Concordia Preschool and Childcare Center

I highly recommend Concordia Preschool! I have had several coworkers who had previous children attend this preschool recommend this school to me. At first I chose another preschool nearby that was cheaper, but I only had my daughter in there for a month because I was unhappy with their curriculum and they did not check to see who I was before picking her up from this other school. That was unacceptable. I then took the advice of my friends and coworkers and decided to visit Concordia. My husband and I met with Mr. Partch (preschool director) and he described the curriculum and explained the checking in and out process. You need a unique passcode to enter the school doors, so not just anyone can come in. The school is very clean and they have a playground as well. We immediately enrolled our 4 year old daughter and she started the following week. It is now near the end of her school year and she has learned so much! She can write her first and last name very neatly, she knows how to write all her letters both lower case and capital, can count to 100, can write all her numbers, can read all her sight words and more! She recently had a kindergarten assessment to be considered into dual immersion and the kindergarten teacher was very impressed how much my daughter knew. My husband and I told her we owe it all to Concordia Preschool.
Not only is the education top notch, but their teachers are very compassionate and caring. My daughter was shy and very attached to me when first attending here but her teachers made her feel so welcome here. Now she loves it here and is excited to go to school. My daughter loves her teachers Ms. Jillian and Ms. Alegria. They not only get to know the students but the parents as well. They are wonderful teachers and a great asset to the school. I will be enrolling my son to Concordia next month. I know he will love it here!

My son has been coming here for two years. My husband and I have several friends and coworkers who also have children who attend Concordia. The teachers are great and the curriculum is top notch. He’s 4 years old and is already reading, writing his name and knows his numbers by sight through 100. As is typical of schools these days, homework is given to the kids (and parents) and the dedication to it could determine part of the child’s success.
The directors are responsive to parents’ concerns and always make time to meet with them to resolve issues. No school is perfect and there are conflicts between the children that the teachers don’t always catch but these are addressed appropriately. We have been satisfied with the outcome of the issues we raised.
Overall, we are happy with our decision with enrolling our son here. It’s pricey but well worth it. We visited other schools in the area and most also have great programs with great staff. Concordia is among these schools and my husband and I recommend it.

We love Concordia! Our kids are safe, happy and educated by people who truly care about them. Concordia staff is helpful, friendly and most importantly, goes above and beyond to meet our children’s needs. Our children are learning and having fun!

My son has attended Concordia since 2013 and is getting ready to transition into kindergarten this year and I couldn’t be happier with the progress he has made since attending. The teachers and staff are very caring and nurturing to the children. The curriculum is outstanding. Together with what they teach at school and what we teach at home, he has grown both academically and socially. It’s not just an environment of play time. They are actually learning: site words, math, money, speech, etc. My son has some of the most intellectual conversations with us sometimes and loves telling us about the new things he learned in school. He enjoys learning and going to school. He is learning how to read and can read small books by himself.
When I was deployed, my son struggled in the beginning and I communicated a lot with the teachers through emails and they helped ease my mind with pictures and progress reports. They did not hesitate to tell me when he had a good day or a bad day or the strides he was making and I truly appreciated that. If you have any questions, all you have to do is ask and the teachers and staff are always ready to respond.
Now that I’m home, I sometimes hang around to observe and I can truly say that the teachers are patient, kind, caring and loving in their interaction with the children. My loves all his teachers. The staff probably knows most if not all the parents and students by name and is always ready with a smile and greeting.
I would absolutely recommend Concordia to anyone looking for a day care because I know the service provided is absolutely outstanding.

My son attends Concordia Preschool and I’m very pleased with his progress academically and socially. I attribute this progress to the caring teachers and staff at Concordia. His teachers are responsive and take the time to answer any questions I have. It was also very easy to work with the associate director, Mr. Parch. He really shows he cares for the students and their independent development. He takes the time to say hello to everyone by first name, another safety guarantee that my son is in a safe environment. I have one graduate and a soon-​to-​be graduate that have attended Concordia since the age of 2. The teachers are beyond caring and their love for the children is very evident. I’ve referred so many friends who have trusted their kids with Concordia and I wouldn’t hesitate to enroll my future children there. They are truly wonderful!

I HIGHLY recommend this preschool! My daughter attended this preschool full-​time Monday through Friday for the last 2 years until she started kindergarten in July 2015.
The teachers are passionate about teaching the kids not only what they need to learn to prepare them for kindergarten academically but also really do a great job helping to teach them how to be good kids, good students, good friends (aligning with what they are also learning from their parents at home).
After only 2 years in this preschool leading up to dual immersion kindergarten, my daughter has transitioned so smoothly and is thriving in a setting learning English and Spanish simultaneously. For full-​time this preschool has the BEST price and hours you will find in this area. Friends of mine that had kids attending this preschool with my daughter after the first year tried transitional kinder for their kids and they regretted it because their kids started losing what they learned from Concordia. Transitional kinder wasn’t as academically advanced as what their kids were getting taught in preschool at Concordia. I am so grateful to have found this preschool!

My son has switched schools and I must say I see a large difference. Concordia hikes up their prices and is very unresponsive to emails. They charge too much and the curriculum looks better on paper versus what my child has learned. I am satisfied in switching and hope that people really get their money’s worth.

We are very happy so far with Concordia Preschool, and when our 2^nd child is old enough we plan to have him attend as well. First off, our initial search for a preschool in the area turned up another place (Kids Depot) that seemed to be run more as a business than a school. We do know someone that had a child there and had no problems, though did say that there was a high turnover of staff there. At Concordia, I have seen almost all the same core teachers and assistants for the past year. Everyone there is very helpful, supportive and kind. It is a church as well, and non-​profit. They don’t push the religion if that is a concern, but I don’t see the harm if they did anyways. Since our child has been enrolled, we have seen a lot of maturation and growth all around. And the price is very reasonable and flexible to your schedule/​needs. The one downside we have experienced is our child getting sick, but at his young age and in this environment, I am sure no amount of cleaning and disinfecting things will prevent children from spreading germs to each other. They have a strict policy on fevers, but nothing too strict on sniffles or coughing. That’s a double-​edged sword, especially with working parents, but in the end the children will benefit from a stronger immune system. Everyone is given codes to sign in/​sign out their child and the staff is trained to know your face and recognize who regularly picks up children. They help with potty training, which is a nice plus! You have to provide the meals, which I do like to control, but they provide healthy snacks. Monthly lesson plans are distributed and emails are sent out regularly. Finally, your child’s artwork is displayed in class and available to take home.
Summary: Concordia Preschool is a great place for our family and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a preschool for their kids.

My son started at Concordia nearly one year ago, and I couldn’t be happier. Everything has been excellent since we started, and I can tell that my son loves his teachers and school. I have seen a lot of growth in him over the past year, and I know a lot of that is due to the caring and loving work done by the staff at Concordia.

I have been so happy that we started our daughter here! We started her here about 4 months ago and the entire staff has been so wonderful. Our daughter can be quite a handful (!!) and they have all been so great with really working with her and have been so patient and supportive (special thanks to Ms. Logara!). Our daughter will miss the kindergarten cutoff for the coming school year but she has been doing so well here that I am going to keep her here instead of doing transitional kinder. I have been very impressed with the academic aspect as well as music and art and a great playground for the kids to run around. They seem to always be trying to think of ways to keep kids engaged, learning and happy. I have no doubt that she will be ready for kindergarten both academically and socially when the time comes. I have major issues leaving my child with anyone and I have no qualms about leaving her here-​she absolutely loves it! I would highly recommend Concordia to anyone.

My child loves her teacher… this one. If it weren’t for the friends my child has made and the one good teacher we’ve experienced, I’d go to another school. Why punish my child for the problems administration has with the parents? It’s a tough call to be honest. This school is not run by professional staff. When I say staff, I’m speaking of the Director. She talks down to parents and breaks their confidentiality/​trust. She’s more concerned with her friendships with the other teachers that she is with the parents and their concerns. It’s very clear that she doesn’t have a lot of experience running a school. There is no good customer service here and like one poster said, the customer is always wrong! Very sad that I’m afraid to speak up for fear it would have an effect on my child’s experience there. Yes, I said it. I’m afraid if I speak my mind then it will somehow come down on the decisions that are made in regard to my child’s experience. I’m only saying this based on what I’ve already been through with them and what a couple of the other teachers have told me.
Think twice about sending your child here. If my child wasn’t already attached to her teacher and had made friends with everyone in the class, she’d be going to another school. Oh, and they took money out of my bank account that was NOT authorized!!!

My son has been attending Concordia Preschool for 2.5 years now. I have total peace of mind each day when we drop our son off at school. All of the teachers are so loving and sweet with the kids. You can really tell that the teachers enjoy what they do. I think that the earlier reviewer «Michelle A» is spot-​on with her description of Concordia Preschool. I couldn’t have said it all better myself. I would absolutely recommend Concordia to friends and family.

I have now had 2 children graduate from Concordia Preschool and Childcare Center and I cannot say enough good things about this preschool! The staff are always very welcoming and enthusiastic about what they do. I love that you can tell that they really care about the kids and love their job! During the school year they go above and beyond not only planning special events for the children, but for the community as well. The list can go on and on…(Art Gallery, Christmas Nativity, Parents Night Out, 4^th of July Military Salute Parade, End of School Year Dance for the preschool graduates, Easter Eggstravagansa, Holiday Family Picnics the families are invited to attend during school hours, Mother’s Day Events, Kite Flying Day etc…). The staff put in a lot of extra hours to the normal work day, even on weekends to make these events happen. The awesome thing is these events are also open to the public so, even though I will not have anymore children in the school, until my 16 month old is a little older, I plan to participate in as many of the annual events I can and still be a part of the Concodia Preschool Family! My children have really learned the importance of community and helping out those in needs through these community events.
It has been such a joy to see my children grow up in such a nuturing and positive environment. One of my favorite parts of having my children attend this school is having them come home singing the same Sunday school songs that I sang as a kid. They sing them at the top of their lungs in the car and at home and I love it! They even remind me to pray before dinner. It means the world to me that they have built a relationship with God both at home and at school. However, this is not their only focus at Condordia. They focus on developing the children socially, physically, academically, and spiritually. They have taught lessons about eating healthy, exercising, sharing, caring, helping those in need, being respectful etc. Then, of course there is the academic lessons. My son was and now my daughter is more than ready for kindergarten. My son could already read before he entered kindergarten (although, he was an older kidergarten) and my daughter already knows at least 30 sight words (she is a younger kindergartener).
As far as the tuitiion, I also believe you get what you pay for. I have never had an issue with being overcharged and never felt like they just wanted my money. Lunches are not provided, but if my kids wanted something «warm» for lunch I put it in a thermal container that kept it warm until lunch time and a «cold» lunch can be just as nutritious and delicious! The facility is always kept very clean and organized. My son attended another preschool in the area before Concordia opened and he ended up missing a lot of school days because he kept coming home sick! I never had this problem with Concordia.
Like I said I can go on and on about all the great things about Concordia Preschool. I look forward to sending my third child there next year, when he is old enough to attend! Until then, we will continue to be part of the Concordia Family by participating in their Community Events!

I would agree that all of the staff do their best to treat you as family in the best sense of the word. They greet you by name and ask how you are doing, not just how your child is doing. If there is a problem it is fairly easy to resolve if you give them the same respect that you would request for yourself.
My daughter just graduated (was promoted to Kindergarten) after three years at the school. She started in October 2009. The school is young in this location and as such has experienced some of the usual growing pains… the occasional inconsistency and staffing issue. By the way, no school is perfect! But the director, associate director and teachers have all worked hard to improve communication both generally and specifically. If you want to know how your child is doing, all you need to do is ask. They are kind and considerate and treat your child with love and respect.
I am very pleased with my child’s preschool education and would not hesitate to recommend Concordia Preschool to other parents of young children. They do an excellent job of preparing children for the next step in their education, both academically and socially.
