Dr Kourainey is the best oncologist! This man got me through breast cancer. I will be eternally grateful to him. He checks your blood every single visit. Gets the results for you before your appointment is done. He personally did my chemo treatments cause he didnt care for the fact his staff couldnt get a needle in me. He is very passionate about his work and compassionate with his patients. I reccommend him very highly. I know other cancer patients that also feel as I do. Love you Dr. Kourainey and thank you from my heart. …Michele Dewhirst

My primary recommended DR. Macias for my infusions. She is part of the staff at this Oncology office. When I first called them even after my primary called the Dr. to let her know I need the infusions ASAP they still had me on the phone for over 15 minutes being transferred from one office worker to another. Not a good start. They did fax me over the paperwork to fill out as a new patient and boy was it a lot of paperwork. The most glaring part was the paperwork stating in several different ways that I would be responsible for anything the insurance company does not pay. That is actually reasonable and no concern to me as I have Blue Shield PPO. Now I just had to confirm with Blue Shield the she was a PPODR. I used BS web site but could not locate her there. I then called BS and they could not confirm she was a PPO Dr. I called back the office and yet again I was transferred around the office. When I finally was able to speak to someone she did not seem the least bit concerned. And why not she is not the one that is signing the document making me responsible for the payments if the Insurance Company does not pay. I asked her since I was unable to find any documentation at BS about this doctor being a PPODR could i get a letter or note verifying that she is a PPO Dr for BS. I thought it was a reasonable request and so did the office worker on the phone. When I arrived for my appt. today I requested that letter. We went back and forth for awhile until she finally said we are not going to provide you with a letter stating that we are responsible if the insurance company does not pay. I agreed with her that she should not give anyone that type of letter. I just want what the other office worker promised me when I arrived at the office for my Appt. proof that this Dr. is a PPO Dr. for BS. She then tried a different tactic on me. She asked if I checked to see if I checked to see if Dr. Al-Kourainy was on BS’s list? I said no and why would I? I was never informed by your office to check him out because I was not seeing him. I do understand that some offices the Dr’s share the PPO under one Dr’s name. I also understand from a previous bad experience that this is not alway the case. The doctor that they had me sign about being financially responsible for was a strongly not to be misunderstood document. The real kicker of this is two things. 1. When I said if I can not be provided proof that she is a PPO for BS I will have to leave. She said that’s ok. 2. After I left they contacted my primary Dr. to complain about me instead of contacting me and trying to correct the problem. In conclusion I can not say how good or bad these Dr’s in this office are but I can say that the office staff is uncaring and will say anything to just get you in the office!
