I’ve been coming here for soil and compost for my wheatgrass business for quite some time now. John deere recently relocated from West Chula Vista to East Chula Vista. The guys that work there are very helpful and nice, always willing to help or answer any questions. They are highly customer service oriented and do appear to really love their jobs and helping customers. However, there is a woman that works there named Rachel. She, on the other hand is a very rude and condescending individual who always seems to be apathetic or in a bad mood ALL the time. Working with her or asking for advice or other assistance is always a sketchy endeavor whenever I go there. I have always gone out of my way to be nice to this woman because she always seems to be in a bad mood and I don’t like confrontation. Each and every week I am there she just does not seem happy. Last week when I asked for some assistance her demeanor suggested that I was being a burden. She made a remark which was very anti customer service and it really rubbed me the wrong way but I ignored it. However, today when I went in for advice that very same thing happened again. Now, my visits there are usually straightforward because I buy the same thing each and every week. This time however was different. They stopped carrying my usual supplies so I had to get guidance on choosing a new soil and compost. Oh boy was she pissed that I was actually making her WORK! Her curtsy and rude demeanor was too much for me to endure a second week in a row. This time I retaliated and responded basically telling her off. Now, I am a very easy going person and it takes a lot for me to do something like that because I do not like causing a scene. But, this woman has rubbed me the wrong way for a very long time and I am tired of walking on egg shells whenever I go there and have to deal with her. Anyway that’s my experience. I’m not saying not to go there because they are a fully stocked horticulture supply company. Just make sure you avoid her and let Richard or one of the other guys help you. Avoid her like the plague. If not you will definitely come to see what I am talking about. If it gets too bad try Turfmaker on Anita Street in west Chula Vista
