A bit pricey but the food was perfectly prepared and made great use of the local markets.

I used to work next door to The fond. I’ve have tried several menu items. Let me just say the food here is amazing. The food is fresh, the prepare amazing food and some that is outside the box. The flavors of everything I’ve tried seem to come together perfectly. If you haven’t stopped in and tired I suggest you do!

I have just ascended to heaven! This sandwich just changed my life. I will talk about this sandwich for the rest of my life!!! By far, thee best-freakin-sandwich in the city! Good job Cincinnati. The foodie in me has been put to bed. I have been searching for this place and had to use my gps to find it but when I did… Culinary goodness! I had the Langue et Joue(Tongue and Cheek). Beef tongue and pork joule. A clever name for a sandwich but an even better texture/flavor combo. It was thick cut swabs of organic locally sourced meat with razor thin pickles and a fruit jam alternative to the typical condiment. The pictures can not convey the feel of the baguette or the temperature of the meat or the sheen from the moisture. It’s impossible! The price point was high but I quickly realized why shortly after my first bite. The sandwich never made it to my destination. I absolutely could not put it down. Today I had a culinary orgasm! Whoa! #HolyPorkJoulsBatman!

Awesome sandwiches in a tiny spot tucked in the back corner of a strip mall in Montgomery. They feature local food. Mostly they just taste great.

Found this place tucked away in a strip mall. Everything looks made fresh and from local produce. The staff is very friendly. The place does have very limited seating, get there early to get a seat. The menu looks every enticing with both vegetarian and meat options. I tried the special of the day — beef tongue tacos — $ 12 for three. It’s cooked very well, the meat is very tender and the cole slaw I it taste very fresh –however it was way too too salty I couldn’t eat much of it. I got a bag of the Madeline cookies($ 5), very good. I want to go back to try this place again hopefully a better dish not so salty seasoned.

Delicious !! My husband and I went for lunch and talked about how great the food was the rest of the day. The combination of ingredients and flavors are so unique, tasty and perfect. Seaweed hummus, quail eggs to go, burgers, salads, vegan options and THEBEST cookies, plus super friendly owners. everything is organic and locally sourced. you can’t go wrong. Two thumbs up!

I have been to Fond: Lunch and Deli twice now. Astonishingly good food. The menu is small and changes with what is available from the local food fountainhead, but what they create from this source is amazing. Today I had the Duck Duck Goodness. This is a large hearty sandwich with shredded duck confit, topped with a creamy duck egg salad, various local sprouts on a fresh light rye bun and accented with a mild tarragon mustard. The flavors melded together so well that you can lose yourself within it. To have such a well made sandwich from locally sourced ingredients was such a treat. The other menu items are equally unique and all seem to have special qualities that can’t be found in so many other restaurants. The business model of the deli is unique as well. It seems to be geared more towards carry-out as there are only a few tables in the small space and they carry only a few beverages. But the food that is produced in that kitchen is so over the top delicious that it seems to balance out these slights. And although the prices are a little higher than I would want to typically pay for lunch, I feel that the VALUE of the meal is worth the price. If you want great locally sourced food, this is the lunchbox to be in!

An excellent lunch spot hidden back in an unassuming strip-mall, I’m sad I’ve only just discovered Fond! The menu changes seasonally since they source as much as they can locally– so you can expect great menu items built off of what is in season. The staff was friendly, the food was great– I’ll definitely be back!

I had the Bali Burger. One of the best burgers I have ever had in the past few years — juicy, fresh and great taste. Also, owner was very friendly and shared a lot of information on what he wants to achieve. Fond is worth a visit and then a couple more…

«Good as it gets» has never more perfectly described a local lunch spot as it describes Fond. I mean… seriously. I recently transferred to a new office location with my company, and I was almost personally offended, and was DEFINITELY appalled, to find out that NOONE in my office had ever eaten here before and it is literally right across the street from our office… I’m talking 5 minute walk… and NOONE. Well, for years they’ve been missing out on what I learned in 1 week, that Fond is THEPLACE to go in Montgomery for a fresh and delicious lunch. Their menu is VERY seasonal and ingredients VERY locally sourced. The service is THEBESTSERVICE I HAVEEVERRECEIVED for lunch. PERIOD. The right amount of friendliness, efficiency, and genuine love and care for their patrons. There are only a few tables inside and out, so if they get busy during a typical lunch rush, you might be getting kinda cozy with your dining neighbor, but it’ll be worth it. If the food was sub par, I would have still considered giving this place a 5 because of the incredible service. But it turned out, I didn’t have to make that distinction because the food was delicious too. The menu is fairly small, but oh is it mighty. I got the chicken tacos and I cannot say enough fabulous things about them, the slaw on top added the perfect crunchy, tangy bite and the shredded chicken within was flavorful all on its own. I can’t wait for the opportunity to make it again and try some new menu items. I was there on a Tuesday and was informed on Tuesdays, their specials are vegetarian options. On this particular Tuesday, it was some kind of vegetarian fried rice dish and it smelled AMAZING and while I was there, one woman had to come up to the counter to ask for a lid for hers because it had filled her up, so she was so excited that she was going to get to take it home and eat it again for lunch the next day. As I was waiting for my own lunch, I was greatly encouraged have heard that. This is the place to go if you want to impress a co-worker or boss with your insider«foodie» knowledge. It doesn’t stand out, especially since it’s not right on Montgomery Rd, but bring them here and you will be forever known as the person in the office who knows the cool local places to try out.

Guys, this place is awesome. If you’re into trying to support local businesses, along with eating healthy, then this is the place for you. I am by no means a vegetarian, but they also have a lot of great vegetarian options as well. This is a great spot to stop in for a healthy lunch to break up your work day, which will leave you full, and satisfied that you actually ate something good for your body. I don’t know about you, but going back to work after a giant basket of deep fried wings is basically impossible, so this spot is a better option for me. FOOD: The Peppermint Patty Melt does not contain peppermint, but is an awesome mango-curry veggie patty melt with colby-jack cheese and hot slaw that you know they made from scratch. My boyfriend loves the Am-Asian Tacos as well that I have tried and they are awesome(pulled chicken, fresh tortillas, sliced jalapenos). They always have a fresh soup of the day that you know will be good(ex: cream of celery, gumbo with andouille, etc.). They serve daily specials that you can find on their Facebook page(although I wish they had an Instagram or Twitter to check since Facebook can be a little convoluted at times). These specials are awesome and you can count on to always be exciting, local, and fresh. There is always a vegetarian special on Tuesday, as an FYI, but the veggie options happen to be great as well. And trust me, I am by no means a veggie promoter, but hey if the veggie patty is good I’m gonna eat it(I wouldn’t mind a slice of bacon on there). The owners here rock and are always very personable by introducing themselves, and just being friendly in general. You can grab a lot of to-go options here as well, such as: local coffee, homemade hummus, pickled vegetables, chocolate bars, jams, honey, almond butter, homemade dessert«treats»(cookies or coffee cake sometimes), have I missed anything? Everyone come here and support these guys cause they are awesome, and I love what they do on so many levels. We need more spots like this in Cincinnati, and I’m just lucky there is one close enough to my work!

FOND is a Find! So amazing, every time. If you like local meat and vege’s and healthy eating, this is your spot. Everything I have tried has been perfection. I try to eat here at least once a week. Check out their Facebook page for their daily special. Thanks Ethan & Mike for your talents!

Like some other people said– very impressed! This place is a true find,(being that it is hidden behind some buildings!) First off, locally-organic sourced? Yes, please! I’m very impressed with the combinations that the owners come up with. And they were SUPER nice! I was sort of overwhelmed by the oiliness from some of the veggies, but overall, a very refreshing place.

I am very impressed with the flavors Chef Ethan produces with fresh and local ingredients. Amazing! You will not regret going here for lunch. They have daily specials and a rotating menu. If you like the Summuh hummus, this is the guy that created it and the have a nice selection of vegan and vegetarian options. This place has been and will continue to be our weekly ritual for Saturday lunch. Hope you like this place as much as my family does.

I visited there during the week with a colleague for lunch. I was impressed with the menu, which was rounded and concise. I was told by the proprietor that«we don’t have a huge menu because everything is made fresh.» And, fresh it was. I thoroughly enjoyed the ingredients on the chicken tacos. You could tell that everything was made to order and ingredients had not been sitting around all day. Excellent food, unique atmosphere and the good feeling that you’re eating organic, locally grown foods. I will definitely go back soon.

I stopped by for lunch on Saturday because a friend kept posting incredible food photos on FB! The special of the day was a beef heart pastrami sandwich made from many ingredients from my favorite local farm, Finn Meadows in Montgomery. But… not being a fan of rye, I went for the Fond melt. Yum! The chefs are super friendly and were selling hummus at local farmer’s markets. It was a bit pricey at $ 12 for my melt, but worth every bite: o) Topped with caramelized onions and foraged mushrooms, as well as colby jack. I bought some hummus to go and the chef gave me chips also. So I ate chips and hummus along with my delicious sandwich. Just a few tables and outdoor seating too. Definitely a foodie joint you have to try!

Restaurant serving locally sourced, organic meats and veggies. Fresh and delicious. Very friendly staff. Fond is tucked in the corner of a strip mall so a little hard to find but well worth the search. Today’s pulled pork shoulder sandwich was flavorful and juicy but not greasy.

If I had the chance to envision the exact type of restaurant I wanted to open in my area, Fond would be it. It’s like, FINALLY, a place that totally nails it. Locally sourced ingredients. And we’re talking micro-local, literally from the farm down the road in Montgomery. Chef-inspired daily specials. Every single day. The kind of creativity it takes to consistently come up with delicious, made-from-scratch specials completely baffles me. But they do it. Tip: follow on facebook for their daily posts of specials/food porn. And most of all, it’s just a couple of nice guys making really good food. Nearly everything is from scratch(like, even their hot dog and condiments, who does that?), and if it’s not made in-house, it was probably made down the street by an awesome bakery or somewhere like that. Some of their specials aren’t for the faint at heart, either. They’re not shy when it comes to offal, housemade sausages, and other unusual accoutrements. They don’t skimp on any ingredients, but they may have skimped a bit on rents. As such, Fond isn’t visible at all from Montgomery Road. You have to turn onto Weller first, and then into Fond’s strip mall parking lot. Prices here aren’t exactly what I’d call bargain-basement, but I just keep reminding myself that the food isn’t just any ordinary run-of-the-mill, but completely legit, best-of-what’s-available. And here’s my wish list: I wish they had a phone number! I was recently trying to get in touch with them about catering and there was no way to get in touch. I also wish they had a website. But I know it’s a just a small two dude operation and those probably aren’t priorities.
