I used to go with my family over to Tijuana/Rosarito to get our mariscos fix but it’s just harder now a days to be crossing back and forth between there and the US. My dad finally found this food truck and we can definitely say it’s an authentic flavor your getting when eating here. The cockteles are delicious and the fish tacos are cooked to perfection. You can’t go wrong with anything off their menu. And if you aren’t into seafood. They have another truck right next to it that serves tacos that are just as good. It’s are place you definitely have to try out

Born and raised in the Southbay, I’d say I am spoiled when it comes to taco shops/mariscos. I can say that I’ve been to pretty much all roach coaches in the south is this still by far the best. I’ve been coming here for more that 5 years and each and every time I pay them a visit, they never let down. Everything is mind blowing good, from their fish tacos to their amazingly fresh coctels. My personal favorite is the the tostada loca. Super friendly workers as well. Very welcoming group of people. Do yourself the favor and check them out.

I went for lunch and ordered 2 fish tacos around 12:50 pm I waited and saw other orders being served finally 20 min later I asked the cashier«where is my order» and she responded that they«ran out«of the main ingredient !!! really? who does not check their supplies early morning before they open the restaurant !!! and of all she knew when she took my order!, I demanded my money back and will never go again, Bad customer service… avoid the wait time go down the street to the other seafood shop.

The boyfriend and I are on a «trail and tacos» mission where we go on a hike all around San Diego and then find a taco shop nearby. We started in the deep south and hiked at the Otay Valley Regional Park. The line at El Gordo’s was crazy so we ended up here, luckily enough. El Prieto is two food trucks, one serving meats and another serving sea food. There’s a big table in between for everyone to eat on. My boyfriend ordered a chicken and a beef taco – the reason why I only gave 4 stars. I found the meat of both to be dry. They really need the help of the different sauces that are readily available at the table. What I got is five-star worthy though. The Tacos Perron is excellent! It’s a mix of shrimp and marlin and is gigantic. $ 5.50(+ tax) well spent. The paper tray came with a taco chocfull of shrimp and marlin, enough as a good lunch portion for most people. The seafood is cooked in a flavorful sauce and is served atop a bed of sautéed onions. The avocado on top adds a creaminess to the seafood. This is something worth coming back for!

Best shrimp quesadilla I’ve ever tasted! Fish tacos are really good too. Try the different sauces and the free seafood broth

Get the Tostada Locos! They fill a Styrofoam to go container with the seafood ceviche mix and three tostadas. I personally love every bite with their creamy salsa – don’t forgot to grab some if you’re taking your food to go. The Tostada Locos feeds my boyfriend and I for just $ 9. On top of that, my boyfriend loves their complimentary seafood broth soup. Parking can be tricky because its a popular place on a small lot but we’ve been lucky each time we go. Take note that this is a food truck but they have standing room for people that want to dine in on the spot.

Damn delicious. Had their especial tacos and they were definitely on the heavy side of taste with plenty of piping hot sauteed vegetables and fish and meat. I have to knock it down though because of the long wait. I waited about 40 minutes for my order to go.

Agh this place is alright! their seafood consome is really little and nasty though… Bien desabrido Oh & they take forever to serve your food! Hm I’ve eaten at better places than this with better tasting food and faster service! so maybe if the service was faster and the consome a little tastier I would of given it a 4 stars

The food is so good. Their shrimp quesadillas are delicious. As well as everything else. They are reliably priced. And the food service is always quick. The only thing that sucks is the parking.

By far my favorite mariscos spot in San Diego, restaurants and taco trucks included. Located in the parking lot on the corner of Fourth and Main St in Chula Vista, the address is actually 3031 Main Street, not the one listed on Unilocal.Be prepared to wait for parking, especially if you come on weekends or around lunch. Procedure: Order at the window(majority of orders are in Spanish; if you ordered in English they’d probably know what you’re talking about though). Pay, cash only. Wait for your name to be called. Usually takes about 5 – 10 minutes. Gather your radishes and limes while you wait and try to snag a spot at the table or counter to eat. No seating here, sorry. Oh and don’t forget to ask for your free consomé. The portion sizes are substantial for the price you pay. My absolute favorite is the taco de camarones a la diabla. That’s a huge taco filled with spicy shrimp, red onions and Oaxaca cheese, wrapped in two corn tortillas. The extra tortilla comes in handy because there’s definitely enough shrimp to make two tacos. For $ 1.25 get a perfectly fried – never soggy – fish taco, with the right proportion of cabbage, pico and crema. You can add more crema or a variety of the hot sauces/salsas available on the table to your preference. You can’t go wrong with the shrimp cocktail either, if that’s what you’re craving. Five stars for consistency of quality, authenticity and just plain deliciousness.

I love this place! This is the perfect food trucks to come if you’re hungover lol or when you just want to eat somewhere chill. It’s good food an fast service… I usually get the Clamato de Camaron it is or the Taco Governador you could really get your Mariscos fix at this Lunch truck… I drive a Jeep so we always just lounge in the back an eat an listen to music an enjoy our delicious food. Also they have a nice man taking care of the cars an helping them park an directing cars which makes it someway if someone is parked in front of you he moves them for you he always gets tipped by U.S. That’s for sure! I strongly recommend this place if you love Mariscos & Tacos de Birria

Ok been here 3 times & yes it’s very good. You get the best of both world’s here, you got a Marisco truck & a taco truck across from each other. Tho you might feel like your in a TJ street corner cuz of the location & customers(watch your driving & parking here cuz there’s a lot of crazy TJ type drivers) you also get that feel on the tacos as well cuz some of them are as good as TJ tacos. Pros, the Tripa taco is my fav here & on point! Honestly it’s the best Tripa taco I’ve ever had, it’s perfectly cooked with a great salty little crunchy taste to it. You can add beans to it it taste even better. You can add beans to any taco you want at no charge! The Birria tacos are for the most part good as is the Birria conseme which is free. The fish taco is one of the best I’ve had & it’s only $ 1.25 well worth it. The consome for the Mariscos is very good no lemon needed it’s that good. The Chiviche here is good, I got a Mixto tostada so I can taste most of the Mariscos & it didn’t disappoint in flavor. And there service is pretty fast & friendly. Cons, parking is limit hopefully you get lucky, the Cabeza taco was not good I’ve had it in different occasions & all 3 times the same, it was real blan with no flavor even when I add salt. The Asada tacos were ok but also needed more flavor. And it’s ‘Cash Only’ so make sure you got Cash on you. The taco truck prices were ok & on the Marisco truck besides the $ 1.25 fish taco which is a great price for it’s big size, everything else was a bit more expensive then other Marisco trucks. But the Pro’s over take the cons so try this place out you won’t regret it! This place is worth coming to yes it gets busy but they work fast. I’m a fan of this place now & I’ll come back for sure especially for those Tripa tacos! My order will probably now be 2 Tripa tacos 1 Birria taco & a fish taco &1 consome from each truck! This place is as good as people say, I even see old white people here! Now you know it’s good if old white people go out there way to come here to mingle with us to eat standing up in a dirty parking lot. So bring your grand pappys white kids they’ll love it.

Don’t you love when something bad turns into something so good? That’s how we found this place. A few weeks ago when craving some fish tacos we headed out this way to go to a truck that we had heard good things about. Unfortunately they were closing up early when we got there and we decided to try this place which we had driven by on the way there. Absolutely everything we had was delicious and when the craving hit again yesterday we knew right away that was where we were going. The fish tacos are perfect and you can add chipotle for a little more spice and the gobernador has the most amazing flavor. The prices are great and the service is fast. This is the places that I will judge all other Mariscos trucks by.

I ate a tostada de Camaron with some friends from this food truck. In the past I’ve eaten here before and it was pretty good. But this last time I felt like I was going to die three days cold sweats. Its official food poisoned by this lunch truck. If you value your health think about it there might be a chance you mite be a victim of food poisoning.

Im not sure what happened to my review 2yrs back… but I’ll write another. Im a big fan of fish tacos. I’ve journeyed all across the land in search of awesome fish tacos. And El Prieto is the king of the crop in SoCal. The fish is savory and clean, really nice crispy seasoned batter, well sized, it has its fair share of veggies. Their hot sauces and orange sauce is awesome. Some days it is spicier than other which I like ! It is usually very consistent, very rarely is their a change in consistency. I used to go here once a week for a year or so… so ive seen the minimal fluctuations. But its still bomb, regardless. One more thing, their tomato based seafood soup(which is free) is my jammm. Woooo. #fire. I go here too often… the cashier as well as the guy who directs you to find parking knows my name… even though i go there lookin different all the time. or not even show up for a good length of time. Just try it.

4 stars, but easily 4 and a half! There was two trucks, one was all seafood, while the other was all different types of meat tacos and tostadas. Of course my hungry ass had both! I had 2 carne asada tacos which were great! I personally think they were better than tacos el gordo and for 2 bucks! I would have posted a picture of the carne asada tacos, but well I kinda ate them to quick to remember. Then after I ate all that in a bite or two, I had 2 fish tacos from the other truck for a whopping $ 1.25 per taco! They also gave me a little soup for free which was mmm mmm good. The tacos themselves were delicious, and for the price you can’t beat it.

I’ve been here plenty of times an have never had anything bad or any complaints about the food. They are fast an friendly. I get the clamato de camarón or taco gobernador. The agua chile is also real good. This spot is close to me an I always come here for my mariscos fix. It’s pretty cheap so for 20 bucks I can feed me an my girlfriend.

Awesome food. I tired the marlin tacos and I honestly believe that these tacos are one of the best here in San Diego. I also tried the shrimp tacos which were great as well. The only thing, that I noticed wrong, was that I had no place to sit down and eat. It didn’t really bother me cause I was aware of the small place and the tacos coming from a food truck. I just took them home, no problem. This place is definitely a place to check out.
