18|8 Fine Men’s Salon

My gold standard for salons/​spas that cater to men is Modern Male in Dublin OH. Since we’ve been living in northern KY for about three years now, I’ve been searching for a place that replicates that formula. I’ve found something very close. Went in today for an afternoon of pampering — haircut, straight razor shave, facial, scalp treatment, manicure, and pedicure. Overall, I was very pleased with this place, and I want to give special praise to my stylist, Julie. She was excellent — she did the shave, the facial, the scalp treatment, and the haircut. My wife commented immediately when I returned home how nice my hair looked.
So, there are some services this salon does not currently offer — they do not do massages, and they don’t appear to do a paraffin dip for the manicure and pedicure, although their web page mentions it. So, if you’re looking for those services, you might want to check around, although to be honest, I have yet to find anyone in N Ky/​Cincinnati area that does the paraffin dip.
Overall though, I enjoyed my day there greatly, and would go back again. Well worht giving a try, if you like a little bit of pampering every now and then.

I just had a very pleasant experience with Andre. I made an appointment last minute and ended up being 5 minutes late. As it was my fault and Andre had another appointment immediately after me (during the lunch rush), I offered to skip some of the add-​ons provided for each service. They shampoo before and after the cut (important for men when going back to work), offer hot towel service and a neck shave. Andre insisted I receive what I was paying for and worked quickly and efficiently to squeeze everything in. The haircut turned out great and I will definitely be back. This place and Andre are top-​notch. Highly recommend.

Darnell was really incredible. He did a fantastic job and made the experience what it was. I left feeling relaxed, clean, and most importantly confident. Darnell definitely knows what he was doing. My girlfriend spent all night commenting on how great my hair looked. Side note: Hot towels are amazing for a hangover.

I used to be a Great Clips kinda guy, but after a disaster of a haircut I figured I’d try to step it up a bit. My first experience at 18|8 was excellent! Andre gave an awesome haircut that I was very happy with. I was nervous since I was trying a cut I’d never tried before, but he consulted and worked with me so that I got exactly what I wanted. He gave great attention to detail and checked numerous times throughout the haircut to make sure I was happy with the way it was going.
The price is more than what I’m used to paying for a haircut, but you definitely get what you pay for. The staff were very friendly, the atmosphere was classy and professional, and the results were top notch. This was definitely the best experience I’ve had getting my hair cut and I’m sure that I’ll be back!

Brought my nephew here before prom for his first full-​service salon experience. He looked fabulous and said it was relaxing. I’ll definitely be bringing him back!

Great experience, very professional and nice ambiance, almost spa like. Staff is very attentive, beverages while you wait (rarely have to wait for more than a minute or two). Owner is extremely nice and cares about his brand very much. Excellent hair stylist, comfy chairs and hot towel treatment is a nice touch.

Took my boyfriend here for a birthday gift and it was perfect! He got the executive manicure package and the pedicure. The executive manicure includes a neck and shoulder massage and a haircut. Tracy was his stylist and did a great job listening to what he wanted and doing what worked best with his hair and also teaching him how to style it at home. He has never had a manicure or pedicure before and he said she did great and it was not too girly. Very happy with the service they bring you coffee, tea, beer, juice, water, and/​or a snack while you wait for your chair. He plans on returning again even when it is not a gift.

Classy from top to bottom. Great haircut that I loved and didn’t feel rushed through. Had a very positive experience consulting with Darci about what I wanted. The price was right at $ 33 too.
Just a heads up, I wouldn’t have felt comfortable coming in in jeans and a t-​shirt. This is a more upscale pampering atmosphere.

Being an Oakley resident, and always with an eye out for a good haircut, I ventured into 18|8 at the last minute before a business trip. The setting is very nice — not feminine or overly masculine — just… comfortable.
I didn’t have an appointment, but I came to find out that one of the stylists actually stayed late so I could get a cut. Kudos to them and thanks!
The receptionist was pleasant and walked me through the services and I was set up with a haircut with Andre. He couldn’t have been more pleasant.
The worry I typically have for haircuts is a clipper and two minutes of cutting. Not here. Andre was meticulous both in understanding what I wanted and in the cut itself. I never felt like I was being rushed to get through.
After the cut (I got the executive cut), I received a hot towel treatment and a couple of minutes of a neck massage.
I’m going to see how my hair grows in, but as of now, I’m really happy with my first experience at 18|8 and hope to see its local owner, Chris, be a success.
