Cute little shop with a community feel. It brings you back to the 60’s where time was simple and little kids hang around the ice cream shop. I got the Orange glacier… which was real good. It’s crushed ice with orange syrup & vanilla custard on top. Tips: Cash only Plenty of parking Plenty of seats & benches in the back

Not bad, but I’m jaded because I have another favorite spot. However, this place is a tad sentimental for me because my father took me here when I was little. Clean, nice benches to sit and eat, parking lot.

Very cute, old-school creamy whip. It is a little road-side stand with some benches to eat at, and you’ll be joined by lots of kids, of course. I don’t know how they make their creamy whip so perfectly shaped and smooth, but it’s awesome! The husband really enjoyed his glacier(revival of a grade-school summer favorite: creamy whip on a slushie), I had an ice cream sandwich, and they had a nice array of options from sundaes, soft-serve, to floats. As others have said– cash only!

How had I never heard of this place?! I spend a fair amount of time of my life in Oakley, and — as I was craving a good creamy whip cone — felt it necessary to locate the nearest stand where I could satiate my need. It was because Cindy, our very own Community Manager, had visited earlier in the day, that I learned about Dairy Corner and that is was probably the closest creamy whip to where I was. My theory about ice cream is this: if you can’t master the basics, what are you good for, really? It is that reason why I always order a small zebra cone with chocolate sprinkles. Dairy Corner did it really well, too. I will certainly be back.

Dairy Corner is locally owned and operated and one thing most people don’t know is that this is the first creamy whip to open in Ohio! They started serving in 1955 and have been going strong ever since. With pretty much anything and everything to satisfy any sweet tooth some of their offerings include: home made ice cream sammies, glaciers, dip tops, crunch cones, sundaes and more! The favorite seems to be the glaciers everyone in our line ordered one so we followed suite. And if you don’t know, a glacier is a flavored crushed ice drink with soft serve in the middle. Kinda weird, but turns out its a great fix if you are hungry and thirsty hahah! The flavor of the ice cream at this creamy whip is the most real and homemade I have tasted in the area. It tastes very rich and has a caramel color just like my mom used to make when I was little. I opted for a cherry dip top and I have to say, it was my least favorite dip top I have every had simply because the bubble of ice cream is made in the shape of a ball. See photo. Kinda weird and super hard to eat. I ended up throwing it away. Not sure if this is a tradition to make it in this shape, or just something the 100 year old lady serving us was doing. Either way, this place is a must for locals, and anyone who is obsessed with hunting down historic creamy whips!

Dairy Corner is as rich in nostalgia as it is in creamy whip. Maybe I’m bias because I have many fond memories of hangin’ out at the DC after youth softball games and nights in high school after I got my driver’s license. But the place has been open every summer since the fifties, so you know it’s gotta be good. This small place is hard to miss, lit bright with neon lights on the corner and a line that wraps down the street. The windows are chalk full of different creations you can make with your chocolate, vanilla, or swirl soft serve. They are the masters of covering those suckers in shell or sprinkles and their sundaes are hard to beat. The line moves fast, due to the nature of what they’re servin’ up, but make sure you’ve got some bug spray on depending on the time of night. There are lots of bugs that are attracted to the light and there are trees everywhere, so I’m always prone to bites. Whenever I’m near in the summer, I always make sure to pay this hometown staple a visit!

Over priced compared to the others nearby. No longer a special spot like when I was a kid.

The oldest creamy whip in Ohio, Dairy Corner was started in 1955 right along the main drag of Newtown. The windows of the entire buildings are covered in colorful, hand-written signs of everything they serve. It can be a bit of an intimidating jumble if you’re looking for something special, but I guarantee, you will see a treat that jumps out at you. Dairy Corner is known for their dip tops: soft serve ice cream dipped in a hard-coated shell or sprinkled with topping. They have five different kids of shell coatings: strawberry, cherry, blue raspberry, chocolate and butterscotch. Plus, you can put any of their dozen soft serve flavors underneath. I went for vanilla soft serve with the butterscotch shell, which was delicious. The shell was more of a soft coating than hard, which made it easier to eat. I also like the banana soft serve with chocolate shell. Yum! Ice balls with soft serve are a hit as well, if you’re in the mood for a sno-cone with ice cream. Root beer and vanilla are always delicious flavors. Plenty of benches outside under giant, shady trees, and a generous parking lot. As it’s stood through the years, Dairy Corner still maintains its old school charm. A young boy, maybe age 14, was taking orders at the front window while his mother made the treats in the back. That alone makes Dairy Corner’s ice cream the sweetest. Price per person: $ 3.00 CASHONLY!

Oh my, the dairy corner. This really is a newtown institution, and if you are an eastsider(and I mean a legit eastsider, Hyde Park and over) and you haven’t been here… well, you may want to run. Far far way. Because you will get your eastside badge and your masculinity stripped from you. However, as much as I want to say this place is pretty f***ing amazing, it’s really not. They’ve got decent ice cream, a nice little seating area in the back… and that’s it. Nothing’s fantastic or OHMYGODSOGOOD. When I say it’s an institution, i mean that if you live in the area that’s what you grew up with. I still go there occasionally, but it’s awfully difficult considering I only carry a debit and credit card and they are cash only. All in all, if you’re in the area and want some ice cream(and you have some cash), you should stop by. Personally, I’ll stick to getting my mocha milkshakes from UDF.

The Dairy Corner was our second favorite stop on our Cincinnati-area creamy whip tour this summer. The highlights? Location. It’s a cute little roadside shop with adequate parking and shade trees near the Little Miami River in Newtown. This is the way to go on a warm, breezy Saturday afternoon. The ice cream. It’s huge portions for a really reasonable price. The soft serve is classic– milky and smooth. They have a good selection, too. The sundaes are some of the best I’ve ever had. Service. The staff is young, but friendly. And because this is a bit of a hidden gem, there isn’t much of a wait. The drawbacks? Not many. It definitely deserves it’s 5 stars. Like a lot of places, it is cash only, so come prepared! The UDF across the street has an ATM, just in case. In the end, Newtown Dairy Corner is much closer for us compared to our absolute favorite, Flub’s. It’s also close to some great parks, so it’s easy to take a relaxing drive east and make it a part of a whole day adventure. This is quickly becoming our go-to ice cream place!

I went to this place as a kid a lot and had not been. I decided to take my husband, who wanted a dessert, as this managed to pop into my head. It’s a cute place. It’s local, they only take cash, and their signs are faded and kind of hilariously old. It’s a cute little place. Basically, a high schooler takes your order, and gives you some good old fashioned ice cream. It’s good stuff. Great for kids. Nothing fancy. They have a dog sundae too!

Prices are reasonable, but they only take cash… a physical item that not many people use anymore. Know this before you order… I happened to miss it amid the all of the ice cream specials that clutter the window. The selection is good and the service and ice cream are great. They even offer a doggie sundae with a dog biscuit for all the dog lovers that just left Wags Park down the road. This is a great place to stop with a wet, exhausted dog.

If you’ve never been, do yourself a flavor and go, especially if it’s summer and you’re in the area… It’s a gem in the Newtown crown for sure… They’ve been around forever… Absolutely part of a village that raised this child… A regular stop after Soccer matches, Baseball Games, on the way home from visiting Mariemont, Eastgate, really any excuse to drive thru Newtown… I spent a summer working at Aicholtz Farm on Roundbottom Rd and The Dairy Corner was a regular after work oasis… I was 14, whatdaya expect. Their goodies are so worth the trek… Believe me… Just sayin’…

The Newtown Dairy Corner is a classic of growing up in Cincinnati. Well… maybe for the eastsiders. Located in the cute town of Newtown just off the Little Miami River, its a must-do if you are on your way to go canoing or just want some good soft serve! The Dairy Corner serves all sorts of flavors of soft serve ice cream. You can get it in a cone or a cup or covered with butterscotch or that hardening chocolate stuff. Don’t forget the sprinkles! They also have various novelty popsicles shaped like today’s favorite cartoon characters or the long fruity ones that change flavors as you eat them! It really is the epitome of a summer childhood memory for myself as well as many others. The dairy corner has benches in the back for enjoying the summer weather with your ice cream but beware of the bees that like to hang out back there!
