Calibrated Crossfit

Hands down one of the best crossfit gyms in the Cincinnati area. I’ve been a member of a few. The trainers are very knowledgeable, helpful and truly care about each member’s goals and overall safety when performing the movements. The community is excellent too. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. If you are thinking about trying crossfit or just looking for a new box to call home then I highly recommend checking out Calibrated!

Amazing gym, talented and involved trainers, and top notch peers make Calibrated Crossfit an exemplary crossfit gym. A wonderful friendly atmosphere where the trainers will actually spend time with you, working to perfect your form and offer advice for weight. If you are looking to improve your life and body and meet some truly genuine people, or if you are just starting and have no clue what an overhead squat is but want to push your body to do amazing things, this is where you can achieve that. I had never done any kind of strength training before, never even touched a bumper plate in my life. The trainers taught me what I needed to know, scaled what needed to be scaled in such a way I could build toward doing the real movements and even eventually do workouts Rx on a regular basis. If you want to feel empowered and lift heavy things, this gym and these trainers can certainly help you do that.

I love this gym. After trying 2 other Crossfit gyms and a personal trainer, I am so happy to have found Calibrated. The coaches are top notch, organized, helpful, fun and skilled. They will help you build your strength, knowledge and expertise. I enjoy every workout here and actually look forward to going to the gym (something that I never used to love before). I felt immediately welcomed into the community and everyone is very friendly. This is a place to go whether you are a beginner or an expert. Arjuna and the coaches will help you become better.

This is my Box. At times, I call it hell. Other times, I call it home.
Yes, it can be rough around the edges but Calibrated isn’t Lifetime Fitness. Frankly, you should quit any box that’s too shiny and clean. That means people don’t work hard enough.
Arjuna, Box owner, may yell at you. Other times, you wonder why you even crossfit because you fail at some of the exercised.
Yet you always come back. Here’s why:
1) The community. You’ll love it. I go to class in the morning… at 5:30 AM. Each time, I’m greeted with some of the best work out friends I’ve ever had (and groans after we realize what the work out of the day is)
2) the rigor. Crossfit will make you work. and if you want to work, you’ll love it.
3) members are treated with respect. Arjuna and Brittany know the box is only as good as the people that work out there. It shows.
4) For me, it’s super close. 7 minutes from Columbia Tusculum.
You’ll think it’s scary and crossfit may not be right for you. The first 2 weeks, it will feel that way. But give it a shot and if you like feeling fit with a supportive community around you, Calibrated will make you a believer.

I have always been into the idea of cross fit as I love an intense workout that helps me to mix up my routine (I spend the majority of my fitness hours running or spinning). I especially like anything that makes strength training a little less mundane for me. I’ve done cross fit before and really enjoyed the challenge of it so when I discovered you could try a class for free at Calibrated Cross Fit I knew I had to check it out.
I tried the cross fit light which was a great way to get re introduced to the sport. It was a great, lighter version of what I remember cross fit to be. I definitely felt the workout in my hamstrings the next day… I needed that!
All the other members of this cross fit box were very friendly and welcoming. My main hesitation in rating higher than 3 stars is the customer service I received the day of my work out. I would have appreciated a little more explanation about the gym and perhaps a trainer who actually acknowledged the fact I was new. Nobody who worked there seemed invested in ensuring I’d want to come back and work out there again. To me that is a turn off as I have become accustomed to a more personally engaging workout environment.
I will point out that the owner of the box did reach out to me via email to check in and ask how it went, however I wish that same care and concern was expressed the day I came to workout. Classes are not cheap and I was really hoping I’d be convinced they would be worth the financial investment.

Joining this gym is one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health and well-​being. The gym is highly tailored to achieving our goals; for some, that is weight loss and others muscle gain (I fall into the latter category and have already seen results). The staff is extremely knowledgeable and there is no shortage of one-​on-​one time where they will help your form or just cheer you on. The other athletes are equally friendly and create a welcome environment. I would highly recommend this gym to everyone!

Arjuna is a top-​notch trainer and he runs a great gym. He has a ton of expertise within CrossFit, Olympic Lifting, working with athletes, and training for specific events or for specific goals. I highly recommend!
