I have lived down the street from this place for years. Long before it was CS&L, it was a soul food place that I never got the chance to try. Anyway, I have been wanting to try out Cincy Steak & Lemonade just for the lemonade! I’m a big fan, and figured if they had it right in the name of the joint, it had to be good! So my husband and I finally pull in on a hot summer day to try the fare. There is VERY limited seating inside(literally maybe 4 tables/booths) and truthfully, you wouldn’t want to sit in there and eat because during the summer its damn HOT! I don’t know how those people can stand it back there by the grill! Anyhoo — I ordered the philly cheesesteak(of course!) and a piña colada lemonade slushie. I also opted for the fried mozzarella sticks, at the suggestion of one of the previous Unilocalers. The cheesesteak comes with onions, mushrooms, mayo, cheese, green peppers, lettuce and tomato. I opted for everything but peppers and it was DELISH! I could have done without the lettuce and tomato, just because its an odd sensation on a hot sandwich — but other than that, delightful! The cheesesticks were delicious too, served with marinara. The lemonade was the bomb! I think the lemon flavor pretty much overpowers any flavoring they add, but it was still good. As I said, I had piña colada and could really only taste lemon. My husband had watermelon and to me, it just tasted like lemonade. You get a lot of food for the price, and its damn good — so I would definitely recommend this place.

So after a long hard day of yard work, Beth and I were in the mood for a treat. To Beth dairy whip is her place, mine is sonic. Well Dairy whip isn’t open and Sonic is a drive so what were we to do? Cincy Steak and Lemonade answered that call! Its over by Cincinnati Gardens, in a lot by itself painted brightly yellow and blue. If you miss this place, your blind… just sayin. We went in for frozen lemonade’s, I had watermelon, Beth got green apple. Wow they were amazing, and just $ 2.49 what a deal. They have a variety of flavors to choose from, Rainbow is the most popular with the kids from what we saw. They do serve food, and its super cheap, We had 9 cheese sticks with marinara and it was just $ 5. The cheese sticks were cooked to perfection. The menu had everything from cheese steaks to hamburgers to gyros even fried perch. FRIEDPERCH!!! the southern boy in me got perked up. But being almost dinner time and i had to grill out for her family i decided to wait on the fish. That deserves some award I’m sure, Boyfriend of the year i bet :)

Good food in the hood! Frozen lemonades, gyros, chicago dogs, burgers, wings, and fish at reasonable prices. you’re going to get more food, and better food than the mcdonald’s down the street. If you’re looking for a quick meal and you’re by cincinnati gardens, definately a place to check out, no décor to speak of, but just good, solid fast food. get in, get out, get stuffed. cheap. WIN.
