A compact vintage shop with skirts, dresses, shirts, accessories, nightwear, hats and such. Didn’t find anything here, as I’m more high glam, 30s to 50s style. Seemed like there was more 60s-​80s type stuff here.

Love this place! Since I left Brooklyn, I’ve been having some pretty serious vintage store withdrawal, but Chicken Lays an Egg fits the bill! I stopped in a month or two ago when I was in the area with some time to kill. The store is so cool! There was a great mix of modern/​vintage, recycled/​original, clothes/​goods, and a wide price range. I could see myself shopping here for either everyday clothes or costume pieces. The gal at the counter when I was there was really friendly, but not pushy or up in my business while I was shopping — and you’ll want to be left alone while you browse — it’s amazing how much stuff they cram into that place!
Long story short, if you’re into the Nouveau Hipster, modern vintage thing, or just dig upcycled 70s and 80s threads, check this place out!
