Kid’s Depot

My daughter has been going here for a month now and I am so impressed. The deciding factor for picking this childcare facility was the peace of mind of knowing I could watch my daughter at anytime via the watchmegrow app. The staff have been great and my daughter is learning so much. She is talking more and she is so social now! Enrolling my daughter at Kids Depot was the best decision I could have made for her. I definitely recommend kids depot for any family seeking childcare for their kids!

I do not have any children that attend here, but I am in this area a lot and see the day to day from the outside looking in.
This place looks very clean and well kept for children to be in. The playground area looks amazing.
If my children were still little enough to go here, I would take them.
The availability they have to take care of children at all hours and allowing for drop offs is a plus for most parents.

A great place to drop off hourly till 7pm. Call for some days, they can watch your kids till 10pm. Lee like the facility and the staff if excellent.

Love this place. My son has been coming here for before and after school care for four months. He is so happy here. The teachers and staff are kind and professional. I highly recommend Kid’s Depot.

I am so incredibly disappointed with our experience. When we first went to tour the center I was still pregnant and we were really impressed. The teachers and staff were nice, friendly, and welcoming. They told us all sorts of things like the only time they put the babies in the crib are when they sleep but the rest of the time they interact with the kids by talking, singing, and playing. Since our son would be 3 months old starting at this daycare he would be in the doodlebugs room. There are two sides of the room, one for the kids who can walk and crawl and the other side for the babies who can’t. They told us they’re kept separately because they don’t want any of the kids tripping over the infants. The main reason we chose this daycare was the cameras as well.
When we brought our son here we watched him on cameras for the first week and were just so disappointed. Everything they told us and promised us was so fake. The only time they held him was to feed him then back on the floor he went to play by himself. I noticed the older kids got a lot more play time but at 3 months it’s important that they have some kind of interaction. I kept trying to give them the benefit of the doubt because I didn’t expect them to give only my son their undivided attention. But as the time went on it just seemed to get worse. Then when we’d pick him there would be something that was upsetting like another baby’s blanket in his crib after I already told them it’s not his (that’s how kids get sick!). I also saw them using his blanket for a different baby which was frustrating but again, continued to give them the benefit of the doubt because they have a lot of kids to care for and they were doing the best they could. When I dropped him off I was having a hard time and the director and receptionist reassured me that I could call anytime. I called ONE time and the teacher was so short and seemed so annoyed and irriated that I was calling! I was on the phone with her for maybe 1 minute if that. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt that she was busy so I tried not to let it bother me. But from her tone I didn’t call ever again because I was scared to. Also, the kids were never kept separately. What happens when a 1 year old thinks my 3 month old is big enough to play and jumps on him? Or trips, falls, ANYTHING! But this is their job. Why should I settle for anything less than the best for my son?
We kept him there for a week. On that Friday we brought all of his stuff home and continued to think about what is best for our son. We decided to pull him out of the daycare. So Monday, my husband tried to call to cancel but their phone lines were down. Which is kind of ridiculous because how are you supposed to check on your child if they don’t have a working phone line? Or how are they supposed to call you in case anything happened with your child? So Tuesday we called and they told us they already charged our card for the week because they need a two week notice. I know we signed the contract or whatever but he was there for one week and had a horrible experience. How could we give them a two week notice in our first week? But we bit the bullet because that was their «terms». If they truly cared they would’ve tried to consider making an exception but really at the end of the day it’s about the money for them. But what made it even more frustrating was that we were on the military discount rate and the first week they charged us the regular rate. So the director said she would credit us for the next week and charge us less. Second week comes along and they charged us the regular rate AGAIN! So now they owe us $ 56 but we are no longer going to use their services so I called and spoke to the director today. She was incredibly short with me and rushed me off the phone. I was not one bit rude even though I have some built up frustrations with them and asked if she could refund the $ 56. She instantly went into telling me she can’t refund us for the 2^nd week because we didn’t give a two week notice? Uhh… ok? I didn’t ask for a refund for the 2^nd week (which we didn’t even take him AT ALL that week!) And she just said that credit will be used towards his drop in days which is $ 14/​hr. I told her we are not planning to use the drop in rate and I would like a refund. She then told me she needs to talk to the owner and asked me to call her back later in the afternoon. I then asked if I could talk to the owner and she was quick to say, «No, I’ll talk to him because I AM the director. So I’ll talk to him and tell you what he says.» Oh? I’m sorry? The owner doesn’t talk to concerned parents?
This is the first review I have ever written but it’s because I am incredibly saddened by our experience with them and hope other people will consider this review before they bring their child there. There are lots of other things that I left out as well but there’s not enough space.

My daughter was currently going to a Montessori school, but they had spring break for 2 weeks and I was in search for another school that would provide a great experience for my daughter. I’ve looked everywhere and saw an inhome childcare, but I just didn’t have a good feeling about it. As a parent, you will want to go with your gut especially when it involves your child. So I went on Unilocal to see reviews of great childcare and I saw Kids Depot getting great reviews so I went to check it out. I was really empress in the curriculum and in the beginning, my daughter was shy at first, but the following day she was having a blast. The one great and amazing thing about this childcare is their
where you can see your child in the camera. This was a great perk they offer, I watched my daughter every hour during work and I loved it. If you have doubts taking your child, trust me it’s worth it! My child went back to her Montessori school today and I’m a little sad because I can’t watch her anymore, but I we will be back to Kid’s Depot again on her summer break. I’m just happy that I found this school as a secondary. Thanks again Kid’s Depot for a great experience for my daughter and we will be seeing you soon! Highly Recommended School! A+++ I don’t give recommendation that easily.

I had to give Kid’s Depot 2 stars due to how expensive it is for drop-​ins. $ 11×8 hr= $ 88×5 days =$ 440×4 wks =$ 1760 a month almost the same tuition as Francis Parker School geez… They need to do a revision and be somewhat drop-​in family friendly.

My daughter has been attending Kids Depot for almost a year and I couldn’t be any happier with this place. My daughter is 4, she had never attended daycare and after looking for daycare for almost a month we decided to go with Kids Depot. I was very nervous the first time we had to drop her off, but after we picked her up she couldn’t stop talking about how much she loved daycare. Ms. Nelly and all the other girls working there are beyond nice and helpful, hours of drop off and pick up very flexible, prices are reasonable, and facility is nice and clean. My daughter looks forward to going to daycare and is happy as can be, which is what matters to us the most.

My son has been attending this facility since 2012. I had previously written a review about how happy I was with them, and I am updating it now because two years later I am still very happy with this center. I now have my infant in here as well and I love how well he is taken care of. He is crawling and learning so much.
They even let me oldest son go see him some times. They provide nutritious meals, and best of all I can see them all day! The infant room has three different cameras so I can see my son no matter where he is at.
* I am very happy with this facility. My son used to go to another daycare and I was happy there but decided to research some other places. I visited Kid’s Depot and was greeted and attended very nicely by the assistant director. I did not have an appointment, yet she greeted me, gave me prices and a tour, she spend over 40 minutes talking to me and showing me around the facility.
* The main reason I picked this location is obviously because of the cameras. They are the only location in the Southbay with cameras. It gives me great peace of mind to see and check in on my sons, while I am at work. I can monitor my children and the teachers any time I want. I think it’s huge since I cannot leave work and check on them any time I want and I get to actually see what my children are doing in class. It makes me feel like I’m involved in what they do in class.
In the mornings if he cries when I drop him off I feel terrible. The teachers always tell you don’t worry they stop crying as you walk out, and of course you never believe them, but now I see they are right. The minute I log on to my phone, I see my son is playing and having a ball!
* I love that every time I check on him, he is either, reading, or doing an activity, or eating or outside playing or napping. I know their set schedule and I love that! He is never watching TV like some centers do, or running around doing nothing!
* He has only been attending for a month or so, but I already can tell he is speaking so much more and understanding so much better. The interaction and association with other kids is great!
* Every Tuesday and Thursday, they have Spanish class, Wednesday Karate and Friday Dance class, which is included in the tuition. They have a dance /​singing concert during Christmas which is absolutely adorable!
* I love that the camera is not additional or any extra fees etc. I paid more at the other daycare he attended previously and I could not see him!
* The staff is great and very friendly. I am very happy with the teachers and the curriculum and Ms. Nelly and Ms. Lizet are very attentive!
* I am very happy with this center and highly recommend it to anyone!

First of all it is a daycare center and not a small family daycare home. There’s a difference. So yes there will be a lot of kids there. I think this socializes your baby from the start. To start, the entrance to the center is opened only if you have the security code. Very safe. Not just anyone can walk in. They start at 6 weeks all the way through elementary school. They have an after school program and a service to take kids to school in the morning. I had my son here since he was 3 months old till he was 8.5 months old. The ladies there are all nice and know how to care for children. They are educated in early childhood development plus some are actual teachers. Imagine having 4 kids of your own taking care of them yourself, that’s what it’s like here. The ratio is 1:4. So yes, you’ll see some of the kids off to the side playing, tinkering with toys, crawling around, rolling and some just lay there as they are not able to move around yet (kept separate from the movers). The way in which the camera’s are setup there are blind spots, so it sometimes «seems» like there is no one watching your child because in these blind spots is where the workers change diapers, feed the other babies who are on solids and are simply just letting your baby have fun being free to play. So this is why you can’t always see someone, they are watching your child play safely. Anything you want done you just need to ask. They will do just about anything you ask them to do. They always did what I asked.
What I loved about this place is all the arts and crafts they do. They observe all the holidays and do something special with the children. They bring in professional photographers to take nice pictures with nice backgrounds for picture day. They bring in clowns to entertain. They do a yearly recital that even the infants get to be involved in. Each month there is a theme board posted in the hallway for each class room. This has all the babies hands and feet traced onto construction paper and cut out then decorated with paint or glitter. For mothers and fathers day they made gifts for mom and dad. The environment is so stimulating that it helps your child learn faster. Also, they write down everything they do, nap times and how long, diaper change times and what it was, feeding times and how much. They also do parent teacher conferences for the infants. They go over the child’s development to make sure they are on track with meeting their milestones. If there is an area in which the child needs more help, they will work with the child in meeting their milestone.
My son started to sit up, crawl and stand at an early age. By 7 months he was able to crawl and pull himself up and stand with support. I believe it had to do with the freedom and space they gave him to develop. They also, taught him how to clap, wave bye and to get him to eat solids. They would sing and read to the babies and my son LOVES the ABC song. He gets so excited when anyone starts to sing it.
The only thing I hated about the place was my son was constantly congested. Had a constant cough and running nose. He never napped no more than 30 minutes there twice a day. I think because it was way to loud to rest quietly and plus he was always congested. Since he’s been out of this daycare he is no longer congested, sleeps better at night and takes longer naps 1hour to 2.5 hours! His clothes no longer reek of cleaning chemicals. This is why I took off a star.
Over all it’s a great daycare center for the price.

One of the best thing about this place is that it has live camera in every classroom so that you can monitor your children and the teacher any time you want. I think it’s huge since I cannot leave work and check on them any time I want and I get to actually see what my child does in class. Kinda feels like I’m involve in what she does in her class in a way. That is one feature that I will miss in my new care.
I would think that this is a Child care more than a preschool. Because most of the time kids are just running around, playing. There are times that they do sit down, do projects and learn. I usually see my child playing instead of reading, but I know that she has been learning. Because when she comes home, she would say things I never taught her, she learn how to write alphabate and what sound they made.
Every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, they had spanish class, Wednesday Karate (My daughter keep telling me she hasn’t had that) and Friday Dance class. (That I do see they do on camera) Had a dance performance during Christmas which was really cool.
Only reason we switch school was because the other one seem to be more like an actual school and registration was waived for the period of time I was looking for another school. And one complain I had was that I had no communication with the teachers. The other school had daily report, they would have a note stating what they did in class throughout the day, what they eat, what they learn and everything. They didn’t tell me anything about how my child progress in class, how she interact with others or anything. I know she had done things, but every time I ask her what she did in school, she couldn’t tell me anything and I kinda need the teacher to tell me that. And I never gotten anything. I bought that up when I drop my 2 week notice of transferring my child and the teacher did that everyday for those two weeks. So they should be really good about it now.

Just drop off the kids, and put your mind at ease. Take a break and enjoy yourself, leave ‘em overnight if ya please!
