I started dancing here when I was three – back when it was on Third Ave, on the second floor of something… And there I was, at three years old, black leotard, pink tutu – my frist recital. I REFUSEDTOMOVE. I got nervous. I moved on to various dance studios, did a little gymnastics somewhere, took some piano lessons, then started figure skating. I went back to Mrs. Peiknik. As part of my off ice training. Three classes per week. She still had the same mass of brightly colored, curly, frizzy, crazy hair that made me smile. She still spoke. A LOT. Maybe too much. But she has these cute sayings – my favorite one being, «Goody goody gumdrops,» with her accent. The classes run long – though I find that to be a good thing. The studio is clean, fairly spacious. And she really works with you. So does Giselle. They really make sure you’re doing things correctly. They’re nice.
