Downtown Cincinnati

I liked it. Growing up on the west coast, I’d see the Dodgers fly into Cincinnati for a road game and I’d think, «Where the hell is Cincinnati?»
Downtown Cin is great. And, overall, the city is really attractive and progressive in ways that I wouldn’t have predicted. The two sports stadiums (MLB, NFL) are side by side on the river, which is cool. There is some gentrification with some downtown shops and then, of course, there is poverty, too.
And then every downtown block or so you’d see a confident white guy with a GUN IN HOLSTER out in the open on the belt… Some dude from the Wild Wild West strutting down the street with his gun there on the hip. That, all the old brick buildings, and the feeling of cultural mishmash gives Cin a kind of edginess that I don’t feel in Indy.
Oh, and they have cool gift shops and restaurants as well. Don’t forget to buy a Cincinatti shirt to remind your Midwest friends who have never been there how untraveled they are.

I have lived and worked in downtown Cincinnati for one year and really enjoy it. The weather could be a little better but the people are welcoming, the streets feel safe at night, and there are a lot of good food selections. There is a large event almost every weekend so there’s a lot of hustle and bustle.

A great collection of architecture, culture, arts and food. Affordable and fun, what more could you ask for???
Home of a world class symphony orchestra, and enviable ballet and the best sheaperd’s pie south of Glasgow. Numerous small shops and boutiques as well as major stores abound in this dense and walkable part of the Queen City.

Downtown Cincinnati has come a long way; I am proud of the direction it is going and enjoy spending days after work and even weekends hanging near the square.
There are multiple places to eat with a variety of food types and they stay open longer hours than before.
Fountain square has different dance nights and events of all sorts during the summer. Typically, there are different events all year round for you to enjoy. You would hate to miss the scene and festivities. I hope to see you enjoying a day in the city.

Downtown Cincinnati has come a long way! I must say that I’m so proud of the progress that has been made within the last couple of years. I remember a time where it was NOT ok to come downtown and hang out!
Pros to downtown would be that it’s much safer, entertainment, plenty of great places to eat, awesome happy hours and our stadiums/​sports teams. Cons would include parking, nightlife and public transportation.

Downtown Cincinnati is really developing a unique feel. The OTR district has made leaps and bounds the last few years, and only keeps growing with great restaurants and festivals.
The ongoing construction can be a major inconvenience at times, but there is always something going on in downtown nowadays.
There is a wide range of restaurants to choose from, baseball, football, the Banks, OTR, Findlay Market… need I say more?!?

Cincinnati is a gorgeous city, and you can take my word for it because I’ve been to a decent amount of major cities. It probably helps that the most notable comparison I have to it is Baltimore since I live there. It’s very clean for a big city, easily navigated, and even parking isn’t that bad! We didn’t have a single issue with that. Downtown is a fantastic spot, on weekend evenings there are people all over the place, walking the streets, heading to bars and such, and just generally being out. It’s very refreshing to be in a city where I feel safe walking the streets. The people are generally pretty polite and take seemingly good care of themselves.
Downtown is beautiful. The historical buildings are a work of art.

Visit the Square!

I always enjoy a trip downtown Cincy. My favorite is the over the Rhine area which is slowly being cleaned up and growing, oktoberfest, taste if cincinnati, etc. I don’t like the parking, like all downtowns is typical.
Great photo ops for photographers and love the historical buildings.
I feel like there needs to be more retail shops downtown. Macy’s and Saks Fifth Avenue are good, but it would be really nice to have a strip like Michigan Avenue (Chicago).
