I walked in and was nicely greeted and given a beverage, then I was brought back to her station. From there things went downhill. The stylist barely talked to me because she was too busy chatting with Co workers. She barely used any hairspray so 2 hrs later and my updo is completely unraveling! Everyone there was dressed in sweat pants or leggings. For the 75 $ price tag, I should have had a better service.

Seriously just had the WORST customer service experience of my life. I have gone here multiple times. Have enjoyed the experience. Today I made it quite clear what I wanted by showing her my hair right when I got there, «THISISWHAT I WANT, JUSTDOTHIS.» Several times during the appointment I stopped her saying, «This isn’t what I want.» Finally, I had enough and knew I was just going to go home and shower and start over. But before I did this I had to ARGUE with this stylist. I had have her treat me horribly in front of other customers. The receptionist tried to get her to stop and the manager tried to get her to stop but no one had control over her. It was terrible. Left with a terrible hair style and a foul mood. Worse, I have gift certificates I am not going to use because I will not be back.

Tried to call and set up my first appointment and with their limited evening hours I was not successful. The person who answered the phone was cordial at first but as soon as I said that the times available didn’t work for me he said something(unknown) very quickly and hung up. With limited evening hours and a very over priced menu of services I will stick with my salon(Pump Salon in Rookwood). Great idea, rude staff, over priced.

I wanted a blow out before my friends wedding in which I was giving a reading, so wanted a polished and sophisticated look. I found Blown on Unilocal, and chose to go there due to it’s proximity to downtown Cincinnati. The salon itself was warm and inviting, I was offered a beverage right away and even though I had arrived early they were able to accommodate me and get me out fast. I had a whirlwind style(I have super straight hair and if I want a look to stay I need to arrive with«dirty hair» — old modeling trick) and asked the stylist to do loose curls. My stylist was efficient and the curls looked great — they fell beautifully and looked great for the wedding. Even one day after they held their style and looked good — wish I could do this style all the time! The pricing was right — I pay a little bit more for blow dry services living in San Francisco and I felt that given the location and the services the price was fair. I received lots of compliments and recommend Blown to others looking to polish their look for a special occasion.

I wish I could ‘heart’ Blown, but there are too many issues going on with this place. At first glance, it seems like everything is going right. The interior space décor has been carbon copied from the more popular dry bar chain of blowout studios. First, I must say I was happy with my service. My stylist, Shawntee, was bubbly and upbeat. My style lasted all day and I probably could’ve gotten another day out of it with a little zhuzh the next morning. But, one of my biggest annoyances is incorrect pricing on websites. And sometime between when they opened 5 months ago and when I had my style last week, they raised the price of service by $ 5.(The website is updated now, FWIW). NOTETOBUSINESSOWNERS: When you increase your prices and you put a little note by the register, never ever EVER use the term«we have expensive taste» as the reasoning behind the increase. What does that even mean? Am I subsidizing your penchant for luxury? One too many extravagant ‘buying’ trips to NYC? Here’s another reason this all bugged me to boot… my stylist was fresh out of cosmetology school. I pay about the same amount to my regular hair stylist for her to cut, dry & style my hair, in a boutique salon, where she has years and years of experience. In fact, I went to another blow dry bar in Manhattan not too long ago where the pricing is the same, also with an experienced stylist. Now, you can’t tell me that real estate prices in Tribeca are similar to Kenwood. So what’s the deal? Blown is fine for a bit of pampering if you’re willing to overpay for the service. I think I’ll stick with my regular stylist for future blowouts.

I love trying new beauty treatments, and when I read about Blown, I had to book an appointment! They offer many unique services, but I thought I would start with the blowout. When I arrived, the girls at the front desk said my style looked great, and instead of a full blow-out, recommended a minor tweak to the back(where I have this crazy cowlick). WOW, not only did they make me feel great about my «do», they were really personable, welcoming and professional. They called the manager to the front to confirm the change in service and price… he was also amazing. Amanda styled the area on the back of my head while giving me some expert tips for getting a little height without helmet head. She was great(BTW, the«cool» button on your hair dryer was placed there to be used to cool the hair and«set» the style… I’ve got to start reading the little flyers that come with appliances). I joke a lot in my reviews about my love of all things cole slaw and cupcakes, but the real truth is that I am a business voyeur… I love when the people I encounter«get» the fact that there are tons of choices for every product/service, and inevitably the businesses that prosper are the ones that understand the word«experience». I will go back to Blown and will recommend it to all my friends.
