It seems like Gama Suites was just recently bought from the Comfort Suites chain. Or they may be a part of the Comfort Suites Franchise. They are doing some renovations and giving the place a personal touch. So far, it’s going well. Locked in the heart of several other corporate hotels, Gama isn’t one. I’d classify it as a boutique hotel, but instead if charging more, they charge less. I’d put it in the category of a Hampton Suites. My room was $ 84. I counted only 48 rooms and they all appear to be suites. Suites were a nice size, clean, and had everything you need: Flat screen, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, sofa, two desks, and a king sized bed. It’s not a luxury hotel, but again, completely clean, but if not a tad dated. My only real disappointment is that the windows didn’t open. Likely for insurance purposes, but I am an open window guy. There is a large indoor covered courtyard with plants and fountains, and metalwork reminiscent of the French quarter. Hot breakfast was again, about like Hampton, but the staff was more pedestrian and friendly. There is also a small pool. On the night I stayed, the Gama was less than half full, I noticed that the front desk clerk gave us all a pool view room. A small thing, but a nice thing. The outfoor pool honestly needs to be updated, but it holds water, has plenty of chairs, gets sun, is chlorine balanced properly, and last evening there were 20 people around it enjoying the Ohio summer. I will be returning to Gama.
