If I I was out of work… living in an unfinished house… Burning wood for heat and just so happened to be hungry, I would go eat at Chickies. Seriously it’s that cheap. Maxwell street is cheaper, but it’s also much farther away, so why wait? just go to chickies. Oh, and don’t forget they have gravy bread too.

Came to chickie’s with my gf on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. I grew up eating at the original chickie’s in south lawndale /little village neighborhood so I knew how delicious their beefs were especially when u ordered it sweet and hot and extra juicy! And you couldn’t forget the fries or a gravy bread. So when you walked out with a greasy paper bag you walked out with a delicious meal. After the original owner sold the place I followed the original crew to their taylor street location and there was still hope for that chickie’s beef fix. But that location didn’t last and then they settled in Cicero. Now because of all that moving around I unfortunately ended up getting my Italian beef fix at my gf favorite spot«Al’s beef on Taylor St.» So with that being said, I unfortunately felt the taste of the beefs at this location lacked the flavor of the original chickie’s or its competitor on Taylor St. But I would still recommend to give chickie’s Italian beef a try and find out for yourself. Also check out their daily specials.

My third time here and haven’t been disappointed yet!!! Awesome friendly service and affordable fresh food. The chicken sandwich on French bread with mozzarella cheese is soo good. The tables are clean the employees are always smiling
