Heritage at Otay Ranch

Beautiful community. I have a condo at Mer Soleil, which is down the street from where my parents live, so I’m very familiar with the area. The neighborhood is safe and quiet at night. You need to go through guards when visiting at night.
I can run along the many trails around Otay Ranch. Just make sure you don’t go too early in the morning or too late at night because the coyote in the canyon have known to come out! It’s nice to see this place has been developing with new restaurants and stores. You can get sushi, gas and exercise at Curves within a 1.5 mile radius. If you have the $$$, this place is a good place to settle down and raise children.

My family lives out here and after years of visiting I still really love the neighborhood and what’s grown around the area in terms of shops and schools. The park is great, community pool limited to the homeowners, a gated section of the neighborhood, and its walking distance from whatever you might need last minute. The weather is just about perfect, compared to the deep south I’ll take cali sun and breeze any day. Maybe one day when I’m done with school it might be a good spot to plant some roots, but with the cost of living who knows. Cali i love you but you’re expensive.

This is a great neighborhood park. Very large green grass area for soccer, basketball courts, picnic and jungle gym area. An outdoor stage amphitheater area which uses a hillside as the seating area. The park also features a mini lake, where sometimes I see model sail-​boaters or RC motorboaters sail their craft. Ducks also reside on this mini lake, but I don’t believe feeding the ducks is encouraged. There is a ½ mile dirt track around the perimeter of the park, perfect for jogging. I frequently see organized soccer games and practices during weekday day weekends. On Sundays there is a group of «boot campers» early in the morning, and Filipino Martial Arts practice group every Sunday Morning, 8−11am.

This is a great park to take the entire family. Nice playground, outdoor basketball court, public recreation center and walking trails. There are also a few ponds stocked with ducks. Plenty of free parking in and around the park and nice shops across the street for coffee, pastries or Mexican food.
