Hilite Company

I found out about this company from a neighbor who had them install several skylights/​solar tubes in their kitchen and hallway a few years ago. I checked that Hilite is licensed in California, and based on my neighbor’s recommendation, I called them to get a quote for a skylight or solar tube. The following week, Nick came to install a 12″ diameter skylight/​solar tube in my walk-​in closet. This closet was so dark that a light had to be turned on to see anything in it — even during the day! What a huge difference this solar tube makes! I rarely turn on the light in there anymore — unless it’s totally dark sky outside. I love the simple concept of letting natural light in through this 12″ solar tube. I’d say that money was well spent on this project. There’s light all day and night! It’s also nice to patronize a family owned business. I would hire them again, and highly recommend them. I find Jackie and Nick friendly and easy to talk to, and what’s more important is that they are dedicated to making sure their customers are fully satisfied.

We hired this company to install a bedroom door and a set of closet doors. We paid them $ 2000 up front thinking we were going to have them do other work when they were finished with the first two items. However, the work was done poorly, both on the door, which we had to have re-​done, and on the closet doors that were badly scratched and wouldn’t fully close. We asked for the rest of our money back. The company said there was no money left. What?!? We have been asking for a refund for over a year. Do not trust this company.

We had the HiLite Company install a solar tube in a very dark bathroom approximately 10 years ago. What a difference it has made– we never have to turn the light on during the day. We haven’t had any problems with it and were extremely happy with the whole installation process. We are currently doing a kitchen remodel and I have looked them up to use them again.

These guys are great, They can out to my place in Jan and installed 2 solar tubes. Now I have free beautiful light in my kitchen and bathroom. I don’t even have to turn on my lights during the day. It only took them afew hours also.

Gene & Co. did a great job on three separate skylight projects for us. One project was a «solar tube» installed start to finish in less than two hours.
The other two were more complex projects in our bathroom and dining room. Gene really worked hard on our projects and the final results were excellent.
Also, I must note that he did this work over 3 years ago and we have had no problems with our skylights. No structural problems with our ceilings or leaks. Perfect.
I give HiLite Company my highest recommendation.
