Waited in line for 1 second. Smart people. Quick turnaround. Prices are a bit hire but your time and the difference in quality and turnaround make it worth it. Don’t waste your time at macro wastes of time places that are PC focused.

I reviewed this place before, but it seems that some of their policies have changed. I called to ask about the turnaround time to replace a Macbook trackpad with an employee named Josh. They stated that they must «perform a required diagnostic» on it that would take «at least 24 hours» and they will not just replace the trackpad for me as I’m requesting. They also said their turnaround time was «2 – 3 business days», which will not work since I use my Macbook for work purposes everyday. If you’re looking for same day service with weekend hours and a friendly staff that will accommodate your Apple repair needs, I recommend AppleRx instead of Élan Technologies.

I had a 2008 model MacBook that the backlight on the LCD had gone out on. The Apple Store was able to identify the problem, but also told me that they couldn’t fix it because it was «vintage.» They did, however, recommend that I take it to Élan. At Élan, I was able to just walk in and drop it off. No need to make an appointment and wait in the mad rush that is the Apple Store. They got back to me about a day later with a reasonable estimate and had it repaired quickly.
I’ve had out of warranty repairs done on my MacBook before, but at the Apple Store. I found Élan’s prices to be much more reasonable, and the turnaround to be much faster. I would definitely recommend using them in the future.

A broken MacBook is never a happy occasion but Élan Technologies certainly makes the tragedy much easier to cope with then the hectic Apple Store at the Kenwood Towncentre, which for me is equivalent to the seventh layer of hell.
Their staff is great. They listen to your concerns and promptly fix the problem. They aren’t intimidating, there is never a line, they are fast, and they don’t overcharge.
While my own MacBook was getting repaired, I borrowed my then roommate’s and accidentally cracked her screen. They were really nice and offered to swap out the screen from laptop that was beyond repair rather than charge me for the brand new part, which saved me a ton of money. I love that they treated me like a (very broke and unlucky) person rather than a checkbook.

I love this place! The Mac store was asking $ 250 to diagnose the problem, even though I already knew what was wrong and that the part to fix it cost $ 40. Élan fixed everything in one day for only $ 60. I’m a fan!

My motherboard (or whatever mac calls it) crashed. The Mac store told me to go there to get my computer backed up, and bring it back to the mac store to get it fixed. Élan was able to back up my hard drive get my motherboard fixed and gave me a new battery all for the price that the mac store quoted me for getting my motherboard fixed.

Soooo, sometimes computers fall off of things and then the screen is cracked and you have to have it hooked up to an external monitor for almost a year because you don’t just have a new-​computer-​screen budget hanging out in your bank account. It happens.
Friends had told me about Élan, and I finally called them up and they said it would only cost $ 250 to replace my MacBook’s LCD screen. So much cheaper than I had anticipated and been warned it would cost through Apple since my warranty/​apple care had long since expired.
Aside from the pleasantly surprising cost, the service was great. Friendly, helpful and fast. Dropped it off on a Thursday just before they closed (they’re closed all weekend) and I got it back the following Tuesday. Way faster turn around than through the Apple store!
Now I am free to review all sorts of cool places from the comfort of my cozy warm bed. :)
