Dirty Jack’s is a small bar and club tucked away in Carthage that would be easy to miss if you weren’t looking for it. Often offering live music in their spacious back room, Dirty Jack’s is a decent place to go for live music, though sometimes the sound can be a little muffled.
The bar has a decent offering, but any night other than a Friday or Saturday will find Dirty Jack’s hardly filled. If you have no other options and there is a band you really insist on seeing at Dirty Jack’s, it’s an okay place to go.

Located on an isolated section of Vine St. in Elmwod Place, Dirty Jack’s is a music venue for die hard fans. The bar in unattractive, there isn’t a lot else going on in the area and the sound could use some fine tuning but the back room is fantastic if you own a glowing hackie sack or want to make out in the dark. Jem, the bartender that is working on most nights I’ve been to shows is an old friend and music promoter who is not only hysterical but is even more ADD than I am. If you really want to go, stop by the MySpace page and find a band that you like.
