Bad experience with this veterinarian’s main interest $$$. Warning find another veterinarian to go to! Please do not sign any contract’s with them you will regret it!

Banfield is located in a PetSmart store. Banfield is more accessible than my regular vet. Banfield has office hours in the afternoon on Saturday and all day Sunday. Sometimes, they will take and hold your dog and slip them in between regular appointments. Most Cincinnati vets do not have this much availability. Recently, I wandered around shopping while waiting for my dog that I had given to Banfield to slip in between regular appointments. One of Banfield’s vets, Beth Cunningham, called me on my cell phone and gave me a clear description of my dog’s problem (bleeding from a dislodged skin tag on an upper eye lid, bloody and very disturbing but not serious). When I picked up my dog, Dr. Cunningham provided a clear discussion. My dog, who is very afraid of vet offices, was comfortable with her. I subsequently brought him to see her again on short notice on a Saturday afternoon. His new problems are so far unresolved. The negative side of Banfield is that they are expensive and try and upsell you. They have an insurance plan that they try to sell; I suggest that if someone wants pet insurance, they should get it from an independent vendor.

AMAZING STAFF! Alisha is the only person who can get my cats to calm down and they let her put Soft Paws on them no problem. I am so impressed with their speed of service, yet their level of care is so high! These people, Alisha, especially, care about your pet, and handle them with love and care.

It’s a little pricey (especially for pet medications), but their staff is always kind and helpful. It’s nice to watch your dogs get excited (instead of terrified) to go to the vet, and that’s what this place provides.
We’ve had really bad experiences with other Banfields in the past, but are glad we gave the Hyde Park outlet a try.

I honestly wish I could do lower than one star. I have taken 2 boxers there for the first year of their life. We ran away as fast as possible after my girl boxer Kita actually died and resuscitated during her spay. We went in to pick her up and the vet on staff didnt even come to talk to us initially. A vet tech told us she had some complications– and said «honestly she died and we were able to bring her back– we think it was the anesthesia she then told us to avoid the anesthesia in the future. The kicker is the vet came in right around when she was telling us what had happened then escorted her out. There was NO record of the incident in her records. Kita is now 5 years old– and still has damage from the death on the table– her tongue permanently sticks out on the left side. Thankfully she can eat– but we now have to spray her tongue with a solution to keep it moist. I know they attracted me with the insurance plan– but there are TONS of vets that take alternative insurance. Don’t put your furbabies in danger.
Oh– and the kicker– after I demanded our account be canceled (you know they killed my dog– but thankfully got resuscitated) — they autorenewed it, and put us in collections after we refused to go there or pay because we canceled.

The wellness plan insurance is a joke. I paid around $ 25 a month after a year it renewed. I was sick of paying monthly and wanted to take my pet in one more time. I found out that services above what I had paid since renewal I would have to pay if I canceled. Meaning 2 months into 2^nd yr of membership I paid around 50 bucks. If my cat was cared for all charges above $ 50.00 i would have to pay out of pocket. What a waste of money! I paid $ 350.00 plus all additional fees when my pet was see. Don’t sign up for this stupid «insurance» not everything is covered.

Yeah!!! So happy we came here for our dogs vaccinations! The entire staff was wonderful! Dr. Catherine Smith was the best! Our dog loved her! We will be bringing our cat in next. Very very happy! If you are looking for a fabulous vet this is THE place to go!

We’ve been really happy with Banfield’s services for our dog. We opted for the unlimited pay-​per-​month (vs pay-​per-​visit) plan, since we just adopted him and had no clue how many adventures (aka vet visits) we’d have in store. The front desk staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the vet at the Oakley location has always taken the time to explain things to us clearly. The electronic records system they have is super advanced and more sophisticated than many doctors offices. We were able to take our pup to another Banfield location (Mason) without any questions and see that vet.

I paid for the insurance plan which is alittle high. I felt rushed coming in.

We’ve been Banfield customers since we rescued our dog in NC and went to buy him some food/​water bowls. «Hey, there’s a veterinarian here! Maybe we should talk to them…» Many dollars later…
But not as many as it should have cost! That’s why we keep taking our Scooby to Banfield — the Wellness Plan. We pay $ 30 per month, and all of his preventive stuff (including dental cleanings and shots) is covered. We pay for none of it. We also get a discount (20%) on the stuff that isn’t preventive, including his flea & tick. When we first rescued Scooby, we were poor graduate students and he had a advanced case of heartworm. Without the wellness plan, we would not have been able to afford his healthcare.
Scooby has been to several Banfields in his day, but I have to say that I’ve been happiest with the staff in the Oakley location. Scooby is awful with veterinarians — lots of growling, biting, urination, you get the picture — but the staff here are understanding and helpful during his fits. The veterinarian herself is also very thorough and really asks us a lot of questions to make sure that she has the whole picture before treatment.
If you have a vet you like, I wouldn’t recommend you switch. But if you are short on cash and have a new dog, I’d recommend coming in to chat about the plans they have available.
