Place is clean, patio(where they serve food, yes really) was very pleasant. Takes a while to get food, but I thought it was very good and well put together. The salmon was a minute or two overdone, but perfectly seasoned. I thought the music was decent — live tonight — and not overly loud. It seems that they are very attentive to their reviews, as the negative things I saw in other reviews seem to have been dealt with. Our server and trainee server were both very pleasant. Four stars for the good stuff, minus one for the salmon. Ya gotta have your salmon perfect.

This place is very cool on the reservoir-the outside seating is fun and there was a dj the night we were there. The bartenders were quick to serve our drinks. It’s a shame they don’t serve food out there. I heard they did, but stopped. We were seated and had a large table. Our waitress tried to be up front with us and said they were slammed and had even told us that a lot of people didn’t show up for the day. It took almost an hour for them to get guacamole and chips to the table. The reason we were given was because they had to make more chips. Thankfully, my husband and I had already eaten or I would have likely asked to speak to the manager. These people were hungry and the wait was ridiculous. Then ended up asking for the checks and we all left. This place has potential, but needs some major help.

Our waitress sarah was very nice. It is very obvious they cater to the locals and we felt very rushed to get through our meal so the patio table could be used for the locals. Food was decent, but not great.

We drove by this place countless times when it was an empty building, and watched it transform into a new restaurant as we drove back and forth from home to Anderson University where our daughter was a student. When she graduated, she chose to celebrate at Lazy Frogg. I noted the mixed reviews here but she was really excited about dining there after the graduation ceremony We arrived for an early dinner and were seated immediately. The place became increasingly busy after we were seated. We ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer and it was delicious. It comes with a jalapeño glaze dip that has a nice kick and an otherwise bland garlic dip. I ordered the special salmon entrée, served in a bourbon glaze. It was served burnt. My daughter ordered pan seared trout that was cooked correctly. My wife ordered prime rib cooked medium well and it arrived more than well done. My mother-in-law ordered southwest chicken that was tough and stringy. My mother ordered a grilled tenderloin and received a breaded tenderloin. The server who brought out our orders was not our server and was extremely confused not only about who ordered what, but what what was on the plates! We brought this to the attention of our server who brought the owner to our table. The owner was very apologetic and worked very hard to see that we had new entrees and reduced our bill. My wife kept her over-done prime rib. My mother got her grilled tenderloin which she said was delicious. My salmon was properly cooked, and the glaze has a nice crunch to it, but there wasn’t much taste to the glaze. My mother-in-law replaced her chicken with a grilled bacon and cheese sandwich that she liked. The atmosphere of this place is really nice, with great views of the reservoir and outdoor seating and bar. We went outside to take photos and a passing waitress offered to take photos. Inside décor carries the water theme, reminding me of seafood restaurants in Florida. It’s like Lazy Frogg is trying really hard to be more than it’s capable of delivering. I would recommend avoiding the entrees(which I thought were a bit over-priced) and order the pub sandwiches and salads. This is really a pub, and that’s what they seem to be best at.

I’ll give it a two because of the location and nice atmosphere. But for the price me and wife paid, we were disappointed. Our bill was almost 80 bucks and we didn’t even order drinks and desert. In retrospect we should have ate at Ericas place down the road instead and hit the liquor store afterwards.

Had the brunch today, it was good. The omlette are made fresh while you wait, you choose any or all was very good, nice selection of ingredients. Fried potatoes, biscuits and gravy. almost anything youd want for breakfast. The lunch portion was adequet for the price of this type brunch. Its not a full hot bar as far as full pieces of fried chicken, or chicken n noodles, or a prime rib. However, keep in mind this is a general 12.95 not a 30.00 entrée. Those places are available if you have 40.00 for far as nice quick friendly fresh food this was as good as any I’ve tried. The service was very prompt and through, although very crowded after church the staff all pitched in to keep the flow of the crowd moving and satisfied. Clean environment throughout. will recommend and return.

Unfortunately, I think this place was more about the hype of having something other than Wolfies to go to on the water. I think it’d be best as just a bar with bar food instead of a restaurant. The big back deck and party area suggest more of a bar scene(just my opinion). The service was ok but the food was so bland and over priced. They’ve really done a great job with redoing the place, but let’s face it food is the heart and soul of a restaurant and they just don’t have it here. Maybe get different menu choices or spruce up what you currently offer especially for the prices.

We had a group of 10 on a Saturday night. The owner, Greg, came to our table and introduced himself. He explained many menu items and how all of their sauces and salad dressings are made in house. He’s very proud of this place and they have put a lot of time and money into the remodel of this restaurant. Service was very VERY slow. It took our table about 20 minutes to get our drinks. The server explained that there was one bartender and that the bar was packed. It had 4 people in it. I ordered frog legs, bacon wrapped prawns and the scallops with risoto. For $ 9 I didn’t think the frog legs would be very big — and they weren’t. I would rather pay $ 15 and get some more meat on the leg. The sauces that were drizzled on the legs were very, very good! The bacon wrapped prawns were good as well, but just not very warm. That was the theme for most of the appetizers and entrees that our entire table had as well — food was room temperature, not hot. The scallops had very good flavor, but it looked like they had been baked rather than pan seared. There was absolutely no color or crunch on the top and bottom(lacking the pan sear) but the size was nice and the risoto portion was complementing. It could have used a little more salt. We sat and had a few drinks after. We were getting ready to cancel our last round of drinks due to the slow(and getting slower) service, but they arrived just in time. The weird thing is how quickly our checks came! I would try this restaurant again, and I think the outdoor patio area would be a lot of fun in the summer during boating season. I really hope this place makes it. If they read these reviews, I hope they take this away: *Faster service *Friendlier staff *Get the food out quickly so it is HOT *Pan sear those scallops!

Heard some bad reviews, but still had to check out a new place on the lake! It was in the middle of the day on a Thursday, so getting a table outside wasn’t a problem. Staff was pretty mediocre, I expect friendly service anywhere that I spend my money and this place didn’t really do it for me. The food was extremely bland. I got a chicken salad wrap(said it had pecans – no pecans. Not mad about it – just sayin’) and my boyfriend got a breaded tenderloin – an Indiana tradition! The tenderloin was terrible. Probably frozen then sent straight to the fryer. Both dishes extremely boring with hardly any flavor. The sweet potato fries were good! I was trying to branch out from my usual lakefront restaurant, Wolfies, but I will probably just stick to my roots when I want to eat on the lake.

OMG!!! We looked at the reviews and thought, we better stay away… Against our better judgement, we wanted to enjoy the ambience on the river and went with the thought the food would be equivalent to a fast food restaurant. Showed up and asked for outside seating. We were told«45 minutes». Asked if we could sit at a table near the bar and were told it was against Indiana law to have kids in the outside seating area were alcohol was served??? Doesn’t the inside part of the restaurant serve alcohol as well? Manager was an a**h**e. His explanation sounded like an elementary school scholar. After about an hour and thirty minutes(1.5 hours), the manager informed us that the group sitting at the table we were waiting for was just sitting there drinking water. They already are and paid for their bill. We asked if the manager could inform the party others were waiting, and he became argumentative. It’s not like the other party just finished. We were waiting for over an hour and a half!!! Offered the idea of inviting the party to the bar for some free drinks from the restaurant and again, the manager was argumentative and asked us what we wanted him to do… How about putting other tables together??? How about offering an appetizer on the manager? How about being apologetic and offering a solution? Being a manager, one would expect him to be able to handle potential issues and excel in conflict resolution. Decided to spend our money at another restaurant and enjoyed it. Will write a review for the better restaurant on another review. In conclusion, remember why Unilocal was developed — a great guide to decide on where to spend your money. I discount bad reviews here and there, but the writing was on the wall — the average Unilocal reviewer gave Lazy Frogg 2.5 stars. And the reviewers gave great explanations why. Users beware… Looks nice but wouldn’t give them a dollar of your hard earned money.

This place is has only been open for 3 – 4 months in its current form so it’s probably still experiencing some growing pains. The owner greeted us as we entered through dock off of a friends boat. He seemed great and full of energy, unfortunately his staff did not share his enthusiasm. We arrived late… probably about 9pm and we had a large group off 11 people. We were seated inside because the patio was full. The staff gave us the impression we weren’t welcome since we arrived so late on a Saturday night and they were looking to cleanup and get out of there. I tried the owner recommended spicy prawn appetizer and it was less than impressive. Shrimp weren’t bad but«spicy» Sauce was weak! I had the southwest chicken entre. The chicken was bland in short. It came with smashed potatoes that were good but one bite had a bitter burnt chunk that kind of ruined them. It came with an ear of grilled corn that was good but the ear of sweet corn should have been discarded rather than cooked as half of it wasn’t even developed. Like the kind of ear you toss and don’t eat. Service was slow especially since we were one of like 5 parties indoors. The staff was concentrating on cleaning rather than our service. I may try it again but I’ll let everyone else pay for them to figure it out. If it’s still open next summer maybe I’ll check it out again.

Went to this restaurant on a Wednesday night. It was maybe 50% full. Went to the bar and ordered a Coors light and two Mojitos. The bartender gave me the Coors light and said the Mojitos would take a bit. I said OK and then stood there for over 10 minutes and watched him make other drinks and serve beer to other people. I left after it became apparent he was not going to make the other two drinks for me. Back at our dinner table I explained to the two girls why I didn’t have their drinks and said that the bartender was either bad at his job or was not interested in being there… The manager/owner overheard me saying this and turned to me and said in a snotty voice«that is entirely not true» and walked away. Is that a way to treat customers and get them to come back? This isn’t my first bad experience at this place but it will be my last… at least until this place goes under and new owners take over it(which will eventually happen) I did give it two stars because the actual building and the atmosphere is pretty awesome, too bad none of the employees are friendly or care about what they are doing. Food is average at best. I still can’t get over an owner of a brand-new restaurant mouthing off to customers, unbelievable. If you go, beware. We know tons of people on Morse and everyone says the same thing about this place…“average food, Great atmosphere, horrible service”

Had the wedge, buddy had the same and frogs legs. My bride had the wedge, mashed potatoes and the prawn appetizer. Seriously the wedge is more than than enough and was fantastic. Everyone enjoyed their meals and had a drink. Ate in the bar area which is decorated wonderfully done. Would highly recommend trying this place. Don’t think you are coming here at 6pm and be immediately seated. It is a busy place. There is a reason it’s busy — because it’s good. Talked with an owner of the place /very nice and concerned about our experience. These reviews of the place don’t do it justice. Try it and forget the haters

This is my second time eating at the Frogg. The first time the service was lackluster, however this was in April when they just opened. Everyone I had spoke with shared a similar experience. We went back tonight, and it appears to be the same sitch. I wanted to polish off around 4 beers so I could get some sleep tonight. The server stated that they only had one size, a 16 ounce. I was a hot little potato when I saw someone carrying a 24 ounce minutes later. Know the menu for heavens sake! The food is average, but let’s keep it real, no one is expecting a 5 star meal. Anywho, the server only came around 2 times to check on us and quickly walked by us(even when we made direct eye contact). I was only able to slug down two brews during the course of this meal. We heard rumblings from the table behind us also complaining about the service. I think the place has potential and could be a good thing for the town of Cicero. They are already digging themselves into a dirty little hole, because the staff does not seem to be motivated and/or that friendly. Maybe the owner loves to hire sourpusses… I don’t know

So this is my 2nd visit here. 1st trip we just came for drinks which were underwhelming. My long island was not made correctly(I am a bartender myself and know the proper way to make one) and my girlfriend had a watered down«Lilly Pad». The atmosphere is nice and being able to sit outside is nice. Today we came for lunch and spent the whole afternoon here. We arrived at 12:05 and were seated immediately. Then we did not see our waitress until 12:20. She was very nice and took our order quickly. We then sat until 1:10 before we saw food. Our waitress was very nice and offered to take care of a free dessert for us. But due to allergies in our group and the fact that dessert would probably take another 30 minutes we declined. I did step aside and talked to the manager and told him about the issues we had experienced. He was everything but kind. But after having to ask for it we had 2 meals taken off our bill. We were celebrating an anniversary and he took their meals off. I can assure you that we will not be back and would warn those we know not to spend their money there strictly based on the service. Let’s discuss the food itself. They do not understand the difference between medium-rare and well done on a burger. If you order the Ceasar Wrap, call it the«Ceasar» Wrap because they forgot that part. The only thing they got right was how to put fries in the fryer. I hope the newness wears off on this local place and it sees the same fate as the place that inhabited it before.

I always passed this place on my journey to work with anticipation to try Lazy Frog and I was very unsatisfied. The layout of the place is nice and location is great for a view of the lake and that’s the only reason I did not give this restaurant just one star. After we were seated our server came over and was not the least bit friendly. The look on her face was«I hate my job, is today over yet!?» We ordered drinks and after giving them to us forgot to give us straws and by the time we saw her again our drinks we’re finished. The mixed drinks are overpriced and I couldn’t even taste the alcohol in them. We were not the only ones getting bad service. The table behind us had their entire food taken back to the kitchen for being undercooked and cold and the table across from us had beer taken back because the keg was messed up. After I had to mix drinks that literally just tasted like Kool Aid I decided to get a beer and the beer was warm. How do you mess up cold beer?! I’m not sure but lazy frog managed to. Onece our food finally arrived we had ordered the flatbread pizza. It was literally the most tasteless thing I’ve ever had in my life and was mixed with the strangest flavor. We did not have silverware because our waiter had forgot something again so we set 10 minutes until we were able to eat. Overall the location is good but I would never go back without some major improvements. The staff is not very upbeat and the food is lacking quality. After seeing this place on the news I has high expectations that were shortly lived. Lazy frog is a great name for this restaurant since it descibes the overall atmosphere of the restaurant… Lazy.

We had a work outing here after a volunteer activity in Cicero and I think everyone in our group was oretty impressed. The location is great, plenty of parking, and if you have a boat on Morse you could even dock right by the restaurant and have a bite. As far as the food goes they had a buffet laid out for our group and everything I tried off of it was very good. I particularly liked the wings with the jalapeño honey sauce. The bleu cheese dip had nice big chunks of cheese that made it a great compliment. The pretzel bread breadsticks were soft and the cheese dipping sauce was very tasty. The garlic hummus and naan bread were both very fresh, and the fried green beans were crispy and the chipotle cream dipping sauce had the right amount of heat. Also, as for the drinks they have some really good craft beers on tap including Three Floyds Bend The Knee! The whole restaurant seemed new and clean and that nice lakeside tropical vibe. Our service was very prompt as well. Being that I didn’t come in as a regular patron ordering off if the menu I didn’t think I could really give a full five stars, but my wife and I will be going back. Hopefully it will be on a night where they have live music and after they have their new outdoir bar set up.

There are clearly a lot of issues that still need to be worked out at this place, but it really has a lot of potential! The location is great, the menu looks good(price point a bit too high for Cicero), the bar is seriously lacking. A place like this should be more bar focused, especially with the location. Add about 40 more taps, bring in some local beer and teach your small community that there’s more to beer than Budweiser. I went with a few friends for drinks and appetizers. We had a good time, my frog legs were nice and tender, but I wouldn’t trust that kitchen staff to cook me a trout. You guys need to get back to basics, concentrate on food quality and catering to your guests. Bring that menu cost down, bring in more alcohol. Cheers!

I was extremely disappointed in the food. I had the Crab Mac which was to have jumbo crab meat, and it actually had a smashed up crab cake mixed in the pasta. There was also supposed to have asparagus and tomatoes in it, but there was red pepper in place of the tomatoes and only a few shavings of an asparagus spear. The wings were good. The service was also pretty good. We will give them some time to correct issues and meal preparations before we return. The atmosphere is perfect with a picturesque view of Morse Reservoir. The colors have a beachy feel. The owners shared no expense in renovations and décor. We love the location and hope the can deliver better food in the future.

We decided to try out our new home town, long awaited Morse Reservoir lake front restaurant this evening. The outside is still under construction but looks promising for a fun spot to hang this summer. We were greeted promptly by a very friendly hostess and seated immediately despite the restaurant being a bit busy. Although we didn’t get a prime seat with a view, it was comfortable and quick. The décor inside has a fun beachy feel I’d hope for from a waterfront location. Our server Kelsea was friendly and attentive. They have a great selection on the drink menu of mixed drinks, wines and beers on draft and bottle. The food menu offered a wide variety of choices with many tempting and somewhat unique selections. We had the blackened tuna appetizer which was a little over seared and cut a tad thick but it had great flavor and kick. I chose the Crab Mac and my husband picked the fish and chips. Both meals arrived to the perfect temp and with a minimal wait. The fish and chips was quite tasty but pretty light on the fish, only two smaller portions of cod for a $ 16 plate was a little disappointing. The crab Mac had awesome flavor however did not arrive as described on the menu(roasted red peppers instead of cherry tomatoes is a pretty big difference). I reported the discrepancy to the wait staff and no adjustment was made to my bill which was fine but a little disappointing. The restaurant and bar area are charming but it is pretty loud, I saw no evidence of noise absorbing techniques in the construction. When we sat at the bar after dinner I had to repeat my drink order quite loudly as it was difficult for the bartender to hear. All in all, our experience was good and we will be back, likely frequently since we live near by. Hopefully the next visit will be more impressive, I have high hopes for this place. By the way, to let the last reviewer know, Frogg is spelled with 2 G’s as the owner’s name is spelled with 2 G’s.
