The Y is cool. We come here with a few guest passes and swim in the indoor and outdoor pools. Correction, I do not swim because pools are dirty to me but you get the point. As a guest you also have access to the gym weight lifting area which is pretty decent. Pool times can be slightly off depending on if there are classes or camps going on. So be sure to check the schedule before you head over. Overall, relatively clean and friendly.

There is a lot of upside to this YMCA — Many pools, cardio, weights, child sitting and the programs are varied, well scheduled and fun. Not a bad deal overall, but they could stand some attention to detail. There is a lot of activity here so I can see where things slip, and that is why it gets a four. Still, can’t beat the family atmosphere.

The workout room at this Y always has the cast of the Jersey Shore on the free weights in the after-work hours. When you have to walk past them to get to a machine, they stare you down. So unless you want a Golds’ Gym ambiance, find another Y.

This YMCA is newer and brighter than the more humble Gamble-Nippert in my neighborhood, but I really only come here for the Zumba class with Trina. It’s great! High energy, sweat inducing, good tune pumping great! The pool looks nice as well, but I’ve never been. The exercise room has newer and more diverse equipment, but I really only head up there for the Zumba class, it rarely disappoints.
