I use to love this place when it first opened. Dawn and her husband were awesome, and they place had charm. After they left they place went downhill quickly. Service is sooo slow. It usually takes about 20 minutes to get a latte, and if you’re going for food… well get comfy you’ll be there a while. The place use to be uniquely decorated with cool and interesting things to find around every corner. Now it’s almost all been removed, and it’s just blah. Sadly, they’re really the only place on that side of town to get coffee, but you’re better off driving across town to starbucks and then driving back to this side of town, because it’ll still be faster.

I went to Lucie Monroe’s because everyone raved about it. The good news is the food was good and coffee was great! which is the most important thing. The reason I didn’t give it a higher rating is more for superficial reasons. The ambiance was not great, the fluorescent lights need to go hahaha.(Although there are a few nice nooks.) I noticed there were hardly any pictures or décor of Lucille Ball or Marilyn Monroe except for in the bathroom. Which is fine… I guess I was just excited for a classic Hollywood feel. The girls behind the counter were civil, but by no means overly into the customer service thing. So, this review isn’t very helpful, but if you are looking for a warm atmosphere usually associated with coffee shops keep looking. If you are wanting to meet for business, book club or church meetings stay and enjoy :)

I love this sweet little place. The dirty Chai is one of my favorite drinks there. It’s great that they offer GF options too!

Lucies is the best! I love going there to do homework and relax. I’m extremely grateful for the wonderful service and coffee. I wish the WIFI was stronger but other than that, Lucies is great!

I absolutely love this place!!! Been a regular for years. Not only the coffee and tea drinks are amazing, their breakfast lunch and Dinner menu is great. Even for those that watch their carbohydrate intake, there is delicious food options. The bakery items are fantastic though it’s not quite the same as it used to be. That maybe due to employee turnover rate but the items are still very delicious. I miss the gluten free items as the gluten free cookies, that I haven’t seen in a very long time, was better than traditional cookies. The employee turnover rate is quiet high. I miss the familiar faces.

Great place for coffee and they have an amazing selection of teas. There is a selection of seating areas and a small alcove with comfy chairs. However, some of the tall chairs near the window need to be replaced because the springs are just shot! They serve food and bagels. The bagel comes with sliced apples, which is a nice touch. I just wish they had a selection of biscotti. Even packaged ones like Nonni’s would be OK. Sometimes they have cookies, but often times I just want something like biscotti to go with my Latte. Also wish they were open on Sundays, at least in the mornings.

This wins the most surprising stop in a very good way. We wanted a quick coffee stop were on our way home from North Carolina. Unilocal did not let us down. Good coffee. Good service. Nice interior. I got the dirty chai(shot of espresso added) and the kids got smoothies. The amazing restrooms were an added bonus.

We stopped in while visiting VT after finding all the reviews on Unilocal. The tea was amazing and the Marilyn Monroe was very good. The guy making the drinks was nice enough, but standoffish. He was more focused on convincing his girlfriend that he wasn’t interested in another girl he worked with, than actual customer service. We went in the evening and was going to do dinner there since it is also a restaurant, but when asked about the soup of the day the guy was hesitant before saying that it was good to eat. We passed on eating there and just got the drinks. I was grateful we passed when I heard him tell another employee that the soup needed to be thrown out at the end of the night because it was a couple days old and getting a little gross. I would really give this place a 3.5 star rating, but that’s not possible. If you are wanting a good coffee or a good cup of tea, then this is a 5 star place for that. However, I definitely cannot recommend eating here after what I was told and then overheard just moments later.

Best café in the area. Cheaper than Panera Bread, and better in every way. They have great expressos and lattes, and a great interior. Their breakfast foods and pastries are also better than most restaurants in the area

Lucie Monroe’s has a really cozy and intimate atmosphere. I loved coming here on coffee dates with friends. I always got their regular coffee which is really strong and tastes delicious if you’re a coffee lover. There is limited seating, especially if you want to stop by to do work or something; but overall, it’s cute and small. The wifi is also not very reliable at times. However, overall, the service here is also extremely friendly which makes the experience better!

Great Lattes and Sandwiches, especially the wraps. By far the best café in Christiansburg, even the interior is clean and pretty. They have a drive through, but they want you to call ahead if you want sandwiches. The chicken and bacon wrap is really good

I was visiting Blacksburg for the weekend and was SOHAPPY to find this gem. I ordered a Marilyn Monroe and an egg bagel sandwich. Both were delicious. The baked goods looked heavenly. I had to fight myself not to buy all of them. They are pet friendly so I was able to sit outside with my dog. The atmosphere was also really cool and relaxed… I guess your typical coffee shop. If I ever find myself back in Blacksburg, Lucie Monroe’s will be one of my first stops!
