Let Me Start Off With This Buffet Is The Worst Ever ! The Food Is Cold, There Was Hardly Food And When i Would Ask For Them to Put More Out They Would Ignore Me & Give Me Attitude. They Are Thirsty For Money. i Can’t Even Eat In Peace Without Them Always Starring And Asking If I’m Done Yet. It’s A Huge Mess And When i Asked Where Is The Bathroom They Would Say They Have No Bathroom ! Just Plain Horrible & Rude !! I Will Never Go Back There Or Have Anything Nice To Say. Can’t Even Sit Where You Want ! Nasty.

I came here with a friend before going to a movie. It was inexpensive, however, you shouldn’t expect much more out of it. Between my fountain drink, and my food(Chinese), my drink was my favorite. And to top it off, the lady collecting and cleaning plates was spitting continuously

As cheap buffets go this one is tips fir the area. Very inexpensive also the coffee, tea and pop is included in the price. They have a huge selection of Mexican, american and if course Asian food. They have a large desert section including old fashioned ice cream. Everything was clean and the staff were friendly. Even the bathrooms are clean and smell fresh both times I’ve been here. Like fish and sea food? No worries they got you covered.

Dirty, Dirty, Dirty! I took my family there this past Sunday(June 22nd) for the first time and as soon as we walked through the door, I already had a bad feeling about this place. I should have listened to my gut, but my kids and wife were ready to eat. The lobby was a mess, with thrown newspapers and other advertisments thrown all over the place. The people who worked there starting with the cashier were very cold and rude in some instances. The place was humid and dark. The food was bland at best. The bathrooms were HORRIBLE! Again, the theme of this post was dirty, dirty dirty. I wish I could find something nice to say, but our experience was terrible. It is the first and LAST time we will be there. P. S. That evening, our enitre family was complaining about thier stomaches hurting, I should have listened to my gut.

I went two weeks ago to a party at the Cicero Buffet. I was shocked at how clean, and pretty this restaurant is. The food was super good, really warm and with lots of flavor… My favorite was the chicken kabobs… I will definitely be back. Please do not listen to the bad reviews, it’s a great place. The staff is on top of things 24⁄7.

Ummm this is exactly why I don’t like buffets… I’ve been here a couple times… and the last time I came here… the spaghetti tasted like toothpaste… you might think I’m exagerrating but trust me I’m not! Here is where you can actually say.“You get what you pay for”…

So I am willing to always give a place a second shot, just to make sure I didn’t catch a restaurant on a bad day. So I ventured in once again to Cicero Buffet on a Friday evening. I think it had to do a lot with the fact that I found a coupon for buy one regular price get second for 99 cents(big shout out to Valpak coupons), so I took the lovely g/f for dinner.
So I guess I’ll start with the restaurant’s appearance. It is very nice, plenty of seating available, fancy marble counters all over, got a little pond with fishies, has flat screen TVs, and just overall looks good. I actually expected to see more hot food items, but as I started walking around I realized that was not the case. I thought«not a big deal, quality over quantity».
In reality this time around the food was worse than the previous time. Everything seemed to be really flavorless so instead of listing everything I didn’t like, it’s easier for me to list what I did like. I think the only two dishes I liked were the salmon and shrimp ball(I think that’s what it was called), the fried bananas, and fresh fruit. I was so surprised at how many dishes were so flavorless and poorly made, that I kept going up to the food bar in hopes of a decent dish. Even the hot and sour soup was flavorless. No bueno. I gave it a second chance, but I’m sorry Cicero Buffet, I’m not coming back for more.

This place was great when it opened. I’m not sure what happened since then. We went on Christmas day 2 years ago, and they decided to charge 3 dollars more per person for the honor of eating there. I asked if it was a special menu for the holiday, and the extra charge, and they said no. The food is a mix of Chinese seafood dishes, Mexican dishes, and spicy Southern dishes. Think squid, jalapenos, and corn bread. None of the food is hot, most was not even warm. I was scared I would get sick. They have an ice cream chest, which is really popular with the kids. Why, I bet the kids touched every flavor there! So if you like cold squid, and fingers in your ice cream, drop 10 bucks to eat at Cicero Buffet. But do it soon, before they get closed for health violations.

My Godson’s first birthday party was held here, and before knowing the location, I thought to myself, how in the world are we gona have a party in a buffet? Well, this place has a huge party room decked out with 4 huge flat screen t.v.s, full surround sound stereo system, kareoke, and a stage! The location is a little um, well out of the box for me and its in like a kiddy corner of the strip mall. I was a little apprehensive because the outside of the restaurant looked a little, well cheap. But hey don’t judge a book by its cover… we walk in and it was beautiful ! golden encrusted walls, haha and a chandelier. The food was OK– nothing out of the ordinary except they had a little bit of everything. I didn’t eat much, but my favorite was their dinner rolls with honey on top and slicing myself up a slice of ham.(I know, at a buffet?) My cousin said her food tasted a tad cold, but I”m not sure. I think buffet food is buffet food– not the best food to eat. If you want to throw a party and not have to really worry about hiring a caterer or something, maybe come here, the party room is great. haha the only thing is if you wanted to be loud you could hear yourself out in the dining hall for the public.. . and there is a t.v. installed near the entrance so you can see where the party’s at.

If you’re going to charge 12 dollars for dinner you need to label food items. The reason is that I couldn’t tell what some of the things were that I was eating and that disgusted me and made me lose my appetite.

This place is definitely interesting. It is obviously a renovated Old Country Buffet, and still has that feel to it. The food is very mediocre, especially the non-chinese dishes. Im still trying to decide if the food at Chicagoland Chinese buffets is really that much worse than the ones in my home state of Michigan, or if I’m now spolied on good city food and no longer appreciate mass-produced fare. Anyway, back to the Cicero… great dessert selection, probably the best I’ve seen at a china buffet. Decent chinese food, the rest is gross. Lots of food for $ 7.65 though!

If you live in the area, you have probably received some coupons or have seen an ad in a coupon book for this place saying that they are the biggest in the area, most selection, etc. Out of all the big fast food-like Chinese Buffets in the area, this is one of the best, but at the same time, I’d say 3 and ½ stars is more accurate, especially with the way they hype themselves up. They do have a fairly good selection, but it isn’t nearly as good as they make themselves out to be. They claim to have American, Italian, Japanese, and Chinese food. I think French Fries accounts for the American, two pasta dishes for Italian, Tempura vegetables fulfills the Japanese claim, and the rest is Chinese. That doesn’t take away from the fact that it is still pretty good for a «Super Buffet.» Are there places I would rather go? Yes, like Q.Q. Buffet or Buffet City, but if you want to stay in the immediate area, try this one. I was just disappointed and surprisd that there was no sushi. There is also a good assortment of fruits for a buffet, including kiwi and mango. People are constantly working to bring you drinks and clean things up too, more of them here than at your average buffet. And if you plan on having a large party, they have a huge room to do it.
