Deeper Roots is a coffee roaster you can really be proud to support. I mean it — Les Stoneham is not only amazing with coffee, but he and his excellent staff scout out the best coffee farms and work to ensure the farmers are being treated well via direct/fair trade practices. Once the beans are in their office, master roaster Adam Shaw works his magic to make the coffee taste better than any other you’ll ever taste. I recently got to go to a cupping/tour of the roasterie which is in a formerly abandoned dairy farm in Mt. Healthy. They are still working on getting the café part ready to be open but the roasterie half is totally done and they do cuppings every Tuesday evening. They are great with explaining the process that goes into producing each cup and also helping you build your palate and to get a… deeper… understanding of coffee. Their beans are carried in some local stores and also at some cafes — like Collective Espresso(which is also super amazing and you need to go there if you haven’t. It will make your life better — I promise.)
