I’m from out of town and a first time patron of Dewey’s. After reading all the glowing reviews I’m still wondering if I just got a hastily prepared pie on a busy night. Our pizza’s crust was limp and undercooked. The green peppers and onions on my Bronx Bomber were barely warm and crisp. In fact the pizza came out lukewarm, I kinda like my pizza so hot I need to be concerned abut hot sauce and cheese burning my mouth. It’s easy to let your pizza cool off but really difficult to heat it up. I was wishing so much for something better. The house salad was ok, just ok, not something to want to come time and again for. A little light on the cheese and dried fruit. On the positive side the atmosphere was lively and hopping. The tables were active and noisy with several young families with kids and couples hanging around the bar. Everyone was having fun and you could tell they were enjoying themselves. The staff was young, friendly, and helpful. I just wish the pizza could have been better, what a bummer, maybe next time.

Dewey’s pizza is amongst the very best in the city. They made pizza fancy before there was A Tovola or Fireside. For this trip we did a takeaway option, which was a pretty good choice as there is always a good wait on the weekends. If you haven’t had Dewey’s, the sauce is kinda garlicky(that’s a good thing) and the crust is buttery and the perfect mixture of flakey and chewy(how is that possible!!!). If you don’t like pizza, you are probably an idiot. Since you aren’t an idiot, Dewey’s is worth a try!

Harvest salad. Honestly. This is what made it a 3 star to a 4 star for me. Their harvest salad is utterly delicious to the point that I don’t order pizza anymore when I go to Dewey’s. The sun flowers, the salad dressing, utterly delicious. The chicken was a little dry for my taste but was masked by everything else in the salad. The Ryan’s Inferno pizza and the Green Lantern pizza was yummy but not insanely good like the salad. It’s not the best pizza place in the world but it’ll do. Will be back for the Harvest salad and girl’s night!

I am a regular at Oakley Deweys and love it so much that I would be devastated if I moved away and didn’t have any Deweys near me. The food is so consistent, always fresh and so delicious. The menu is simple with the addition of a seasonal pizza, salad and wine. Service is extremely fast and the atmosphere is clean, not cluttered with dusty knick-knacks. Definitely order: +peppercorn ranch salad(homemade ranch-SO GOOD) +candied walnut and grape salad(can sub out gorgonzola for feta or chevre) +green lantern, poe, caprice, meatball… and pretty much any others(the nice thing is that you can split the pizza in half and try two kinds) +definitely get dessert! The Opera Cream Torte is delish from Bön Bonerie and perfect to split with two people. I really appreciate their devotion to community and staying local. They are huge supporters of local non-profits and contribute to Artswave annually during pledge time. I love their philosophy as a business and will continue to support them as my favorite local pizza eatery!

I always go here to pick up carry-out for my boyfriend and his friends on game days. It is almost always packed when I go but there is always at least one spot open at the bar. The bartender(I can’t recall her name) that is there every time is awesome. She’s fast and takes care of carry-out orders, drinks, seating and anything else you can think of. The beer selection is local and also great. She will even keep my food warm for me in the kitchen if I want to stay for an extra beer or two. It’s not a huge place, but the fact that they seem to be able to accommodate everyone regardless is very impressive. I’m never disappointed by the service and food here and I will most definitely be back more and more as the football season kicks off.

Dewey’s has some unique and scrumptious pizzas! Their crust is thin and airy. The toppings– you can choose your own or they have these awesome combinations. I would recommend getting one of their specialty pizzas that are listed. I usually get sausage or margherita pizza. I tried the create your own with red sauce, mozzarella, and sausage. I will say that was the only part I did not like– the sausage. It was not in ground sausage style but more like slices. It also was oily and a bit chewy. I am hoping it was just that one instance. Either way, when I go back I will just get one of their specialty pizzas because those are good! My friends brought me here because they had the taco pizza. This was quite the creation– fritos, meat, lettuce, tomatoes. It tasted like a taco, but on a pizza. It was a bit rich for me, but I loved the creativity and the delivery was spot on! I just like a more traditional pizza. I think my friends mentioned that they change which specialty pizzas they have monthly or something like that. I think it’s great that they mix up the menu. It is busy but they do have a free parking lot. They are adequately staffed and I must give a shout out to the staff because they’re all so friendly! The waiters all help each other out so you never have to wait for your particular waiter if you need something. I will definitely go back and I am sure I will find a pizza that I will love.

A solid place for pizza and salad. This was my first meal in Cincy after a delayed AM flight that landed(and moved) me here. It hit the spot of being healthy enough that you don’t feel blah and greasy enough to keep you going after a night of being sent off and packing and not sleeping. I recommend getting a salad and splitting a small or medium pie with a friend to achieve the same effect. I got the House salad and split half a Bronx bomber with a friend. The house salad was refreshing, balanced and light, with a little bit of richness from the goat cheese, a little bit of sweet from the dried cranberry, and a little bit of crunch from the pine nuts. I would definitely get this again. The Bronx bomber is a good standard from supreme lovers(I just want all the toppings when it comes to pizza. oh wait make that anything and everything.) I live in walking distance, and I’m definitely glad that I have a such a tasty place so close to me!

I live right next door and have dined at Dewey’s numerous times. I’ll make this review short and sweet. I’ve never had a bad meal there… ever! The house salad is easily my favorite and all of their pizzas are unique and delicious. I will definitely continue to dine there! Keep up the good work.

What’s to say: great pizza and great for a family. My 2 year old loves watching them Toss the dough and they always interact with him. Family win.

The last time that I went to deweys, it was about a year and a half ago and they had the Rocky Balboa pizza… which was awesome! It was basically a cheese steak pizza. Unfortunately, it was only seasonal. I had not been back to do with it since they did not have that pizza but recently I decided to venture in. And I’m glad I did, I actually decided to try something different and go with a calzone I had a pesto chicken calzone with mozzarella. it was a fanciful Trek through a culinary delight. Lol ok ok Food Network lingo aside it was pretty good :-) my friend had a salad, which was pretty big and the others shared some pizzas that were halved. The prices are middle of the road. I look forward to seeing what they will have next season.

I would give 5 stars if it weren’t for the fact that there’s a better place in Cincy to go. First off the customer service here is better than any pizza place I’ve ever been to. From the phone order I did to make my carry out order, to the nice lady cleaning the glass on the entrance door that held it open for me to let me in, to the 3 people that greeted me as I looked for the bar to pick up my order, to the nice manager lady that took my payment and offered me a drink. The food was done fast. I ordered a large ½ Dr. See and ½ Cuban pizza.(They will half and half anything you want which is cool). The pricing was great for a large mixed specialty pizza. $ 21 and some change. The crust is light and New York style thin. The toppings are okay. There’s not a lot of cheese on the pizzas(even though one pizza I ordered had two types of cheese). Still is a very tasty and easy to eat pizza. If you live in the Norwood/Hyde Park area, I would say it’s a touch better than Mellow Mushroom and better than anything in that area. Adriaticos still has my heart… and stomach. But this is a close second. *******note******* the Cuban is a seasonal that has pickles on it. Delicious.

I haven’t met a pizza I haven’t liked and Dewey’s always delivers the yumms. Being originally from Cincinnati, I have a love affair with local small businesses that turns into over all successes. Way to go Dews! Dewey’s pizza is different from those use to Donato’s and Larosa’s. Their crust is thinner, crispier and lighter. The toppings are always fresh and cooked to perfection. I love the creativity of the pizzas and the fact that they have rotating seasonal selections. I personally have enjoyed every pizza I’ve gotten, partial to the olive oil based ones that load on the veggies and cheeses. There a couple of them and each is delish: Wild Mushroom, Socrates’ Revenge, Edgar Allan Poe etc… YUM! The salads are also incredible, my personal favorite being the House Salad, the name is basic but the taste is incredible. I’d recommend splitting a regular size with the table. The service is always great and they’ll never let your glass go below half full which is appreciative. I use to order Dewey’s routinely for my sororities dinner meetings and they’ve always been very accommodating and reliable, especially when you’re trying to feed over 100 people at a time. Can’t thank them enough for some how managing to stuff over 15 pizzas in the back of my Jeep Wrangler, props to the great staff.

Dewey’s has hands down the BESTPIZZA in Cincinnati! There. I said it, and I stand by it. I feel like that’s all you really need to know about Dewey’s. First off, the Oakley location is awesome. They have nice friendly people that work here. I like to sit at the bar so I can get immediate attention if my beer starts to run low, if you know what I’m sayin. They have a lot of great beers on tap, including several local beers(Rhinegeist, Madtree, etc.). My fiancé and I like different things, so we like to split the pizza. You can get two specialty pizzas(even with different sauces) on one pie for no additional charge, which is great if you have picky eaters in your group! We got the special of the week which was a taco pizza, and the Ryan’s Inferno. My fiancé and I LOVE anything that has buffalo sauce and blue cheese on it, and the Ryan’s Inferno was just everything I could ever want in a pizza. Thank you, Dewey’s, for combining chicken wings and pizza into one glorious perfect combination! Did I mention the crust? So, I’m the kind of person that normally eats the toppings and leaves the crust at the end… But not here! Their pizza dough is the bomb dot com! Basically everything about their food is just done right. I wish they had delivery, but they don’t so the only wait to get their pizza is to get it to go. When I was there there were several people getting pizzas to go, so I would recommend you call ahead. Overall, this place is awesome and definitely my favorite pizza in the area!

PARENTS: YOURKIDSARERUININGITFORTHERESTOFUS. The last few times l have been here the place is packed with kids not being monitored by parents. This is not Chuck Es. Tonight was last straw. Huge birthday party of 8 yo’s running around the restaurant. I mean seriously. Places have private rooms. Don’t know if it is the neighborhood? But my last visit at this Deweys.

Dewey’s pizza! It’s not like other pizzas out there. The crust is thin, both crunchy and chewy and fresh made. My favorite is the Dr. Dre-white sauce, chicken, peppers and bacon with ranch. You can get half and half, which we always do to try something new but also get our fix of the Dr. Dre. You can even get half and half with 2 different sauces. They have good IPAs on tap right now, which I love. Been there many times and it’s never let me down!

I absolutely love Dewey’s pizza! It’s a friendly atmosphere which is key for me! I’m all for traditional pizza sauce but if you have never tried the white Alfredo style sauce you will be in for a treat! The salads are delicious and the fresh dough-made calzones will keep you coming back for more! Don’t hesitate to enjoy a glass of wine with your meal if you’re of the age of course! They serve beer and wine for you to enjoy as well. Great for lunch mid-day meals and dinner! Bring your friends and family for a great treat!

This is the best pizza in Cincinnati. I love the Hawaiian pizza in a calzone, the Edgar Allen Poe pizza, the grape walnut salad, and the plain mozzarella-fontina blend pizza w/red sauce on the side. The Amish chicken is quiet fresh and lovely, too. Didn’t love the meatballs here, though. I was expecting some homemade meatballs and I got this gnarly meatball that you know came from a processed food factory. Other than that strange blip, most things Dewey’s Pizza have been legit from Day 1.

Dewey’s Pizza is my first authentic Cincinnati experience! We arrived close to 8pm on a Thursday night and was told the wait would be around 10 minutes for a table for two. Busy, popping pizza restaurant on a weeknight? Seems legit. What makes Dewey’s even more legit is that while we waited for our table, we were able to watch men kneading dough by hand to prepare the pizzas. Good impressions! We seated before our ten minutes and was immediately greeted by a cheery young server who enthusiastically explained their menu selections. She came back in seconds with our drinks and left for another few minutes to give us time to decide on our order. Herein lies the breakdown. This server did not come back, and it took an oddly long amount of time for another server to stop by and finally take our order. As I watched the other tables, I realized there must be pooled tips and shared responsibilities among the service staff. This isn’t a big deal when everyone works their fair share and there is an organized system. In our case, we did experience a service breakdown. On to the food! We started off with a couple of salads. I had the peppercorn ranch salad, which was fresh, sweet, and delicious. We split a medium-sized pizza with two choices: meatball and barbecue chicken. I’m going to give this place props for their authentic doughy crust, which was very delicious, but I think the toppings could have been more exaggerated and robust. After reading the menu descriptions, I feel like I received a standard pizza and not anything that wowed me, which is a shame considering the time, care, and quality invested in the dough preparation. I would come back, definitely order a salad, and hope that the toppings are more generous the second time around.

I just wanted to shoot this place a little love note and say I stopped in a few days ago for a carry out peppercorn ranch salad and they had it ready in three minutes! I was prepared to wait and the manager ran it out with a friendly smile, rang me up and I was out the door. I have never had bad service at Dewey’s and their peppercorn ranch salad is the bee’s knees! Seriously, one of the best salads in the city for sure!
