I’ve been traveling to Blue Ash on business for the past five years and tried many of the hotels in the area. I try to stay loyal to M as I collect the points. But in this area the Embassy Suites with the Cascades restaurant cannot be beaten. With our agreed upon corp rate, ‘to order breakfast’ and ‘happy hour’ this is the only place I’ll stay. The rooms are big enough you can work in and you have spaces to work in the atrium. Beds can be dated but they have been turning the mattress inventory so less and less complaints there. Try it you will not be sorry.

Not a bad place, waiter was pretty attentive, food was okay, prices were a little high. Just your average run of the mill hotel restaurant. Ate breakfast there twice and dinner once, nothing I was overly impressed by.

One snowy night I didn’t want to venture out, so I decided to have dinner at Cascades. I ordered the bleu cheese filet w/potatoes & veggies. It was surprisingly very good. Kind of pricey at $ 28ish, but it saved me going out. Starter salad was just average, but good, thick honey mustard dressing.

The hotel restaurant at Embassy Suites serves a pretty good breakfast. They have a hot food area with eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes along with an omelet station made to order. You can also get fruit, yogurt, cereal, bread, bagels, donuts, and drinks. The restaurant also serves dinner but not as many people eat there as compared to breakfast.

I personally believe that we under estimate some of the best dining experiences going because they are in local hotels. Cascades is one such dining experience. The hotel has an extremely relaxing undulating Koi filled stream running through it that nestles up against the Cascade dining area. The sections are broken up loosely and conference and lobby areas are blurred. The servers were excellent and well spoken. Their menu was adequate and had the standard staples for the less adventurous in the group. The shining stars are the culinary dreams that the chef cooks up for special occasions. I will say my meal fell a bit flat, but it was an interesting idea, texture and step away from traditional presentation. I will always step into the new and unexplored before resting on the standards. Sometimes it pays off, some times it doesn’t. But at least there was a new experience enjoyed.
