If i could give zero stars i would. This place is disgusting, but then again its super cheap. The food is cold and chewy. Everything just tasted gross. And the plates and utensils were dirty. Ew i dont recommend this whatsoever.

Wow. You know, I went to this place When they first opened and was impressed enough to go multiple times. But I just recently went back and wasted money. I went with my wife and son to what we thought would be the dinner rush. But it turned out that there was nobody inside. Not even an employee. So we stood there like idiots for a while waiting on what, I don’t know but the guy eventually came out. Then we sat down and I go to get my plate and one for my son and notice that the soups film was so hardened that it was suspending the ladle mid soup. So that’s gross. And what I’m pretty sure was pork was stuck to the pan. And I can now say I’ve eaten a hollow egg roll. I don’t know how they got it into that shape but I was surprised. But I got some peas for my son and get back to the table and cannot cut them into little bites. I have no idea why I thought I had to try to eat them so he didn’t have to but that happened for like three peas until I realized how dumb that idea was. I don’t know what the deal was. Hopefully they can get their stuff together and not close. Potential to be good again if they just care some.

Only had sushi(no Chinese Buffet) and was quite pleased. Staff was friendly and helpful. Portions were good sized, prepared quickly and tasty. Definitely plan to come back. They don’t yet have a liquor license but it is coming in a couple of weeks.

I came here on a weekend afternoon. The place was empty except for 3 other parties. This is a buffet, they charge about $ 6 and it’s pretty empty. Anywho overall the food is okay, It would have actually been good if it hadn’t been sitting for hours and gotten and wrinkly and greasy. But i guess when you don’t have many customers at a buffet, food will sit. They don’t have a soft serve machine, I would give them another star if they had a soft serve machine.

I went there about 45 minutes before they were closing on a Sunday and opted for the to go box since I didn’t feel I would have had enough time to fully enjoy the buffet aspect. They were still replenishing dishes so the food was fresh even late in the evening. The food was great and they even threw in a soda with my to go meal… I don’t know if it is usually included, but if so awesome deal!

OK, I’m choosey about my chinese buffets. We ran into this one by accident whilst looking for the Yoshinoya restaurant nearby. This place is OK under chinese buffet standards. It did take me 3 requests to get some fresh pizza delivered to the buffet line, so that disturbs me. Bigger selection than most chinese buffets. $ 8 bucks on a Sunday, and this one ain’t bad.

For the price(7.99, which includes a drink), a great bargain! Selection includes not only a wide variety of well-prepared Chinese foods but a lot of non-Chinese foods(like Home Town Buffet), including an extensive sea-food selection.

SUPER friendly and welcoming service. Clean restaurant and restrooms. Food was tasty and pretty good.(I get so nervous about eating at Chinese buffets, because I am terrified of getting sick… no worries here!) All was fine!(Plus, I saw the staff eating the food too-a positive sign that the food is very safe). My 84-yr old Chinese Grandmother loved it… she had 3 plates of seafood and rice.

$ 5 to go styrofoam containers are the way to go! It has the good Chinese Buffet staples(coconut shrimp, mandarin chicken, orange chicken, lo mien, fried rice). Screamin’ deal for $ 5! The cashier was nice, and the inside is clean. I didn’t experience cold food like everyone else did so I’m not going to bitch in that area. But overall it’s not THAT bad.

I went here last night because I like Chinese buffets, this is the worst one I have ever been to. The host was great and the place was clean but the food was not fresh or good. It’s worth a couple extra bucks to go somewhere else.

I remember being BORED one night and none of my friends answered their goddamn phones. Then suddenly, I had a craving for Chinese food. Not the panda stuff, but Chinese buffet. After coming on Unilocal!.com, I tried to find the cheapest buffet, yet with a decent rating. Voila, out comes this place, with an avg of 3 stars. I didn’t expect much, but I wanted Chinese food, damnit. Time of Arrival: 8:30PM, Thursday Time of Departure: 9:30PM Time the restaurant closes: 10:00PM Anyways, the first thing you notice when you get inside is how big the place is, considering the outside bit makes the place look tiny. I was greeted, and I paid for a dinner buffet($ 7.99). There aren’t too many waiters, but it was a Thursday, so I didn’t think anything of it. Now, I got here 90 minutes before the place closed, so I didn’t want to see any«we’re close to closing, so let’s NOT make more food» food. Anyways, the selection is pretty decent. You have your meat, seafood, fruits, dessert, etc. The next thing I noticed was a bit surprising. I don’t know if they did it as a heat lamp or for lighting, but the bulbs were the energy efficient bulbs. I was a bit skeptical about this because I know that the boiling water beneath the food isn’t good enough by itself. Unless they change their food every half an hour-an hour. So I decided to go for the chow mein and the chicken selection. Orange, Kabob, and Sesame(I think). I bite the chow mein. Cold. I bite the orange chicken. Cold. I bite the kabob. Pretty good! And cold. I bite the sesame chicken. Do I even have to say it? I assumed maybe I picked the bad batch, so I picked other foods, this time the pork and beef variety. They too, tasted like horse turd since it was cold. Everything was COLD, the meat and the seafood. The only good thing about this place was… the soda… and the yogurt… and fruit. They were good cold, surprisingly. That was my biggest f*ckin’ complaint about this place. These foods might have been good if they were hot, but NO. It’s a late weekday, and they didn’t feel like doing anymore work. The waiter is pretty quick and efficient. I didn’t know if I was supposed to tip in a buffet, but considering the bad food, I decided to NOT tip that guy. Sorry man, your manager f*ckin’ sucks. So as I walk out towards my car, I stop in the middle of the parking lot, and throw up. My stomach did feel weird and I didn’t eat that much(how could I?). A buffet that makes me throw up will never see my face again. Breakdown(out of 5) Variety of food: 3 Quality of food: 1 Pricing: 5 Service: 4 Friendliness: 2 Conclusion: Try to eat here, if you feel stupid or bold, on a busy weekend. They should constantly be pumping out fresh food during those times. Then MAYBE, the food might be edible.

I received a flier in the mail and the pictures looked enticing. So, what did I do first… I checked out reviews for this place, as I feel it important to scope out the places I go to prior to arriving(I hate surprises… unless they’re good). Well I must say that the reviews thus far were pretty accurate, except that I think they were a little too kind. If all you’re looking for is to fill your stomach, then yes, I would agree that this place is good for that. Where else can you eat nowadays for $ 7.99(plus tax)? Even at a burger joint, you tend to spend close to that for a burger meal and most likely you won’t get full. The place is definitely in an older part of the city and the location leaves much to be said. It was not dirty per say, yet left much to be desired. The selection of items was adequate and most of the dishes that were supposed to have a protein were about 70% vegetables. All in all, like I said, if you’re looking for something inexpensive to fill you up and you’re in the area(don’t go out of your way), then by all means stop and have a bite.

I ate here for dinner tonight and was surprised at how decent it looked on the inside when you’re looking at it from the outside. As the other writer mentioned, it’s in the old part of Chula Vista in an aged strip mall tucked between a Rite-Aid and auto supply store. We were greeted by a host who seemed tired, we didn’t feel too welcomed, but I didn’t really care, it was just an observation. I don’t really like eating at buffets, but this one was okay. I like sampling one or two pieces of the usual stuff I try: the sauteed green beans, orange chicken, coconut shrimp, beef with broccoli, an egg roll, some fried rice and chow mein. There’s a good variety of food, four long rows of food, but the restaurant was only occupied by 20 customers at the time, if that. The deep fried stuff wasn’t oozing out oil which was good since I was expecting that from my egg roll, but that didn’t happen. I liked the mixed veggies and beef with broccoli. Dessert consisted of watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew melons and pineapple. I was surprised there was no Jell-O at this joint, that’s usually a staple at the Chinese buffets I’ve eaten at in the past, but oh well. If you’re not up for dining here, you can pack a to-go plate for $ 3.99/lb(or $ 3.49 for lunch). I noticed at least four customers do that while we were dining. The place is okay, the waiter that bused our plates was very attentive and quick. They do need to do something with the A/C though, I felt like it wasn’t working, but they cracked the front door to let some fresh air in their establishment. Dinner was $ 7.99 a person and it included soda. They had a frozen yogurt machine as well, but I was too full to eat anything else. Overall it was cool, not the best, but it’s cheap grub. As we were heading out the door, the same hostess asked us if everything was okay. We were coolio, left there full, but I’m feeling blah about eating all that food!

I am not fond of buffets for many reasons. I envision great swarms of bacteria having parties in each chafing dish as muzak plays«I’m all out of love» on the speakers overhead. The only reason I ventured to this particular place was to please my folks, who post-doctor visit were having a bad day. I agreed to join them in this odd little restaurant, stuck in an old strip mall in south Chula Vista. The lady at the register was friendly, gave the elders a 10% senior discount and we were off. Steam tables revealed the usual suspects, Chinese classics like chow mein and broccoli beef, along with a fairly impressive array of seafood that looked surprisingly fresh and good quality. I can’t vouch for any of the meat dishes but my father seemed to be in a sort of sparerib reverie that was hard to shake. I tried some clams and shrimp that were really tasty and picked the chicken out of a curried noodle dish that was pretty good. It was competent, adequately prepared food. Again the choices for the seafood table were surprising, including all sorts of shellfish and other critters. The fried rice was the only thing that was overtly suspect, as it had a hardened look to it, as if it had spent too much time in the joint. Service was sluggish but there was only one guy in the place and I think the heat of the room made him s l o w.
