Our meal arrived about 15 minutes after we ordered it. I noticed right off that I ordered biscuits with my meal and it came out with one biscuit and one corn bread. I asked the waitress for more biscuits which she did bring back to me with no more jelly which I then had to ask for as well and was delivered a minute or so later. The ribs were definitely not anything I would order again. They were somewhat tender but did not fall off the bone and were not soft. Also the flavor was not a good choice. The sweet potato, macaroni and cheese and cole slaw were excellent. The French toast that my son ordered must have been great because he ate all four pieces. He only took a bite or two out of the sausage. Our waitress never came back to our table to ask how our food was or if we needed anything else. She did come back to drop off our ticket and then asked how our food was and I told her that I wanted to order dessert. She then took back the ticket and took my dessert order. I ordered the baked apple dumpling. Before my dessert came back she came and dropped off our new ticket(while my son and I were away in the bathroom) she brought our dessert a few minutes later and put the dessert in front of me and made sure I saw the check and walked off. The dessert had no spoons with it… Luckily there was one spoon still left on the table for me and my son both to share and there were no napkins. The dessert was delicious as always. We never saw our waitress again. I have never had such bad service at any Cracker Barrel I have ever been to. I also was shocked that 4 pieces of French toast and sausage was $ 11.00. My ribs were the same price… $ 11.00 for French toast is ridiculous and I do not ever remember paying that for it in the past. I will return to Cracker Barrel because the food is always delicious(except the ribs) but hopefully next time we will have better service.

Love cracker barrel for breakfast but for dinner, not so much. Had some terrible chicken thing. I seem to be always looking for a chicken pot pie and they never have it. Soup and a half sandwich would even be ok, but thus far yuck, nothing to write home about. So add since i love them for breakfast

Really disappointing. Meatloaf was dried out, burned on top, and it was the smallest portion I’ve ever gotten at a Cracker Barrel. I guess that’s ok since it wasn’t good anyway. The biscuits was hard little disks. Very odd. I’m super bummed since I look forward to eating here when I’m traveling. Not sure I’ll risk it again.

We’ve never had a bad experience here, but I do seem to think the portions sizes are off for the price so it routinely gets left out of our list when trying to decide what’s for dinner.

The hubby and I stopped by early on a Sunday morning. The waitress Angel was fantastic. The food was served quickly and was the usual Cracker Barrel fare. I would recommend this CB and would definitely return!

Be warned!!! This is a filthy place breeding deadly disease. I got infected with two DEADLYPARASITES at this location of Cracker Barrel in Christiansburg. They infected me with Trichinella and Strognyloides. The parasites came most likely from their undercooked pork sausage or cross-contamination that happens when cooks dont wash their hands properly and pick up bread or some other things like a plate with the same hands! Touch pork and the touch the plates! I was so so sick and almost died from it. And I got infected with the parasites twice at this place, before I figured out finally where I was getting sick. Also waiters and waitresses are also so dirty. They clean the floors, wipe their hands on aprons, and they then serve your food with same dirty hands, their fingers all over your plates!!! Yes I saw this happen. If you got sick eating here, with all sorts of symptoms, abdominal pain, debilitating fatigue, nasea, inability to breath, you can bet you got infected with strongyloides or Trichenella. Have yourself checked for them. These are killer diseases, and you will die from them. Most doctors cannot even find them through regular blood tests. I had to go to the Center for Disease Control to get a diagnosis because regular blood tests showed nothing. I was just visiting this place on the way to DC. I often visit the area for conferences. My advice: AVOIDTHISPLACE at ALLCOSTS; OREATHEREATTHECOSTOFYOURLIFE!

Always have consistently good food at Cracker Barrel restaurants. My husband had the breakfast sampler and I had broiled catfish, rice and broccoli. Today(1−10−15) we had an exceptional server named Jimmy at around noon. Jimmy, thanks for brightening our day.

Good cheap greasy food. You certainly get your bang for your buck! Try the steak or shrimp and hushpuppy combo. For sides, go with the baked sweet potato or Mac and cheese.

The management here always keeps the food consistent and quality. It’s often one of the only local restaurants open past 10, and if you’re coming from the interstate it’s a very convenient spot to stop and 10x better then fast food. Cracker Barrel is also an awesome place to stop in the winter, because it has a giant fireplace and is always really warm. Order some hot tea and something simple, like grilled chicken or a burger.

Food was pretty good for a chain restaurant… We felt rushed when the waitress brought our check about 5 minutes after our meal arrived… No dessert I guess

The flow of service here is expertly orchestrated. Even though the place was very crowded our name was called within a short period of time. Our orders were taken shortly after seating and the food arrived promptly as well. The roaming manager also checked on us to see how everything was. The food here is country home cooked comfort food. The meats are tender and flavored well. The sides are equally as good. I was impressed in particular with this Cracker Barrel. The customer service was stellar and the food was impeccably prepared

I’m usually very game for a breakfast highway stop at a Cracker Barrel. And when it comes to breakfast I am not hard to please. Out of two dishes the only thing worth a damn was the bacon, and it was very good. Everything else was crap, from eggs to biscuits. Service was pretty fast, food had me wishing it had taken longer.

Don’t ya just love them Cracker Barrels? All of us from the south sure do! The first thing to greet us are the long rows of Rocking chairs… then you walk in to their country store gift shop… if you make it through there unscathed, you’ll reach the restaurant. This particular visit I had the Fried chicken strips on a big salad with a diet coke. My friend ordered the Chicken tenders with green beans and mashed potato’s, my husband had the salad as well. We loved it as usual. They bring you the complimentary cornbread while you can play the tiny golf tee game at the table. This is also the one restaurant that still serves real Cream sodas in a bottle.YUM. So get off the interstate and slow your pace for some good home cooking. You’ll be glad you did.

He said, «Well this is the first time I have ever gone to eat a Craker Barrel at 6am… and after sleeping on the side of the rode in a cramped care with my beautiful girlfriend… this is what we needed. I had an old timers breakfast and it was just cooked right. Its not greasy like waffle house where you leave like you are about to have a heart attack. The hashbrown casserole is the best thing i’ve tasted for a breakfast side. Well I would say I would go back but this was a road trip breakfast… so we will see.» She said, «I think my boyfriend summed it up pretty well… we stopped there because we were on a road trip so i doubt we will go back to this same one, but cracker barrel in general is always good. The food is never greasy and very fresh tasting. The eggs are scrambled just the way i like them, not like the microwavable type at waffle house. The hashbrown cassarole is bangin and so are the sauguage patties. I never can finish because it is very filling but its delish. We will find our own cracker barrel in MD, the staff anywhere you go are always very friendly.»
