Merchandise is overpriced. However most important is customer service. I visited the store, and there were 2 – 3 women working, not one of them acknowledged me or even bothered to say hello.

I went to this store on a recommendation from a friend to try to sell a boatload of scarves I had. I also took a tote bin full of tights and pantyhose, since I haven’t worn the type of outfits that those accessories would go with(suits) for years. While waiting to see if they would buy stuff, I walked around and looked at what they sell. First, used things, especially clothes and shoes really gross me out, so I’m not the store’s ideal customer. If something had original tags attached to it, okay. While looking at the things they sold, I was surprised at how much they were charging for things, especially shoes and boots that were obviously worn. Even if this were the type of place I would shop, I wouldn’t buy anything at the prices they charge for things that have been worn by other people. Ugh! Also, I had to wait in the store almost half an hour just to find out that they wouldn’t take my scarves, because those kind(silk) don’t sell well at their store. And, they don’t take pantyhose or tights(they were all in packaging and never worn). So, their loss ended up being my friend’s and Goodwill’s gain as I gave the scarves to a friend and all the pantyhose and tights to Goodwill. This is one shop I will definitely never return to.

I LOVELOVELOVE this store. We don’t have this chain of stores in Dayton, so when I found out about them I decided to check out as many as I could. I’ve been to 3 different Clothes Mentors and 3 Snooty Fox stores in Cincinnati and this store is by far my favorite! It is clean, the selection is great and the girls that work there are exceptional. They are friendly and accommodating. Because I tried in so many things, and didn’t want to haul them through the store, they put my name in the dressing room door and when I went in it with my second batch, she called my name out to make sure it was me and not someone else going through my «you’re going home with me pile». I drive 50 minutes to get there because it’s worth it! The last time my friend and I were there, the girl behind the register over heard us talking about lunch and asked us what kind of food we liked and recommended this cute little tavern that was one of her favorites, it was the perfect afternoon. I left with pants I paid $ 12 each for, some still had tags on them. I paid $ 8 each for sweaters and shirts that were like brand new. I was just sorry I didn’t have time to try on shoes. I LOVE this store

UPDATE«I can say is: I’m OBSESSED with this place!!! The clothes are amazing and the ladies working there are super-sweet. I don’t buy clothes or accessories at the mall anymore. The clothes look NEW!!! And, better yet, for a fraction of the price. Love it, love it! Hopefully they keep the reasonable prices.» I TAKEWHAT I SAIDABOVEBACK: The new management is horrendous, bad customer service and prices have gone up considerably! I liked the former team better.

This is a great shop. It’s like the grown up version of Plato’s Closet. There are loads of clothes in every size and they have a large sale section. The prices here are very reasonable and they even pay to purchase your gently used clothing from you.

One of my favorite places for clothes, way more selection of clothes than any place else. I love the 50% off deals and sales they run like girl’s night out where you can get 20% off a purchase. Staff are friendly and always help with finding a dressing room. The store appears clean and the clothes do as well. I love the way everything is organised in this store. Great place for some nice clothes, shoes, and jewelry without having to spend a fortune.

Not impressed at all. The staff did not know how to price brands correctly and they only pay 1⁄3 of what they sell it for. What a rip. Their staff is not trained on how to tell a fake from a genuine. The staff also helps other customers while they are supposed to be helping you. Took WAY too long for my simple transaction. They have yoga capris that I paid 9.99 for at Marshalls on their rack for 12.00. Not worth the time and effort. FYI this was the Beechmont locatiion

Based on the Unilocal reviews I checked this place out. Saw lots of lovely clothes that were the same brands, styles, and size that I typically buy. I bought a couple tops-nothing special but good price. Went home and did a little closet editing over the next few weeks. Once I had a dozen items to sell, I returned to the store. And left with $ 6 for 2 tops. Not worth the effort. Took the remainder of my items to a Dress for Success type group. At least someone there will get good use-and maybe a job out of them.

I LOVE a good resale shop, and the Clothes Mentor is a new favorite! I received a warm, genuine greeting when I walked in and was astounded by the huge selection of clothing and accessories. I swear, you need a couple of hours to see everything! No funky thrift store odor here, just clean, ready to wear items organized in an orderly fashion. No more of that«Snooty» place for me… I’ll go where the selection is great and the employees are friendly. That goes a long way with me.

I’ve never had the patience for thrift stores, and Clothes Mentor saves me so much time, offering scads of designer and store-brand gently used, up-to-date clothing without the funky smell and flashback experiences other secondhand stores typically provide. I’ve been to Clothes Mentor several times, both to buy and sell(unfortunately more on the buying end than the selling end), and I have been thrilled every time. The store is organized by clothing type, then size, and within each size, they sort by color grouping. So if you need an orange top, it’s a cinch to find the article in your size in the right section. In addition to every item of clothing imaginable, they also carry shoes, accessories, bags and wallets, sunglasses, and(this weirds me out a little) even used bottles of lotion and perfume. Prices are excellent. I just saw a Kate Spade handbag for under $ 40 and snagged a White House Black Market fully lined satin cocktail dress for $ 25.00 and a brand new(tag still attached) Banana Republic pencil skirt for $ 16.00. I sold two laundry basket items full of clothing as well. They try to only buy items that are in style within the last two years, and they go over everything very carefully. If there are items they won’t take, they offer to donate them to Matthew 25 Ministry for you, which I absolutely love. This is the perfect place when you don’t want to spend a ton of money and need someone else to pick over thrift store items for you. You will always walk out with some great items!

AHH I love this place so much. Over the years Plato’s closet was taking less and less of the clothes I was bringing in to sell, and I wanted cash on the spot so didn’t want to go to Snooty Fox. Luckily I heard about Clothes Mentor right before it opened up its Fields Ertel location. It is GREAT. If you are selling your clothes, they pay really well for your items, and if they don’t want the left overs and you don’t either– they’ll donate them for you(just remember to ask for the tax form!). If you are shopping there, you have a GREAT selection of gently used items, mostly brand name, and a few high end items(LV bags, Jimmy Choo shoes, etc behind the counter). Lots of J. Crew, LOFT, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic etc, great stuff at 1⁄3 of the price(sometimes even less) than you’d pay in the retail store. Everyone is super friendly and happy to help– so glad this place opened up near me!
