I went here for a Sunday lunch buffet so I would be only talking about that. I would say I have tasted better Indian food, at places even with less Indian density. First of all they did not had daal(lentil) in the buffet, which took me by surprise. Naan was not soft but looked and tasted like a thick bread. No non-paneer vegetarian entrée which again was sad. Last but not the least the sweet(gulab jamun) was pathetic and left it unfinished. ~$ 10 for such kind of food is not reasonable. I came here for the first time so it also might be because you know its one of those days. The only rating here is for the ambiance, service and the courteous staff. This place has good potential, definitely should work on their food.

If I could give it zero stars I would. The naan literally was the worst I have ever eaten. We love Indian food and have eaten at over 30 – 40 places over the United States and this is one of be worst we have been too. We did not have one like warm dish on the Buffett either. I would not go back to this place if it was FREE or they paid me.

It’s just ok. The lunch buffet is small and the food is a bit bland.

This place is awesome! BYOB? Awesome! I’ve tried both their menu items and their buffet. Each one was incredible, although I recommend the made to order so you can get the spicer items that you won’t find on the bar. The spinach cheese frita-type items on the buffet were something I could eat every day. So good! But, I have to say that the thing that makes it such a nice place are the people who run it. Every time I have been there, and I think it’s a total of 3 times now, the staff are smiling and friendly. I will admit that I have my favorite go to’s of Indian cuisine, like Chicken Tiki Masala, and Chicken or Lamb curry, level 2 or 3, I’ve tried the potato croquet’s(sorry I can’t recall the actual name) and the desserts are scrumptious. My favorite of the sauces is the green with mint and cilantro. I finally got my husband to try it and he agreed it’s now his new favorite place. The restaurant is well kept, and the bathrooms are clean, I don’t like the fact that they are right open to the dinning room, and they are one single person at a time. That’s a little odd, but it’s got a nice bar selection and good atmosphere. Well done, Dumesh! Keep up the good work.

The service is bad they just had one server… the food is not good at all. We ordered the kabobs. All meat that we had were uncooked. They cooked the meat and then put sauces in it, nothing was marinated

Best Indian food in town. Hands down. I rarely pass out 5 stars. But this one gets it. Constantly great quality. Different varieties each time while keeping the same staples. I like the curry, but the chili chicken is the bees-knees. I would mention how often I come here… but it would be embarrassing…

If you want some authentic Indian food, which doesn’t change much with each time you visit, this is the place. I visited three Sundays in a row to check how the buffet menu changes and it really doesn’t. One Sunday they had saag paneer and the next they had saag mushroom and the next week they got plain saag. That’s more like 1% change every week! Today I visited again hoping something would have changed after almost 3 months and guess what, saag mushroom and others are intact. To my surprise, the lady got me my bill as soon as I sat down with my appetizers. I thought bill is given at end of the buffet. The reason for 4 star is because the food tastes good, even though it’s almost the same every time. Am a vegetarian guy, so cannot comment on the other dishes.

It doesn’t look like much from the outside but the inside is very clean and well decorated. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful with any menu questions. But the food is why I go here, it’s THE best Indian food I’ve had in Cincinnati and I’ve eaten at almost every single restaurant. I’ve never been disappointed, and I’ll always keep coming back. Plus this place is BYOB so you can bring your own beer or wine to drink and they don’t charge a cork fee. They also have a lunch buffet I’ve never had that but I do notice the buffet set up.

I have never had a bad experience here. I really love the vegetable jalfrezi and mushroom bartha. They are not afraid of spice here either, if you ask for a 5 out of 6 they give it to you and are sure to refill your water frequently. Also 100% recommend the kasmiri naan. It is very tasty and I am a big fan of the salty sweet combination. Make sure to ask for no oil on it though. Don’t forget to ask or bring your loyalty card here though, you can rack up points to get a free dinner!

I love this restaurant. It’s the best Indian in town. The lunch buffet is always hot, quickly refilled, and dependably good. The dinner menu is extensive. I love the Chicken Shahi Korma with golden raisins. I’ve had it at other places and it’s not nearly as good. The Dal varies in flavor and heat, but that doesn’t matter to me. I recommend the Kashmeri Naan. It has coconut on it that adds a hint of sweetness to combat the spice. Don’t buy into the hype about the other Indian places on Ludlow. This is your best bet!

I think it’s better than Amol or Ambar when I had it. Get the Mango Curry, no one else does it better than them and I’ve tried at different places over the years, just not the same.

I’ve eaten here a few times basically just to meet up with some people. it was just at best ok when I did but today I was doing somethings around my place and ordered from them because just ok Indian seemed better then delivery pizza. Well nope becuse they wouldn’t deliver. The reason I’m outside their delivery area. I was told it was 5 miles well I’m 4.3 miles according to Google and they come up in the app I was using to order. But no even though I’m ordering 70 dollars worth of food. Nope not making good on a service there advertising. now I have a pending charge for god knows how long for 70 bucks. not ok. lazy place

This place used to rival if not surpass Ambar and the other Indian restaurants up the hill. That is sadly not the case anymore. The food has gone(pun intended) down the hill. Especially the buffet, which I have now sworn off. Half the items are left empty or with nasty scraps left with hours left til the end of lunch. No employee seemed concerned even though 95% of customers were eating from the buffet.

Yummy! I love a good Indian lunch buffet and this is the best one I’ve tried in a while! Their curries, samosas and bread options are fantastic and refreshed frequently during their busy lunch service, and they even have mango kulfi on the dessert side of the buffet. Service is prompt and friendly and the price is reasonable. There are lots of interesting food options in the Clifton neighborhood, but this one is definitely worth checking out when you’re in the area. Good for students and working professionals alike, since you can get in and out quickly at lunchtime.

Best Kashmiri naan in Cincinnati, service is hit or miss, and skip the rice. Let me start by saying that I’d rather eat Indian food on it’s own with breads like naan or chappati, not with rice. Therefore I care a lot about the bread quality. This place, hands down, has the best Kashmiri(they spell it Keshmiri) naan in the city. This kind of naan is my favorite of all naans. It has coconut and nuts so it is nice and sweet. The Kashmiri naan in most other places is dry and flaky. Here, it is cooked but still moist, making it much easier to pick up food with(if you are eating it in a traditional style.) Apart from the naan, I have had consistently good quality subzis. The vindaloo and choley sauces are great. I also like the jalfrezi and tikka masala. I prefer the chicken here or veg dishes. The chicken always has a nice texture. Also I find their spice levels to be a little higher than other Indian places like those around UC. If you prefer rice based dishes, like biryani or rice with your tikka, this is not the place for you. As I said, I could care less about rice when I eat Indian in general, but here the rice is just too soggy/wet for me. I prefer a much dryer cook.(I personally like Krishna’s rice.) Also their gulab jammin is way over priced($ 4???). Lastly, the service is really hit or miss. I think every time I have been in here, I have had a different server. Tonight’s was like all thumbs and dropping things and mixing up checks. Next time I might try their buffet… and order some Kashmiri naan on the side.

After eating the lunch buffet several times, I finally tried dinner at Dusmesh. Both options are fantastic, especially if you can find Bearcash coupons that will shave off a few bucks once your bill comes! First off, there is great service here. Staff is attentive with drinks, refills, extra rice, and food doesn’t take long to come out. Secondly, their extensive menu will fulfill all your needs and preferences. And of course, the food is FILLING and delicious! I am one to judge an Indian restaurant solely by their saag paneer, and this one was excellent, although the amount of paneer was somewhat lacking. On the other hand, since we dined with a group, I was finally able to leave my comfort zone and try something new that will certainly be ordered again: bhartha, an eggplant dish with herbs, spices, and other veggies. Everything was filling, creamy, and rich with flavor. + The naan is huge and comes out steaming hot! Dusmesh is a great establishment for your standard Indian fare. Prices are pretty reasonable, especially the lunch buffet. There is outdoor seating for warmer days as well as a parking lot.(And BYOB with no extra fee!)

(For this review, I’m going to assume you know nothing about Indian food. If it seems patronizing to a veteran of the genre, I apologize. Okay, not really, you can deal with it, buddy.) An Indian restaurant with all the classics, Dusmesh is accessible to everyone who has even a tangential knowledge of basic Midwestern Indian food. Their portions are more accurately sized to feed one individual in one sitting than other Indian joints, so you may not be taking home leftovers(if you eat as much as I do). I particularly like that because it’s my experience that Indian food doesn’t reheat perfectly and I’d rather not waste food. They bring out endless rice for no extra charge, too, so don’t worry about being stingy with your portions. Make sure you go in hungry because there’s a lot to eat for your dollar. As with most places I visit, I almost always get whatever eggplant dish the place has(I have a mild obsession with it), so the last time I went I got the mushroom bartha(mushrooms, eggplant, curry sauce). It was delicious. I also got the vegetable pakora(fried balls of vegetables) and those were somehow even better than the bartha. Honestly, the food is top notch here. It may be the best I’ve had in the city. You can also bring your own beverage, alcohol or otherwise, which separates it from other eating establishments in the region. I saw a guy bring a six pack and a cake the last time I went(sounds like a good time to me, too), so I guess they’re not picky about outside food as well. Nothing like a little chicken tikka masala with a nice piece of double chocolate cake, apparently. The service is just okay, though. We spent a long time waiting to be served and only toward the end did our waters receive the attention they needed. The staff are friendly enough but they just didn’t seem to be too attentive overall. The place was not busy, so I’m not sure what was going on. If you want great Indian food, I highly recommend this place. It’s delicious, fairly priced, and the service is fine. Bring your own beer and wine and order a heaping dish of curry and some other thing on which to put it. Also, get the nan. I can’t believe you were going to forget the nan. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Not as good after new management took over. Quite a disappointment since this was my favorite Indian restaurant in Cincinnati. The curry and the masala taste like it has been watered down. Flavors are not nearly as robust as before and mouthfeel is terrible. Tandoori chicken is bland. I like the chili chicken though! Service is okay but Aj and family were much nicer. Mango lassi is still amazing!
