To start I love Avril Bleh’s. They are the best and we go there almost every Saturday to get our meats. So I wanted to try out the deli. I think I ordered wrong and should have are in but I was in a bit of a rush. We had the Beer Belly Ruben and the Buffalo chicken wrap along with some pasta and potato salads. The sides were pretty good and the Ruben was quite tasty. Would have been better if it had not gotten a bit soggy in transport. I was not a fan of the wrap. I am excited to try their outdoor grill in the summer. We will definitely be back to give it another try and hopefully up the star rating.

Great little sandwich shop. Their bacon cheeseburger is great! I usually head to Avril’s at least once a week. The burgers take a little longer than most of their menu items since they are cooked to order, but well worth the wait!(If I want it to go, I just call ahead and it is ready to roll after the short walk from my office.) For dessert, don’t forget to grab a Jennie’s Cookie. My choice is always the Reese’s Pieces cookie!!! The service is awesome!!! Maybe it’s because I’m such a frequent customer, but I can just say«Make a Mark Burger» and they get it perfect!!! As cooler weather gets closer, this means it is time for them to bring back their Soup of the Day. The chili is the best!!! They also have a sandwich loyalty punch card.(Buy 10 and get your next one free.) Don’t forget to get a punch on your card!!! The staff stays fairly consistent, and the owner is there most days. She does a good job focusing her staff on customer service.

Meat was delicious. Sandwich was delicious. But the cookies were $ 3 each. They were good… but not worth $ 3. No single cookie of normal size is worth $ 3. No sign telling you the price either… so that was frustrating.

Avril-Bleh Deli is simply wonderful. Located on Court Street between Vine and Walnut(next to Huit), it’s in a good location for both the CBD and OTR frequenters who need a meal on their lunch hour. I personally do most of my business and living on 4th, so it’s a quick 6 block walk north which is barely exercise; the other great thing about its location is the fact that there’s a Red Bike station at the end of the street on Vine and Court, so getting to and from there is even easier if you use that service. It’s not very big, but has indoor and outdoor seating if you’re interested in sticking around for a meal. The counter, which is directly straight through the door, is large and hosts a variety of fresh sides(think deli in Whole Foods) and all look delicious. They have several coolers around with a variety of drinks and sides as well. The service I received was prompt, friendly, and wasted no time in getting me my sandwich. Excellent service is definitely a key factor in why I’m giving it a perfect 5 stars. The sandwich I had(the Italian) was excellent. Filled with all the things you figured it’d have, they definitely do this particular sandwich well. The bread was especially good as it tasted like it was made fresh(and if not fresh there, then recently fresh somewhere). I also got a side of parmesan pasta and that was the perfect companion to the sandwich. The price for both of these wasn’t crazy, either. $ 7.75 for the sandwich and $ 2.50 for the pasta isn’t bad for all the food you get. It’s rare I can get a filling, delicious meal for roughly $ 10. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you’re in the area and want a good lunch, this is a great option.

Avril Bleh’s deli is a great lunch spot downtown. The sandwich menu is pretty extensive and everything I’ve tried has been great, the Cuban being my personal favorite. They also have a pretty good selection of sides and salads. During the spring and summer they have a grill outside for burgers and the like, which is awesome on a nice day if you can grab a seat at one of the tables. Can get pricy with sandwich, side and a drink, but is worth it for a nice quality lunch and friendly service.

Seriously one of my favorite places for lunch in the city! They’re truly a Court street staple. All of their employees are super nice and accommodating. They’re always updating their menu but are always sure to hold on to the crowd favorites. Tips: –Lunch time is always busy, try going between 11& noon or after 2. –Try the new black bean burger! –During the summer months, grab something off their outdoor grill and takea seat outside and enjoy.

My sandwich go to place when I am at work downtown. It is perfect for a quick lunch. I am always in and out in less than 45 mins. Wish they had more side options, but I go for the Cuban and Ruben sandwich :) make sure you pick up a sandwich card. 12th one is on the house!

Sandwiches and wraps are good and the second most beautiful woman in Cincinnati works there. However I was reprimanded for not knowing the difference between the three menus. They opt not to display which menu is «sandwich», «wrap», and«salad». In the words of one Mr. Steve Martin…“WELLEXCUUUUUUUUSSSSSEEEEMMMMMEEEEEEEE!”

Whereas Avril-Bleh’s meat market has been open in Cincinnati for generations, its«Marketplace and Deli» next door has been open only for a couple of years. While the the former is solidly entrenched Cinci institution, the latter might be struggling to make a distinct impression not only in a crowded lunchtime field downtown but even within the«Restaurant Row» of Court Street. It’s an unassuming little place: a small urban-style market with a modest offering of produce and other grocery items, plus a deli counter offering sandwiches made mostly from the meats next door, plus salads. Some of the sandwiches are quite good: The«smokehouse»(brisket), for instance, is delicious. The Italian uses decent cold cuts from next door, but it’s somehow underwhelming, probably because of the bread. But others can miss the mark. The«Cuban» was served with ham and turkey(rather than ham and roast pork). It’s flavorful, but the one I got was served on a soft rye bread rather than the traditional, sturdy Cuban bread, and it emerged from the press kinda soggy.(In general, the bread used in Avril-Bleh’s sandwiches doesn’t seem to measure up to the sandwiches’ contents.) The young folks behind the counter, most of whom are members of the family that owns the meat market, are quite friendly. During warmer months, the Marketplace/Deli sets up a sidewalk grill, serving brats, burgers, and the like, giving you a chance to sample more wares from the meat market next door. This stuff appears to be mostly pre-grilled, but it can still be pretty good.
