I had a taste for some real Mexican flavor but once again, I still can cook better Mexican food and I’m not bragging. First of all the place is disorganized. Once you walk in, no one says anything and you are just standing or take what every table. I couldn’t tell the what kind of system they have. The place was packed but later I found out they are slow in bringing the food, short on staff, and disorganized. Once I was sit, and my order was taken, I waited over 30 minutes for the food. The orchata and the agua de Tamarindo were super good. We order the combination apetizer and I thought it was missing lots of flavor. We also ordered the salmon fettuccine and it alright. For desert, we had to try the flan wich was the best thing we had. Over all I’m not sure if I’ll come back again. It was also a bit pricy.

Hands down best red salsa around. Tortillas and chips are home made every day. I’ve never had a bad dish. Some of my favorites include their steak tacos/burritos. The La Quabrada meal is must have. It’s marinated grilled flank steak with melted cheese on top. If you like fish they have a phenomenal tilapia dish where they marinate a whole fish in garlic and spices and deep fry the entire fish.

I’ve been coming here for a little over a year now. You would think that coming here as much as I do I would be greeted with a friendly face, but nope. I somehow always feel like a burden. I hate that I’ve been disappointed here more and more. They can sometimes be rude and unfriendly, maybe because I am not of their heritage — who knows. BUT the food has been a little inconsistent lately AND they just raised their prices a bit. Their made from scratch salsas have been all over the place in range of taste and thickness. I think that I am going to take a break from this place for a while and see whats in the surrounding area down Cermak.

My favorite place for a torta. The salsa here is so delicious. Always warm, and the horchata is on point. Its a small location but definitely a gem in Cicero, the service is also very outstanding. Overall if you want a great torta de asada visit this place, btw they have free chips and salsa! Oh forgot to mention if you visit early in the AM the breakfast menu is also very delectable!

Wack food. Their salsa has no flavor, charged $ 7 for what looked like 4 pieces of Burger King french toast.(The French toast was for a child but they charged us $ 7 for that plate.) A plate was missing from our order so we had to wait for that to be prepared. After we finished eating we waited 20 minutes for our check. Tired of waiting I approached the person at the register. When I was up next he asked me if there was a problem. How about you act polite and say hello to me and ask me if you can help me or anything besides«is there a problem.» I didn’t go there to complain and I didn’t. I just wanted to pay for our food and get the fuck out. Weak place, horrible service and rude staff.

Love eating here! Every dish i have tried is delicious. And i love the tortillas! Always been one of my favorite places. Serive is friendly, but i think more waiters should be hired. Its hard work for 1 waiter.

The most authentic Mexican food in all of Cicero! I have been coming here for years! The Steak La Quebrada is the best! Always packed on Sunday mornings so get there early.

Guess who loves you? Yes we do! I’m considering going this week because I’m having a HORRIBLE week and this place is as good as comfort food can get while tasting x200 better then just store snacks. The food looks and tastes amazing, the service is friendly, the interior is comfy and the little snacks are great too. The only downside is well since its so amazing its usually packed. We’ve had to go to other places a few times because we went during their rush hour and it was just too full. This isn’t such a huge downside– it shows what a great restaurant they are!

Whoa mamí. This place is LEGIT. I tried 4 – 5 different things on the menu(sope, burrito, barbacoa de chivo, cecina plate and arrachero rancherito) and they were all delicious. The arrachero was my favorite — spicy, smoky, tender, and saucy. I was least impressed with the cecina, but it was still very good. I see another reviewer commented on the lackluster chips, I guess that’s true. They weren’t that great. But seriously, you DONOT need to fill up on chips with the portions coming out of that kitchen. I usually judge a Mexican restaurant by the basic — salsa, rice, beans, tortillas — La Quebrada’s were fantastic. I wish I had been wearing my elastic pants because I sure as hell needed them after that feast. Word to the wise: coupons available on their website.

O… M…G. So you know how you go to all these mexican restaurants and for some reason everything just seems to taste the same and really lack flavor? Not here. We came here for my mother-in-laws birthday because the place is the closest she has to eating food that tastes like it came from her home town of Teloloapan. I have never tasted such delicious mexican food anywhere else. And that’s the honest to god truth! The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was their chips, but that didn’t cause for a lack of star. And I was hoping they would have the containers with the carrots, but they didn’t. Still didn’t bring down the rating. The Queso Fundido was delicious, and might I add they make their own tamales. SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! I ordered the Arrachera, Sopes y tacos dinner. The arrachera was so flavorful, juicy, tender, the way I like it. The Sopes were delicious and the tacos had that right amount of crispiness in the tortilla. I really can’t wait to come back, and it’s so close to our house so that will be soon!!! Oh, and they have Mexican Coke… so they are automatically on the must visit again list. :D

My partner and I have been here for breakfast 3x. It is the best Mexican breakfast in the area! The diversity of dishes, salsas and meats is excellent and very authentic. Try the huevos campesinos– amazing! A rich chile de Arbol sauce on scrambled eggs. The chilaquiles are also savory and just outstanding. Their corn tortillas — wonderful and thick– feel homemade. The place doesn’t look like much, but the service and quality of the good are excellent. I only wish they had a few sweet items(sweet tamales, pan dulce, crepas) on the menu to complete the meal.

Enjoy coming to La Quebrada. Theres many dishes on their menu I cannot find at just any other Mexican restaurant. Alot of the favorites are still there(tacos, tortas, burritos, etc…) But they also have many dishes that are their own. Today I had the Pechuga Surena. It was quite tasty. They also serve quail and Criadillas de toro al mojo de ajo. If you dont know what criadillas de toro are you can GOOGLE it. Lmao!!!

Wow! I was skeptical but damn. Some of the moistest chicken I ever had. I had the pollo popeye. it was a little spicy, but the ingredients were so fresh. Giant cuts of peppers and tomatoes. Very very surprised and impressed. I usually don’t like spending too much time in Cicero, but if I’m in the area I’m coming back here.

We found this place through Unilocal and ended up being really happy with it! One of the more authentic mexican places I’ve been to. My wife got the chicken fajitas and she said it was some of the best fajitas she’s ever had. I can agree with that because she was nice enough to share with me! I got a chorizo taco with onion and cilantro(perfection) and a steak with some arbol sauce over corn, potatoes, zucchini, and a few other veggies. I was left wanting more veggies; it was a tiny smattering of veggies and I was expecting more based on the description on the menu and I wasn’t a huge fan of the sauce, but the steak was very well cooked and the frijoles were very good. Also, the chips and salsa were great. The salsa has a different flavor to it than you’d get at other places. It was smoky. I still felt it was missing something and we did end up adding some hot chipotle sauce to spice it up, but it was still really good. My wife REALLY liked it. I’d go here again to try their mole. They sell it in tubs to the public, so it must be good!

Steaks have no fat. Guacamole is not spicy(just what I want). Only diced tomato is spicy so I wasted that on my plate(wish they left that out). Orchata is perfectly made. Only the bean soup is… meh. Tasted like it came from a can. No wonder it is free with meal. This is one of my Aunt’s favorite so we’ll be back again.

Cute little place. Another cute option not too far from my work. It’s a funny place because it looks like an old American /breakfast diner kinda place from the outside that must have been converted. It is a Mexican restaurant but the décor always cracks me up because it looks like a «mom and pop /steak and eggs» kinda place. Service is always good. Food is good. You can also order to go and they are cool with that! Just your basic Mexican food: tortas /burritos /tostadas etc etc. One thing I will warn everyone about –I ordered a carrot juice once and it alone was $ 7. You can imagine my sticker shock when my boyfriend and I ordered breakfast and it was like $ 30. They are super affordable but add that extra $ 14 to the bill and we were like, «Whoa!» So I would definitely ask the price before ordering juice!

Located on Roosevelt Road around some empty warehouses, there is street parking in front or at most, 1 block away. Since you’re just there to eat, the area is pretty safe. The eating area is pretty open and bright with a large tv on the East wall. You can see the mechanical juicer toward the front. The menu is pretty vast and there are all kinds of regional specialties. If you’re adventurous with your dining options, they will have something to fit your desires. There are combinations and simple choices as well. I had the enchiladas with mole and the sauce was smoky but not overpowering. The rice and beans are pretty good and the prices are reasonable.
